Reference: Credibly well in what way. The yardstick we use to rate leadership in Nigeria is just so ignorantly mediocre. The quality of leadership is legacy, the ability to sustain and improve quality. Even generation after generation of the humble mosquito has improved capacity and productivity. If a lion (what you call Ibori) gave birth to a dog (what you called puppy faced Uduagan) who did next to nothing in 8 years, then Ibori is the sole cause. Look at Lagos State. That is a small example of good leadership, the ability to REPRODUCE SUCCESS in increasing measure. That is why the expectations of Lagosians is so high and their governors have no option but to perform. What has been the performance of subsequent Delta governors. Lagos has developed a system of good governance.
The reason why folks are crazy about Ibori is out of starvation. They long for the 'good old days'. That in itself shows Ibori failed because he should have institutionalised his successes so whether he is there or not Delta will be great. So I don't buy this 'strong man' mentality. It is failure, pure and simple. And I say it for this federal government. The legacy it leaves will be the yardstick of its quality, not some borehole here and there or some tarred road, but the ability to build institutions by its selfless actions. IBORI BUILT INSTITUTIONS FOR HIMSELF. HE IS AN INSTITUTION. THAT IS FAILURE. I don't really have time to enter into any windy discourse with you but you seem not to understand the dynamics of power and politics and human nature in general. Ibori looted fund. Yes. He brought unprecedented development to the state. Unarguably so. He left structures and infrastructure that still stands till date. If you understand the dynamics of human nature, you would understand that the human mind is unfathomable. Udaughan not performing is not a failure on the part of ibori. Let's leave chaff and discuss the object. You mentioned tinubu of Lagos state. My friend you are one funny dude. That jagaban is a bigger thief than ibori. He is now a saint because he is with the ruling party. You guys are hypocrite. Tell me tinubu's legacy. Tell me the institution that he built |

[quote author=Justdulla post=52260065]I am well informed he didnt post the picture himself, all am saying is this it doesnt have to be an open affair, if it's the government, its fine but religious leaders shouldn't show off when it involves blessing people. It's a right not a priviledge. They have been put in a position to bless others, it doesnt have to be publicized. This same woman could have been called any given day and presented this car without any pomp or pageantry. That is how the other day Bornos governors wife wanted to give women foodstuff to celebrate christmas, the whole press corps were present there. This will make you doubt if their intention is actually pure or its just a show off. I have got an uncle, an engr that has dug hundreds of boreholes in his community and even refurbished the community clinic, he has never been caught on camera he avoids it like a plague cos his words are 'I havent seen God before but he blesses me why then do I have to show myself to everyone before i bless them'.[/quote

momentarylapse: We are dealing with the topic of the thread which is ibori so please don't go off point! He may not be the only corrupt goat in nigeria but when we jam on another thread dealing with another man's crimes then we can chop it up!
What development are you even talking about? The one in oghara or the entire state! Delta is still backward, with poor infrastructure, poor educational facilities and environmental challenges so what are you hinging your praise for him on? Even his brother that came after him also stole you guys blind! Abeg make we see road! Corruption is relative. I am not proud of his actions but the way you guys go about him makes me sick. We have bigger thieves in Nigeria and we cannot be treating one small fry in isolation. I find your position quite worrisome. So because the topic centers on ibori, we cannot treat or discuss other issues related to this? This quite a narrow view. I want to believe you are not situated in delta state and hence cannot measure the pulse of the people. I have spent over 3decades in delta state and I qualify to speak extensively on affairs that bothers on delta state and the Niger Delta at large.pls and pls, don't rely on news paper reportage. We are on ground here and we say the man did credibly well. End of Discussion |

That's all you ss people know! Praising looters and killers who cheat you people and come back to oppress and laugh at you all!
Rubbish! While I don't support embezzlement, but can you honestly tell me that ibori is the only corrupt person in Nigeria. Is amaechi, buhari, wike, tinubu, saraki etc not corrupt? What about babachir, Danjuma, abacha, babangida, sanusi, el rufai, kalu are these one saints also? I may not liked what he did, but ibori brought massive development to delta state. No governor dead or alive of delta state has surpassed his achievement. That is why he is so much loved. Come to delta state and see the up swelling of love for him. 108. nams77: |

Dereformer: thank you so much. Welcome. I know this has been a big problem to many. Though I never encountered such problems. Like I said earlier, start from close friends and family. Ask them to assess your performance and tell you where to improve on. First thing you must know is that everyone experiences stage fright mostly at the beginning of any speech. You must know its Normal. Things to do... Always prepare yourself before hand. Prepare your scripts and rehearse in front of family members. Arrive at the venue on time and relax yourself. Don't rush in late as this will get u all tensed up, nervous and forgetful. Itemize your script and points in bullet forms..this keeps you coordinated and focused. Lastly an old trick, when presenting a speech as a beginner, look above the heads of people, but when you have become a master in the act, it is important to maintain eye contact with your audience as this connects them to you. For my I like making eye contacts because it helps me gauge the feelings and emotions of the people. It gives me vital feedbacks whether they are interested, tired or their interest is waning.I hope this helps |

1wolex85: Oga you need to calm down. Nobody is preventing anybody from having access to their money Yes there is shortage of physical cash, people should use other channels, if you take your atm to a shop and pay via atm or you transfer money, it will still go. So it is wrong to say people are being denied access to their money CBN has focused so much on the Dollar issue this year that they have not expanded on their cashless policy. That is the real issue. ed this on an earlier thread, What CBN needs to do is deepen the implementation of Mobile Money. In Kenya, once I have your phone number, I can transfer money to you. This also saves a lot of money in printing cash. Another option is to take advantage of cash based businesses and use them as mobile money agents. For example, I should be able to walk into a Petrol station or supermarket, deposit money in their account through their POS and they give me the cash equivalent. It will help this businesses reduce their cash calls and bank trips. Oga, I strongly believe you are from another planet...a planet called Utopia. What you stated above is an ideal situation, but sadly in Nigeria, it is the reality that is in operation. How many tomato, onion, crayfish and garri seller use what you just stated above. Let's not start giving excuses for the failures of our government. It emboldens them |

This man's name should be changed to James Robin Ibori While I am not in support of his looting, ibori did more than all the governors of delta state combined. He brought unprecedented and gigantic development to delta state and opened up the hinterlands. He may be crooked but ask any deltan and you will hear praises of him. His he the only one that looted? What about jagaban, abacha, Danjuma and the rest? You guys are suffering from selective amnesia. If ibori comes out as governor or president today, I will still vote him.
