Daejoyoung: There's no evidence Jumia was sold to any German fund, at least l've never heard of that. What l know is that the founders are no longer the CEO's . Strategic partnership is good, but the point is without strategic partnership from whites where are the black African businesses globally? We need partnership but we must first of all learn to be independent to an extent. Where was Safaricom before Vodafone took over in 2000? Look at Jumia, even at 2014, they were already getting big on the continent and not just Nigeria. That's what I'm talking about, what can Kenyans make global without the whites' strategic partnership?
Where was any mobile service providing company before 2000? Dude are you dumb? Vodafone didn't take over Safaricom, they just bought shares.
Daejoyoung: Do you actually mean you are impressed with the way Kenyans and Ugandans speak, or are you kidding me?l l always found East African accent ridiculous. l'm surprised you think you speak well or this must be a joke.
We are talking about Kenya. Leave Ugandans out of this unless there is a Ugandan here to speak for their country.
Daejoyoung: It's just the truth. Jumia for example, is a Nigerian enterprise. lf foreign companies get's involved and makes it one of the top 200 global brands, it would be hypocritical to deny this. lt is not very easy for the black man to sell his brand globally. Not even easy for whites who do not have access to world power and peiviledge. When you understand this, you'll see why Africans must try to grow from within by first promoting home grown indigenous enterprises and satisfying the indigenous market and taste before anything else.
1. Safaricom does not sell globally. It's services are strictly within the boundaries of Kenya.
2. Jumia is no longer owned by Nigerians but foreigners now despite the fact that you guys keep bragging about it. You low self-esteem drives you to study how big companies in other African countries are successful because of the white man so much that you forget your own companies are worse.
3. If you really believe the part in bold then it's absurd how you keep rubbishing development from other African countries as driven by foreigners.
4. The part in bold is a manifestation of your low self-esteem. You don't need a white man to sell your product in Africa. You guys need self-esteem classes.
I wonder why Tanzania isn't asking Kenya for teachers... hmmm
Nigeria even has an aid program for lesser developed African countries, to send teachers to them...
Nigerians, feel free to add more multinational Nigerian companies
Tanzania has too many Kenyan teachers, lol. Even local Tanzanians usually complain why schools prefer Kenyan teachers to their own. You walk in the streets of Dar es Salaam you'll definitely come across posters advertising for Kenyan teachers. It's only that we don't get overly excited over simple things like these like you guys. For you guys, another country hiring your teachers means you own them, you're the reason they have any progress. You should ask yourself how anyone who has stayed in Kenya finds it absurd and dumb when that obaboon guy keeps repeating that Nigerians have something to do with Kenya's progress, lol.
buceta: You get discriminated against in your own capital
According to local media reports, a Chinese restaurant in the Kenyan capital Nairobi has adopted a rather unsavory practice. After 5 p.m., most African patrons are barred from entering the premises.
Bantu Africans are just coons who are incapable of business and will take anything from foreigners. I don't like it when people lump West Africans: Nigerians Ghanaians, Senegalese with East Africans. We are very different from them mentally...
Did you even read the whole story? Do you even know what happened to the Chinese and their restaurant?
this was not too recent.. this report was done in 2015...
Nairobi has a long way to go in competing with Lagos
Someone showed me that list sometime back and I was disappointed anyone with a brain can believe such a list. According to that list, the county with the highest GDP per capita in Kenya (Kiambu with $1784) has a lower GDP per capita than Kenya ($1790). . Like, what kind of an idiot believes crap like that?
nwoke37: That's why Nigeria has the richest black man. That's why other African counties thank Nigeria for sending teachers to them and even beg for more teachers.. That's why other African nations want Nigerian investments (especially cement).. The other day Tanzania was asking for more companies like Dangote to be established in Tanzania
I don't see Somalia having the richest African.. I don't see somalia sending teachers to other countries.. I don't see Somalia with multinational companies, .... etc
Things are bad in Nigeria but definitely not as bad as Somalia
How's sending your teachers to other countries something to boast about? lol - FYI all international schools in Tanzania mostly employ Kenyan teachers. Somalia, South Sudan and DRC all have Kenyan teachers. China has been importing teachers from Kenya heavily of late.
gallivant: So what's the point, malls are safe delivery points with fun things to do. Way better than yaba market. Anyway, Nigerians shopping online was a cop out because malls and other widely accepted concepts and norms are alien to you. Stick to your cults and voodoo. Online shopping my butt.
How many Nigerians do online shopping seriously? In Kenya, from the peasant farmer in a remote village to the slum dweller in Kibera to the filthy rich in Muthaiga, everyone shops in malls. We can confidently be proud of malls. Online shopping is something that less than 1% of Nigerians use regularly - not always but regularly. In Kenya, many people buy in malls always. It's stupid to compare malls in Kenya with online shopping in Nigeria.
Daejoyoung: Actually most of those Lebanese and some of the other whites are not just foreigners but are already Nigerians, they have been here for generations. We are not saying blacks are stupid or can't do anything, we are saying that the illiteracy level across black nations was high even at their independence. The whites have fought many wars in their dark ages, and they've transcended through a religious reformation and a cultural enlightenment, you can't compare white establishments which have been there for centuries to that of Nigeria or Ghana, Kenya, etc. Now looking at this list, you'll see SA has 11 out of top 200 multinational companies(and this is not surprising) and Nigeria has 2(which are black owned) and Kenya has Safaricom(which again was developed by whites), and then that's all Africa could offer, which is shameful. This shows that Nigeria deserves some little accolades in all of Africa, although we are not there yet and it's still a disgrace to us, but we are moving slowly.
