gej is learning well from uncle sege When people that claim to be progressives dont read before they comment and show off this annoying level of prejudice, it makes me want to throw up. The report says the action is based on a court order and you did not even bother to find out the story behind the order. Nonsense. Sports › Fg Cant Probe Us, We Are Answerable Only To Fifa , Ogunjobi, Lulu Tell Efcc by naso2(op): 4:09pm On Oct 06, 2010 |
Trials of the quartet of Alhaji Sanni Lulu, Mr. Amanze Uchegbulam, Dr. Bolaji Ojo-Oba and Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, who were being tried for alleged N1.3 billion fraud while they were officers of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), suffered a setback, on Tuesday, at a federal high court sitting in Abuja, just as the accused raised a preliminary objection on the jurisdiction of the court to hear the matter.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) had earlier slammed a 10- count criminal charge on the former NFF officials of which they all pleaded not guilty, after which the court admitted them to bail and adjourned the matter for hearing to Tuesday.
When the matter came up for hearing, on Tuesday, the second, third and fourth accused through their counsel, Chief Akin Olujinmi(SAN) and Mr. Omokayode Dada, brought a preliminary objection on the jurisdiction of the court to entertain the matter. Counsel to the third accused, Kayode Dada, said the application was premised on the grounds that the Federal Government did not have any right to legislate over football related matters under the constitution, adding that the NFF had an act regulating its affairs which was tailored after FIFA statute. Dada further stated that the charges preferred against the accused persons bothered on the breach of Criminal Act, EFCC Act and Public Procurement Act, adding that since NFF was not being regulated by such Acts, it could not be binding on the accused and as such they could not have breached the provisions of such laws. He, therefore, urged the court to look into it and determine whether it has jurisdiction or not.
Responding to the application, the prosecution counsel, Chief Titus Ashaolu, informed the court that the application was just served on them in the court, and, therefore, prayed the court for a short adjournment in other to respond to the preliminary objection raised by the accused and to regularise his proof of evidence, adding that the prosecution witnesses were ready to testify.
None of the accused counsel opposed the application for adjournment. The presiding judge, Justice Donaltus Okorowo, therefore, adjourned the matter till November 4, 2010 for argument of the preliminary objection.

Dont get me wrong, el-rufai may be right, but statements like this should have been at a venue and time indepedent of SNG. |

@idupaul , paddy_lo, sbeezy8 I sincerely thank all of you for feeling our pains at this time. If this chance burns, we all know that the ND will burn, and when the ND burns then Nigeria burns, its as simple as that. All these politicians that have collected money to scuttle this chance do not even know what they are toying with. I all need GEJ to really really talk less that is his only small flaw for now. Ibime: The way he is going on about it with do or die politics, I don't doubt.
Jonathan as Preso will not put food on any Niger Deltans table anymore than OBJ alleviated the poverty of the Yoruba masses. PDP has nothing to offer, so no need hoping on false Gods. If they are not careful with their do or die politics, this may be the last civilian President for a while. What? did you actually say this? very very very untrue. As touching the call for true federalism as against having a south south president. i just laugh at this idealistic claims. How and who will give you true federalism now with the present composition of the NASS? The SS delegates to OBJ's hurried national conference could not even convince other delegates why derivation should be moved to 25% . where you not in this country? A SOUTH SOUTH president is 100 times easier to get than true federalism. If jonathan gets 4 yrs and the SS see no changes , then he would have confirmed that the SS is actually cursed. With the present composition and revenue generation capacities in the country, you cannot and I repeat cannot have more than 8 of the 36 states supporting true federalism. It will surprise you to find that even in the nearby SE, not more than 1 state will suport it. If getting the ss to produce the president is so difficult and some are saying we should chase true federalism instead I will only ask a question from the bible: " if you get tired in a race against people, how can you possibly run against horses? If you fall in open fields, what will happen in the forest along the Jordan River? " Jer 12:5 |

what next?. . .the president will prob want to celebrate Christmas at some point!
just remembered. . isn't it the same Jonathan that got a 7 billion naira house?. . .i don't want such presidents!
7 billion naira if spent at 200 million will build 35 state of the art schools with the the best technology across the country!
but hey no, our President deserves a good house!
1 billion naira if budgeted for student loans at 10 million per Nigerian child will see 100 million Nigerians going to school in their life time, guess what? we just spent the money on dustbins---quite appropriate you think?
Once again, I'm not asking for miracles, all I'm asking for is a man who is smart enough to make better decisions that will have a better long term value for the average Nigerian, surely, that can't be too much to ask, don't you think?
oh!. . i haven't even stated the amounts shamelessly spent on rice Explain the text in bold please. |

GEJ still has the chance of winning the battle for the masses.Simply allow true federalism and your opponents become worthless. Why this guy dey talk like small pikin na? True federalism yes ,but is it something the president can just command and it will appear? How popular is true federalism in the entire nation? How can you pull that through now with the present composition of the NA? Even a state as close by as OSUN is against true federalism not to talk of Jigawa and kebbi states. |

Yes we know these are trying times for the presidency, but if you know what happened to GEJ during the sick UMYA days and when UMYA was flown in, and all the plans lined up to nail GEJ, you will come to agree that these times are not really more difficult than the ones GEJ has seen. @Gbawe
Do you know the difference between arresting someone , and inviting him for questioning? I cant connect with this your long essay. On the one hand you are saying 0.1% link with terrorism should warrant outright arrest and detention, on the other hand you are saying the text message is not believable by even a 5-yr old.
Dokpesi was invited to report to ths SS office by 10am, he was released by 11pm after questioning. Now tell me where arrest dey for the mata? |
Politics › Re: Time Has Come For Gej To Leave The Stage by naso2(m): 9:28am On Oct 05, 2010 |
idupaul: Yes Azzazi is nt competent to be NSA . It is always better to have an ex security person who has clout within the nations security forces. Azazi was a nyamanguru officer during his service years. I am nt blaming gej for the FIFA ban but i meant the ban came at the wrong time as the opposition wil use it clamour as GEJ incompetence. kai are you serious? . So how did gusau become the NSA? Whats the difference between Gusau's background and Azazi's? you no get case for dis one abeg. find another excuse. If GEJ is not to blame for fifa ban then why did you connect him to that? forget what the opposition will say, they really need to say something, but that changes nothing. |

idupaul: Gej is over heating the polity with the way he is handling this bomb thing is very boyscoutish. In the last 3 day he has handled the affairs of our nation very immaturely as if he has a pact with the western world to breakup the nation. GEJ has gotten it wrong this time even if it was Ibb that planted the bombs. And why in Gods name did he have to appoint Azzazi as his NSA now . By appointing azazi he has jst put the govt in harms way by means of a forced ouster. To make matters worse the western world connives with FIFA to ban the nation thereby setting a stage for an sin assembly of violence in coming days. Sad What exactly is your point here?post does not make any sense. Are you saying Azazi is not competent, or that the office of NSA is zoned to the north too? What exactly has GEJ got to do with the FIFA ban? |
Politics › Re: Dokpesi Is Released by naso2(m): 9:01am On Oct 05, 2010 |
otokx: GEJ should change his National Security Adviser at once, he should also relieve the SSS boss of his duties, you do not go arresting people until you have concrete and strong evidences. This guy is simply playing into the hands of IBB who will now be getting sympathy votes in otherwise weak areas. I am so ashamed of what is happening. Dokpesi was not arrested. He was invited for questioning. The SS invited him, he went, was questioned and now asked to go. I just hope he will not be foolish to start talking nonsense now. Anybody and I mean anybody can be invited for questioning on this matter. |
