Why are folks shocked that Ghanaians actually understand Nigerian local politics, and know who is causing problems in Nigeria? They are very smart and hard working people.
I remember while growing up in Onitsha how Ghanaians hustled like average Igbo in Onitsha to eke out a living. They were into everything, from skilled labor to music. They are also the most educated English speaking country in the west coast of Africa and so they can analyse things. But above all, they hosted the famous Aburi meeting which was supposed to avert the civil war.

I have also said it here on NL that Igbos have more in common (behaviour-wise) with Ghanaians, than with most Nigerian tribes, expect perhaps the Ibibio/Annang. So, they understand us more.

I'm happy that our case is gradually finding its feet on the international scene.
