Okay to all my ogas in the house pls kindly assist as I've been having this issue with my car for almost 3 weeks now.

About 4-5months ago my key feel into a very deep gutter and after about 1hr of getting it out it corrupted the ignition and the brainbox shut down the car entirely.

Removed the ignition mouth took it to ladipo and a reprogram was done and car came back to life.

A month after car wouldn't start but after a while it will start until one Sunday when it didn't start at all. Kick start was replaced and car worked perfectly again.

Like 1 or 2 months after car won't start after putting it off but when another battery is used it starts well with just a single crank.

PS: Just a twist of the key on ignition my car usually start.

So, on this fateful night after clubbing to go home car didn't start... Lol used a friend's battery, no way!

Next morning my electrician came and as if he had a magical hands cars started without doing anything.

No no no!!! Oga how did you do it? Donut again. He did and car started what??!!

I did same, put it off and did same way he did, it started. Hmm!

We moved, and noticed gear wouldn't select very well. Hmm!

Now, this is the new starting technics, turn and hold key till car starts. The first few seconds of holding key you won't hear any cranking sound at all but after like 3-5 seconds it cranks and start and when you engage hear you'll hear a hit sound from the gear like it was forcefully put into gear. Instrument cluster will display error message (visit workshop) and the P sign would still display despite car in motion, gear won't exceed the 1st. No matter the distance covered.

But sometimes if car starts by just a single twist of the key everything works perfectly well, gear selects normally and the P changes immidately to R, N and D.

My electrician said it's my key, that I need to change it completely.

A friend is currently been frustrated with his W203 C180.

EC light keeps coming on, refused to go when manually reset except a scan tool is plugged to reset the system. No error from scan tool.

And when ever this light turns red the AC compressor shuts down and ac won't cool until a scanner is used to clear it b4 the light goes off.

Anyone with similar experience should kindly assist.

I saw Mannoil Api SP, GF6 and when I scanned the bar code, it revealed Api Sn ilsac 5. I did scan the ATF for Benz and it revealed hydraulic oil. Your engine in the market is costly, look for the best oil.

Lemme scan the bar code and send to you......one customer was even using date of manufacture to buy...Nothing we never see.

Oya let us ignore fuel economy (though you mentioned it first) and break it down. Are you saying the kompressor is equally as reliable as the c320?

More reliable....apart from engine parts , the body parts and arms/shocks are the same except for the 4matics of C320 which are more expensive.The red top engine is built like a tank it takes 7 litres(for a 4 potter those engineers in stuttgart know what they did) of oil as against the C320 which takes eight. Even the speed i gave to C320 counts from above 150km/h because on a sprint race the C320 will only go past me at that speed. That is why those that know call the Red top a cheat.

I always envy those that know how to buy full tank,drive kinikan kilometers and do reset and calculate fuel economy. dy/dx is far more easier for me to calculate as I dey like this

If you assume i care about how much i spend on fuel because i mentioned economy then you need to have a rethink.

Bro i drive a Benz( everyday use) that's more economical than a corolla, performance wise ( need for speed on long travels) of course the C320 has it. Maintenance cost...both the same.

500km journey isn't the reason to get worked up over choice of vehicle..even beat up Santanas and Peugeot 504s can do 500km without sweating much

The person above me has given you correct advice as per your stated choice of c230k...Go for the c320 and avoid those Kompressor Mercs.

Very few people will be ready to dissipate energy advising you on an endless list of cars that if in good condition and so maintained, can do even 2000km at a stretch without coughing..

Nothing wrong with the Kompressor bro. The C200 Red Top Kompressor is as good as the C320 and slightly better in economy.

Experienced this years back, when am still using that model.
The culprit was a stuck alternator, I even thought my engine was knocked.

Just do this first.....
Remove the fan belt and start.....
Do this immediately and let's see

Stuck compressor can also cause it. Hope the guy is a DIY guy else he wont be able to get that belt off.

Get the red topm111 engine, that's what I drive, bulletproof engine, tho it's year is 2000 - 2002, but you can still upgrade the instrument cluster, radio and climate control to match that of 2005 model
