Bliss4Lyfe:
Ojukwu alive represented the continued rebellion against Nigeria and the Western Allies.(with the exception of France) He gave us reason to believe nothing was lost but all was gained. We never for once wished him death but long life. For as long as he lived Biafra was alive and well.

Ojukwu may have returned to the loving arm of God the Creator, but his legacy is with us any day, any time. We the children of the land of the rising sun will follow his footsteps if and wen the time comes. cry angry

yet  the ikemba died in uk, ran away when all was lost, very fearless

comparing yourselves to germany and russia, the civil war destroyed the thought of biafra forver, leaving ojukwu an angry and dissappointed man, that is nothing to be proud of, actually starting to feel a little sorry for the old guy, wife cheated, lost his war, was unknown, no one cared for him

renewnaija:
That a tribe is defeated is not a thing of shame. The Igbos are bold, fearless and industrious. Do defeats to Germany, Russia mean they are not great countries? I dont need to tell you about their history pre & post colonial times (in which Ojukwu was a part of after independence).

This is not a thread for defending, praising or insulting them. Just wanted to pay my respects to their leader.

Besides I'm not Igbo.
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu (Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu) Is Dead by namfav(m): 2:18pm On Nov 26, 2011
the unity that you speak of, ended and became one of the worst defeat to the ibo tribe in there history

renewnaija:
RIP Ojukwu.

You were a rare leader. You united Igbos for a single cause, something very few persons & tribes have learned to do in Nigeria, past & present.
Even though that cause might have unconsciously made that whole SS & SE tense, I respect you cos you represented Igbo unity. They have really lost a leader.

When a man (or region) sees war, he never remains the same. Werent Igbos supposed to more united after this man's dream?

My condolences to Igboland.

Hope he accepted Jesus before his journey.

PoliticsRe: Ojukwu (Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu) Is Dead by namfav(m): 12:36pm On Nov 26, 2011
when people start making his grave a shrine, we are in danger as a nation, a war criminal who hasn't faced the music being mourned means that we have bad apples in our nation, as somoene has said, an unmarked grave is the only thing that can be acceptable to make some peace, some of us haven't forgot the war and have lost people trying to defend what we stand on today
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu (Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu) Is Dead by namfav(m): 12:10pm On Nov 26, 2011
sarduna and balewa have achieved alot, we can not forget what they did for us, they gave us unity, influence and dignity, one thing we can never forget, ojukwu has not given you anything, he made you worthless

olyivy:
At least he died peacefully. Not so for some of his compatriots.

Awolowo died bitter and committed suicide, sarduana was shot on top of his wives, belawa's  body was found rotten, shot and dumped on a roadside.

Do you need more?  tongue
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu (Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu) Is Dead by namfav(m): 12:04pm On Nov 26, 2011
dont stress for nothing, he has not given you anything, neither won you anything, he ran away from you when you needed him the most, cheer up, dont let it ruin your day smiley

babestella:
@namfav and @executinal, @sheyguy

You all are big fooooooools, you probably cannot and will never live up to 1% of your dreams before you join him. Ojukwu struggled for what he believed, to liberate his people and you are hear on nairaland talking about what you don't even know, judging him as if you will go to heaven, shame on to you for talking badly about a man who is dead, if you are given an opportunity to step into his shoes, will you be able to achieve 0.0001% of this man's achievement.
Watch your mouth your northern fools, someday your northern idiotic brothers will have themselves to blame. You simply have exposed the kind of  you all are.

, silly bandits that you all are.
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu (Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu) Is Dead by namfav(m): 10:21am On Nov 26, 2011
i didn't like him when he was alive for the things he did, i am not going to his grave to spit on it, i dont disrespect the dead, he will have to answer for what he did. of course we all die, that is the beauty of life  grin the rest is memories
from him we came from to him we will return

andyanders:
@namfav

For you to say that Ojokwu should rot in hell, you too will follow him any moment from now so that you will go and meet Ojokwu. B4 his burial, you will be waiting there for him since you dont have respect for the dead.
You think you cannot die? You will even be there b4 Ojukwu is buried.
