The Benue State Police Command has arrested one Jeremiah Nnamdi, a student of Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (FUAM) over the alleged killing of an associate professor at the institution, Karl Kwaghger.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Catherine Anene, in a statement on Saturday, December 5, said the university don was killed on November 28 at the Tarka Foundation, Gboko, where he had gone for relaxation.

The suspect, who hails from Imo State was arrested in Abuja while trying to sell a car belonging to the deceased.

According to the police, “The suspect confessed to the crime and further stated that his initial intention was to threaten the victim with a make-believe gun and rob the deceased of his car.

But he ended up killing him because of his resistance and took the car away.”

A 400 Level Medicine and Surgery student of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Oghogho Christiana has been abducted by gunmen.

It was gathered that the student was kidnapped was along the Benin-Auchi Expressway in Edo State on Thursday, November 19, while on her way to Ekpoma from Benin City.

A family member, who confirmed the incident on Friday, said the kidnappers have demanded a N7 million ransom for her release.

In a similar development, gunmen also on Friday November 20, reportedly shot dead the driver of a bus of a popular transport company and kidnapped fourteen Abuja-bound passengers on Benin-Auchi Road.
The whereabouts of the passengers remained unknown as the kidnappers are yet to make any contact for ransom.

The late Zimbabwean millionaire, Ginimbi’s plush house mansion wall has a part accidentally demolished by a motorist. The motorist crashed into the wall on the day of the funeral but quickly disappeared looking at the damage it caused to the wall.
An eyewitness report that the unexpected accident occurred while the motorist was reversing to avoid being noticed by the security guards and to avoid the numerous cars parked there.

The eyewitness said the motorist unintentionally crashed the wall after hitting one of the vehicles parked outside belong to a mourner so decided to reverse on top speed to prevent himself being noticed and stopped. The impact was so great that it broke the huge brick wall, creating a large opening into the residence.

“It is sad that the motorist destroyed the mansion precast security wall together with another parked vehicle belonging to one of the mourners and sped off,” said the eye witness.

’I am not sure if that motorist deliberately targeted the walls but from the look of things he was reversing at a fast speed to avoid security guards after he hit one of the parked vehicles.

’A number of people who failed to find their way into the mansion because of the limited number returned to their homes refusing to follow proceedings from the tents.

’I am still wandering why the motorist decided to disappear from the scene following that mishap considering the damage he had caused,” said the eye witness

Despite the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus, Ginimbi had a mass burial from friends. His body was first conveyed to the church where the family worship for the last mass before it conveyed back to his mansion for burial.

Before Ginimbi died, he made a will but was unable to sign that suggested that the mansion should be used as a museum, and other properties are to be sold with the proceeds given to the charity house.

NHS consultant, Perpetual Uke, who gave birth to premature twins via caesarean section while she lay in a coma battling Covid-19 is finally back home safely with her family.

Perprtual, a rheumatology consultant at Birmingham City Hospital, began to feel unwell with flu-like symptoms in late March.

After calling NHS 111 she began a period of self-isolation but, over the coming days, she felt progressively more unwell.

She was admitted to a respiratory ward via the Emergency Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham but due to a deterioration in her condition, she was quickly transferred to the Critical Care Unit.

The High-Risk Maternity Outreach team from the Women’s Hospital conducted daily reviews and scans of her babies during this time when the seriousness of Perpetual’s condition meant she was placed into an induced coma and her breathing was taken over by a ventilator, as she fought the infection.

It was then decided that it would be safer for Perpetual and her twins for them to be delivered via caesarean section.

The team helped bring them into the world on April 10 at 26 weeks.

Sochika Palmer weighed just 770 grams while her brother, Osinachi Pascal, weighed 850 grams.

Immediately after they were born, they were admitted to the specialist Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Perpetual continued to receive care within the Critical Care Unit for another 16 days, during which time her husband Matthew spent time with his new twins and the couple’s other children, Nnamdi Ronald and Chisimdi Claire.

Perpetual Uke gave birth while on a ventilator in an induced coma and did not see her newborn babies until she came round sixteen days later.

The twins, Palmer, a girl and Pascal, a boy, stayed in a Birmingham hospital where they ‘fought aggressively for their lives’ before being discharged more than 100 days later.

Big Brother Naija season 5 winner, Laycon, has taken to social media to express a heartfelt gratitude to his fans for the massive love shown him on his birthday.

The reality show star turned 27 year old on November 8th, and his fans made it one hell of a memorable birthday for him.

Apart from surprising him with a lavish birthday party, they also bought him a brand new Mercedes Benz ride, and showered him with other gifts like designer clothes, shoes, including a s$$x toy.

Laycon has thanked his fans for the ‘unflinching love and support’ and has promised not to let them down through a post on Instagram, as he shares some scenes from the party.
