First of all, "secure the kids future" is NOT parents' way of GUARANTEEING success. NO ONE can guarantee success.

"Securing the kids future" means giving them MORE and BETTER opportunity to succeed. For instance, a child born abroad would not have to suffer the STIGMA of carrying the accursed Nigerian Passport.

Their kids would not have to deal with "praying for divine healing" just because medical institutions don't have the simplest drugs or equipment.

ALSO the idea that a Public University in Nigeria is better than an unknown university abroad is a HAREBRAINED one.

The No. 1 University in Nigeria is UI. YET, it has a Webometrics world rank of 1,144. In other words, there are 1,143 Universities and Colleges out there that are FAR BETTER than the best University in Nigeria. And MOST of them are UNKNOWN to you.

That a University is unknown to you does NOT mean you can question their merits or compare them to what you have in Nigeria. It's a testament to your ignorance NOT a failure on the part of the schools.

Your point that there is no proof that kids born abroad are more successful is also pretty DUMB. An average child born in a society that works is ALREADY a 1000X more successful than an average child born in a SHITHOLE like Nigeria.

Finally, people who apply to schools abroad KNOW what they are doing. First of all, it's not easy to get a job similar to the one you have in Nigeria.

The job will need to provide visa sponsorship. That's a hurdle that most companies are UNWILLING to cross for someone without LOCAL experience. Especially, when they can choose from people already in the country.

The Student's Visa route put their feet in the door. Plus, a degree from an "unknown" Local University would do MORE good than a degree from the BEST university in Nigeria.

In short, FLEEING Nigeria to secure your kids future by ANY means whatsoever is LAUDABLE. Even if it's through an esoteric course in an OBSCURE University. It's still a WORTHY undertaking.
