Eve was one of the few good female rappers back in the day. Although, when she had hits, some people on Nairaland were still breastfeeding, or not even conceived. ![]() This was the song that made her a household name in 1999 before other hits rolled in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUEQ7BmGh9k |

Ugosample:We're only 12.2% of the total population, and blacks generally hate to vote, so 8% is actually not that bad. |
soberdrunk:Fortunately for us, that category of gun totters fall into the minority, in the grand scheme of things. Not exactly a big fan of Hillary, but will vote for her in November. Hopefully, Bill rubs off on her, because he was a heck of a good president. Except for getting the Lewinsky special topping in the oval office, of course. ![]() |

akinjuly77:When you post a duplicate article, always provide the source. Otherwise, it appears as if you're the author. |

englishmart:Since the human eye and a camera lens work exactly the same way, by your above logic, I'll assume you drive your car at night without a need for headlights. ![]() You don't need headlights during the day, so why should you need them at night? Your ISO and shutter speed controls are how you get additional light into your shot. Assuming you're using a camera with manual controls, that is. If not, then you're limited to the auto-settings of your camera phone or other point and shoot cameras. Most of which aren't really capable of such night shots. Which I assume is the problem you're facing. |
deloon:Haha. Terrible would be putting it mildly. It was all manual settings, which I didn't really have time to set on the overpass. Auto-settings would have produced better results with less effort, but that's for amateurs. When I saw the first result, I abandoned the shoot before a cop would appear. My photography skills weren't nearly as bad as the pic suggests, but it makes its point. I still have it because most image files from my college day camera are still in a folder on my desktop. |
deloon:False. Certainly, Nigeria's power problems aren't arguable. I lived in Nigeria a long time ago, so I know. However, the power issue has very little to do with this particular case. It has everything to do with proper night time photography technique. I'll give you a personal example. About 7 or 8 years ago, I took the dark, blurry image below with a DSLR camera at night, for a college photography class. I parked on the overpass, put my hazard lights on, and attempted a quick shot of the Boston skyline. Safe to say that attempt failed woefully. Why? Because I knew little about proper image capture at the time, and my settings were bad. It doesn't mean Boston has a power problem. The bad pic is my failed attempt, and the second is someone else' image of the same place, from the same place, at night. I hope my statement makes more sense now.
|
englishmart:First off, you picked the wrong part of town to take a night skyline image of. Second, you have not used proper photographic methods in capturing the night time images. People often think photography is just the act of clicking a shutter. What ISO settings did you use? What shutter speed was used? If you can't answer, then you wouldn't be able to capture that wallpaper looking image you were hoping for. |
kenonze:The Central Business District is actually in the Abuja metropolis as well. It isn't a satellite town. |
Dee60:Any such news coming out of Nigeria no longer alarms me. Same people responsible will still be elected or appointed to head government affairs, even if indicted or convicted. I find it incomprehensible. |
This seemingly new Nigerian trend of exclusively reporting on Kenyan news ONLY if it is a sex scandal is unhealthy. It is no different from major networks only showing starving African children on the news when Africa is mentioned. |
Naira free fall. Nigerian banks will find a loophole to circumvent detailed reporting. |
She does look like her. |

Nope! |
The guy talking about robbers removing his roof was funny. What kind of robbers remove roofs? ![]() |
eddyjibs:My EXACT sentiment. It's always easy to point fingers when we're not the victims. |
I think the report meant to say "368 to 375" and not "268 to 375." |
Damn, Nokia used to be a true industry leader with revolutionary devices, but fell off real hard. |
The 3am guy. That's me right now. |
![]() Other than the high school pic, the one with Tuface is actually the oldest. |
donspero:Not really. For two reasons. 1. Megabits and Megabytes are two different things. 75 megabits per second (which is what you see there) = 9.37 Megabytes per second. 2. Speedtest.net values are usually closer to what your plan states, rather than the true upload and download performance. e.g My home cable internet (Comcast) is 105mbps down. Speedtest.net shows around 90mbps when tested, but when a true test is done, it amounts to about 50mbps. By true test I mean a speed test site where it actually downloads and uploads a large file to your browser to test its true speed. |
I'm not sure if people are only kidding about not understanding the "Nigerian-born British-Ghanaian" part. However, that just means one of her parents is British, the other Ghanaian and she was born in Nigeria. The Nigerian ethnic equivalent would be: "A Kano born Igbo-Yoruba girl." ![]() |
Why are people standing in queue? Are they really going to get on the bus in that condition? |
