From all your comments I can see that you are ignorant and your so called mechanic is not much different from you.In the end you will replace that engine or gear or both.You think 5w30 is expensive but you have over 1m to buy a 2005 corolla

Better you service the ride with recommended oil and let a competent mechanic have a look at it(reason i asked your location)

Let me share my experience in a commercial bus 5 years ago.That was the last time i was ever in one and God willing it would remain that way.

I was returning to my official base in Asaba after a Sallah break in lagos.Left my car in Lagos and decided to take commercial transport .We took off from jibowu and i immediately noticed the driver was on a death wish.Mad revving,acceleration and manoeuvres you could only imagine.I was at the rear so didn't bother with speedometer reading as I could feel the speed myself.By the time we left toll gate it was out of hand,we started shouting and the driver ignored.At sagamu I yelled i wanted to get down that i wasn't traveling again(was planning to go back and pick my car before some lunatic killed me) passengers and bystanders started appealing and after heated bashing of the driver I continued the journey on assurance of sanity.We did 90km/hr max from sagamu to onitsha and arrived safely at past 4pm(left lagos at 7am).Better safe than late and thereafter i vowed to drive myself or fly and 5 years down no inter state commercial bus for me.

So if you call my attention to the little piece of paper that i need to expand ,your name will not be your name abi?8 from left gives me MY.I have seen what i was looking for.Happy Sales

Boss the above doesn't follow and no disrespect meant so don't pick offence .For an oil dealer i think you should know that if one's recommended grade is 0w20 then by all means he needs 0w20 (winter or desert heat).Do you have 5w30 normal and extended in 1 ltr cans and how much?

please fellow benz lovers, what steering fluid do you use? the one that came with the car is short. its a 2005 ML 350 SE. some one was recommending a Dextron 3 grade fluid, but all i see around (TOTAL/Mobil) is Dextron 2 grade .
any ideas

Oando Dextron 111 is available at all oando stations at 1k for 1ltr.

Just consider how much you have and can get it.The model you have chosen is a great car and no inherent faults.Just scan and pick a healthy one .cheers

Intersting topic and am gonna respond from practical experience.I have a Honda Accord i have used for seven years,same engine and gearbox.I removed the thermostat last month cos it has failed and wanted to see the workings will be before replacing it.What i didn't do was to permanent the cooling fans(they still work with the temperature switch which i just replaced).At start up it takes longer time to get to the desired temperature so more fuel usage at start up but once the car heats up, the engine works well and at steady temperature compared to when the thermostat was faulty.My water hoses are not swelling up and with the AC on which is 98% of the time the engine works well.In summary the only advantage for me is that engine seals that usually melt because of max heated temperature leading to oil leakages is now non existent.Please don't try removing on German products..benz,bmw.audi cos u will regret.And am gonna go to ladipo next week and replace the thermostat.

Life experience: Was going to an interview @ lekki this week Wednesday.

Was about entering brt but there was no change so I collected transport fare from a guy and a woman.

Through that, the guy started conversing with me upon entering the bus and made sure he sat beside me.

To cut the long story short,he asked of my name;degree status and so on....i was thinking at the back of my mind that these people have come again.

Without mincing words,I told him straight away that I don't talk with a stranger but for him to impress me he made a fake phone calls............. .