Safaricom was developed by whites? Dude what kind of kush do you guys smoke?
naijalander: Kenyans are tribalistic and racist. They give each other labels like Bantu and Nilot. Who does that? In Nigeria, your either Yoruba, Igbo, etc. In Kenya, thy label each other Nilot and Bantu not Kikuyu or Luo - that is deep endemic racism.
Are you really listening to yourself now? Did you forget to carry your brain or you don't have any?
Again I ask, why does it matter how it is pronounced ? You Kenyans are sexist, classist and elitist fucktards with low self esteem, you wishou could be as cool as us.
Of all things in the world why would anyone wish to be Nigerian? lol. Low self esteem white man butlicking boastful morons who can't even realize people are making fools of them.
naijalander: We don't these brands because we empower local brands before foreign brands. Nigeria's market is much less dominated by foreign brands when compared to Kenya. Your leaders are globalist sell outs. Who needs True Worths when there is Yaba market, who needs PEP (we do have PEP actually), who needs them when we have FoodCo.
Lol, name me one major retail outlet that is Nigerian. Everybody knows SA and Kenya are continental leaders when it comes to retail outlets.
Jay254: When you discuss with this Yahoo and Voodoo boys you get the feeling that they feel sad whites never settled in Naija..
Ooohh you have good infrastructure because of Oyibo,, ooooh your retail sector is because of oyibo.. Your cities are well planned because of oyibos?? This guys have low self-esteem.
At first I had the feeling Nigerians hate the white so bad so I went on Utube and watched Whites in the streets of Nigeria...
Am telling you it's urgly everyone stops and starts celebrating..Oyibo...oyiboo..oyibooo.. from the kids to the old grandparents..
I reflected back home and no one will care a bout a white person walking on the streets.
Sure, I once watched a YouTube video of a white woman who could speak Yoruba walking in the streets of Lagos and talking to people randomly - I tell you every man she spoke to proposed to her and every woman she spoke to asked her to marry her brother or son! Lol, it was so embarrassing until the white woman had to start lying that she is marrying to a Yoruba man called Femi just to shake them off. I tell you, these guys have an inferiority complex. When you see them accuse someone of having an inferiority complex it's actually a defensive mechanism and a well known psychological thing - the guilty ones are always afraid.
gallivant: Because we had Indians and whites? You wreak of an inferiority complex to whites and Indians. You are not only stupid but very insecure. What about other simple advancements like proper city planning, clean cities, tapped water, 24hr electricity etc should we also thank the whites and Indians? You are a simpleton.
One thing I've realized is, these Nigerians think every other African country apart from them worship the white man but in the real sense, they never realize it's actually them that worship the white man. They're the very ones who will credit every development in any African country to the white man.
rvp20182: Read again - we beat you all over - smartphone penetration - internet penetration - phone penetration.
And you are throwing absolute numbers - we beat your in phone penetration - Kenya phone penetration is around 90% - Nigeria around 80%. You total connection is anything 140-160M - you still have about 50M (ANOTHER KENYA) inside Nigeria - before you can thinking of expanding to East Africa. In Kenya we are already 40M plus out of 48M - we only have to buy our teenagers phones to make
He's a special case lol. So according to him, internet penetration is higher in Nigeria than Finland. He's the most stupid forumer on this thread.
naijalander: You do realize English is only an official language. Nigeria has hundreds of languages with thousands of dialects put together. It's simple, most Nigerians aren't ashamed of how they speak English, we call it Nigerian English. Kenyans think they speak good English but y'all don't.
You pronounce Love - Lahv, even the British don't do that, I've researched it and Nigerian English is quite pleasing to the hear, no Kenyan I ever met hated my accent. They disagree with pronounciaton and even scoff but the truth is, they marvel at the confidence with which it is made. Love is pronounce Love not Lahv, you Kenyans are deaf and dare I say racist and tribalistic, why else would you all be dividing yourselfs into classes based on English accent.
nwoke37: Watch and see.. I believe there's a mall being built in Eko Atlantic that will be bigger than the biggest South African mall.
Nigeria will show why it's truly t he giant of Africa..
That's if other countries sleep through the time all those structures are undergoing construction and planning. Not to be skeptical but most of your projects are still in the planning stage. All countries have plans. In Nairobi alone there is Tatu City that's already under construction and Northlands city that is where Centenary City is right now. In Lamu the biggest port on the continent is under construction - I would advice not to base your arguments solely on what you see happening in Nigeria.
nwoke37: If ur talking about gdp per capita, Nigeria is higher than Kenya
I am not talking about GDP per capita. I am talking about average income. Now that you mention GDP per capita
Kenya = $1790 Nigeria = $1994
No big difference and considering your GDP per capita was more than twice ours five years ago, I can confidently say in the next 2-5 years, we'll be well ahead of you.
naijalander: That is exactly what Kenyan men do. Nigerian men take care of their women out of duty. It is your duty to care for your family. Your men only now how to drink Tusker and beat their women.
That is Nigerian men lol. You use money to attract women. You meet a woman and the first thing you do is brag about how much money you have and what you'll do for them. Even Kenyan women are using you - look at Vera Sidika - a random college dropout whose booty Nigerian men couldn't resist now she's a millionaire courtesy of low self-esteem of Nigerian men. Trying to argue against Nigerian men using money to attract women is harder than fighting the wind. That's a reputation you've perfectly earned. I wonder, is it due to the low standards of Nigerian women that when you guys meet a foreign woman you're willing to spend all your lives savings to get her or is it just acute low self esteem?
Kenyan man sef dey follow us drag woman, wonders shall never end.
Facts are not delusions my friend. You need to be a special type of dumb not to understand men with low self esteem use money to attract women. You're the one who's delusion.................and next time post in English. Your last sentence makes no sense.
