Politics / Re: Igbo Group Urges Buhari To Fulfill Promise To South East by Naijamericana: 10:07pm On Apr 03, 2015
I am Igbo, and I was disappointed with how my people supported Jonathan despite his glaring incompetence. I have been a staunch APC supporter from the beginning and have never wavered. Anyway, that's by the way. Please, fellow Igbo people, our president elect has national priorities and not just tribal issues to deal with such as the economy, security and corruption.

Hmm I'd rather not say, I've gotten enough backlash for one day

One of the first things you will notice is that Nigerians speak their minds. You will have to develop a very thick skin around Nigerians. Go ahead, say what's on your mind. You might as well practice with us online.

Hi and Thankyou

My business consist of making clothes and accessories for children and adults , as well as asseccories (handbags , hair bows, bow ties , custom jewelry ect) I'm also into home goods making candles, soaps, breads, and a few other things. I'm good with my hands

I visit naija in August

Favorite dish afang soup

Okay, you are brave for wanting to move to Nigeria. I don't know any Nigerians living abroad who want to move back. Your business ideas sound interesting. I have cousins who frequent Dubai and London to buy clothes to sell in Nigeria.

Calabar is a nice place. Very few problems.

Question for you, as a potential Nigerian, what is your opinion of the political situation in the country especially with the elections?

@Glamrock,

Very interesting post about moving to naija. Most black americans could care less about africa.

What kind of business will you start in naija?
Where have you visited in naija?
What's your favorite naija dish?

Good luck in your endeavours.

What computer courses do they teach in Nigerian universities? I see people mentioning Fortran. That is ancient. You need knowledge of java, Javascript, C++, python, ruby on rails, visual Basic to be competitive. Bill Gates and Co where provided the tools in university to develop their abilities. The govt should do the same.

You definitely don't know the difference between marriage and cohabitation. You need to educate yourself better on the environment you live in. Even an elderly colleague of mine complained about all his 3 children just living with the opposite sex with no legal attachment and children are involved.

Often times if you cohabit long enough it is considered "common law marriage."

paris10: I see a lot of opinions spiralling about without the need for an in depth findings on the suffering of Nigerian women in the hands of their supposedly husbands.

Do not misconstrue my write-up and base it on an opinionated ideology. What percentage of women do you know who are being treated harshly by their husbands? Or which research have you conducted on domestic violence?

Nigerian men are egocentric and self-centred...controlling their women like a robot and brainwashing them to accept abuse as a norm. Now that this issue of compensation has been raised, men are going defensive and voicing out their frustration on this idea. Maybe if you treat your women right you wont have the fear of divorce with benefit!

paris10: Nigerian men have a responsibility; emotionally, financially and psychologically to make sure their women dont go on to have post-divorce syndrome with the symptoms of self-pity, complex and confidence.

You think 9ja wont be a better place if men are cautioned? Would they have 2 wives if knowing what repercussions would follow if the other woman file for divorce?

Would women be treated better and respected if the men knew what cheating could cost them?

Now I see you are a comedian cheesy

Maybe you've forgotten that it is for better or worse. Regardless of religion, our women deserve respect. And since Nigerian men are always quick to throw women out, they should also be able to pay for their irresponsible act.

My friend shutup!
Family / Re: Divorce And The Suffering Of The Nigerian Women! by Naijamericana: 8:58pm On Jan 06, 2014
paris10: As in the norms in Nigeria, women who get divorced or are been thrown out of their matrimonial homes by their husbands tend to lose out alot.

Even in domestic violence cases, women who couldnt take the violence any longer divorce the husband without sharing in the property.

Though Nigeria is not UK, US or other western countries where women share in the estate or property of the husband after divorce, Nigerian men should atleast take responsibility in making sure the woman they divorce would be well-off after letting her go.

Laws should also be put in place to reward any woman whose husband left her for someone else. Even in cases where the woman is found to be promiscuous and the husband want out, adequate measure should be put in place to make sure she share from the spoils.

Married women deserve better and should be treated better.

What is this, a joke? shocked

Show you chart as what?

If you need a chart, the least you could do is ask nicely.

I guess in your own little world, it is all about technical analysis and fundamentals have no bearings on
shares prices. What a drivel!

I don't have time for disrespectful morons.

At what point did you assume the responsibility to decide who talks in NL?

The OP is at discretion to take my advice or leave it.

It was never intended for a loser like you.

Professor,
There are two kinds of people in this world, those who can take criticism and those who cannot. Get some tough skin and learn from your toughest critics. And besides how do you know I don't use fundamental analysis? Or do you just use fundamental analysis without technical analysis? Don't make assumptions.

def lover:

investing terms are mere words and what they mean to you, which is relative to ones definition.
what do you mean by the phrase: Long term investor..
what you call long term might not be what I call long term...
to me long term can mean 1min,5min,15min,30min,1hr,4hr,daily,weekly,and monthly..
All this depends on my entry point on a financial security.
so your phrase long term is misleading if a person starting off sees this comment.
so if you invest, you do so based on words and what they mean to you,Becos the day you sell you won't tell anyone here becos you expect them to know its time to sell but like you said long term and the guy is looking at that phrase to mean next one million years.

that is why one needs to be careful when you speak in a public forum.
if I may ask you becos you said you want to marry my sister is it a most you would marry her.

and if you do ...does dat min the marriage is made in heaven..
same goes to this shares....tinz can still go wrong.
wat u sud be looking at is the PE ratio of the stock...market capitalisation...PE ratio to the NSE. support and resistance points...open high low close and if u can lay ur hands on a 20 simple moving average of this stock on a daily chart.

not some fairy tale like buy for long term.

Please teach them

I've watched on Amazon too (By cheating lipsrsealed grin - Well, not cheating per se...atleast I pay)......but definitely not Iroko! Movies are on a very low resolution. It will be a disaster to watch a good movie for the first time on Iroko.

What irokotv needs is some very strong competition. They consider themselves the "Netflix of Africa". Can you imagine?
