PoliticsRe: Should The President Resign? by naso2(m): 11:02am On Oct 18, 2010
Abagworo:
If the President was not involved then what he should do as an upright leader is to prosecute those in his campaign team that were quoted as mentioning IBB and other northerners. That will serve as a deterrent to those that always try to tribalise sensitive issues.
source please. Who in GEJ'S team mentioned IBB or some northerners? If the SS finds it necessary to clarify issues from Dokpesi, then tell me what is wrong in that?

My friend why not just say hi to NL if you have nothing useful to say, rather than starting these senseless threads?

And so? How much do you guys  think that criminal called Blatter would have asked for? Adamu's problem is that his low IQ made him demand for it in the crudest nigerian way. Fifa is fraud, Blatter  is answerable almost to no one.

When we  said all these guys managing our football are corrupt , Fifa  flashed their useless "Interference" card. Now lets see how they handle this.

Mend claims that FG was aware of the plot to bomb, Okah also makes same claim.

Now , except you think you have more info that the SSS, why was okah's home in faraway SA searched, when the tompolo's , boyloaf's were not subjected to such? Probably because the govt was able to track where the threat was coming from- Henry okah.
PoliticsRe: Jarus & Kwara Politics by naso2(m): 7:53pm On Oct 15, 2010
Jarus:
I strongly doubt that. I spent the first 18 years of my life in Kwara and still follow the state politics, but what many people don't know is that Saraki is in full control of Kwara Central, which alone constitutes 55% of the voting populace. He has great followership in Kwara North too. It is only those of us in Kwara South that constitute the opposition and our population is very insignificant. They can win election without us.

Furthermore, like I mentioned in that article, majority of the people that actually vote are these poor women, who are ready to queue for hours to vote for Olooye's candidate. Those of us that claim to be intellectual, elite, educated etc, are in the minority and we have a long way to go upturn the system.

So I honestly don't think Saraki will lose, even if the election was free an fair.
Jarus you have spoken "oracularly grin. Dont mind all these guys making noise from lagos and yankee who are not considering glaring realities on ground. In a free and fair election Saraki will win clean. I mean clean.  Women worship the man like a god. Yes i sense someone will ask if this is because of his 50 naira amala arrangement? Then i will say yes. There are a lot of commoners in other states that are worse off, who  have not had the benefit of even 20 naira, either in kind , cash or any form of govt presence. I dont like saraki, but the guy has it politically.

Saraki's house is like a "crusade  ground", even during off periods in politics. Dem no tell me and i no read am for book .I see am with my korokoro eyes.

Now talking about Gbemi's candidacy, saraki has the wherewithal to harness 80% of women in kwara to support the move and with that, he needs only a fraction of votes from the sharia-protecting men.

Another angle people need to consider, is that since every northern presidential candidate needs the votes from kwara, they will not risk criticising  Olusola saraki on his stance as that could backfire.

People should look at this issue from a neutral point of view.Don't say because you like a person you want to defend him at all cost. For me, there is something fishing between The President & Okah. The president came out hastily to say "They didn't do it",nobody is talking about that! Both Okah & The presidency have something hidden that we dont know. For IBB He is only a Joker, He can be Nigeria's president again in his dreams not in this life again.Let us be objective! Don't say because you like Goodluck Jonathan, you want to defend him at all cost.Don't trust a typical Nigerian politician, they're all the same.
What is this one talking about? The president simply meant that the real MEND had accepted amnesty, and that anything anyone did now in the name of MEND was going to be punished as the real actors of MEND had accepted amnesty. The question you need to ask now is if a unilateral action by Henry okah , now translates to an action by MEND, just becuase he has the email access? It is getting clearer that okah did this bombing with a few mercenaries. If you know the crime rate on campuses, it will not cost so much for someone to involve a few cult boys with proper monetary inducement.

You still have not imagined why the govt had to prompt the SA authorities to search okahs home extensively a day before the bombings? Jonathan's statement simply meant that okah cannot commit a crime and hide under mend's umbrella.

then it was dokpesi 'na we do am' ' meet us at ibb campaign office'

now it is okah

Kindly furnish us with your source that ben jessy and chima orlu are no longer wanted by the SSS? Do you know the names of the 9 other suspects so far arrested? let me get this straight though

they found receipts for arms

is okah not an arms dealer?

sort of like finding receipts for pc hardware in the house of a computer retailer
Arms dealer? or you meant licensed   arms dealer? now i want to ask where the license covers. Even  a licensed  arms dealer would have commited a crime if he did what orkah is accused of-- buying from an unauthorised source. Secondly reports showing the purchases from the dealer, such that arms can be properly tracked is needed, how can orkah explain this?

If the items so far gathered, dont point to a crime, you can be sure the SA police would not even bother presenting them

GBAM at the bolded!!!!!

Funny enough! Is the receipts before or after the amnesty programmes?
Evidences indeed!!!
i suspect you did not see this :
Prosecutors said they also found in Okah's home a Sept. 3 invoice from a Chinese company not registered to deal in arms in South Africa showing the price of rocket launchers, rocket-propelled grenades, hand grenades, guns and heavy artillery.

Becomrich’s always got good ideas but got misconstrued with his presentation probably because of his antecedent. If the Gift Certificate would work it would at least go a long way in solving some problems if not all considering the exchange rate that is Yed1.10 to N1.

By implication; if any of the Yoruba states governors got 500Billion Yed, in exchange to Naira, he would have made an additional N50Billion when if the 500Billion is well expended. These difference could be channeled into making infrastructure work without recourse to FGN allocation….just my thinking not Becomrich’s

Mikeansy and Gbawe seem to be taking turns now on who comes up with sensational  threads laden with  lots of misinterpretations these days, all to discredit Gej .

Just two days ago he created one thread "That Igbo Summit: Goodluck Jonathan Once Again Refuses To Uphold The Law". I saw the thread  and was shocked that something new had happened, then i opened the thread and alas , this is what i saw:

Now that the Presidency is denying responsibility for using the police to illegaly disrupt what is a lawful gathering by Igbos in Owerri.

Has President Jonathan ordered IG or anyone to investigate who gave those orders and bring whoever is responsible for such criminal order to justice?

This is a criminal use of the Nigerian Police and the least the Nigerian President can do is uphold the laws of the land or take responsibility for the criminality that went on.

Mere denial is not enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was simply stunned, that this same issue that Ohakim had taken responsibility for , two weeks ago, is now being escavated and linked to GEJ.

i believe every candidate running for the presidency has his own baggage, but when people create threads and shout without the requisite logic backing their claims it just makes me understand what politics can do to ones rationality.

Again this vey list from vanguard newspaper underscore the shabby journalism that characterize Nigeria's landscape! In civilizied societies, for such a list to be drawn up, a national poll would be taken based on sampled opinion, which in mmost cases are regional opinion samples. A national opinion is formed based on these regional opinion samples, which in most cases reflects the mind of the majority!

TRULY, NIGERIA WE STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO AND A VERY STEEP LEARNING CURVE TO ATTAIN!

Kobo the part on the use of telephone while in prison from the link you gave states:

Prisoners may make a phone call instead of a visit, and only  on weekends and public holidays. Group D prisoners may not make any phone calls; group A prisoners are allowed to make an extra twelve calls per year, in addition to those they might want to substitute for visits. Each phone call may last up to 10 minutes
Kindly explain what you understand by this.
PoliticsRe: Okah Speaks With Next Newspapers by naso2(m): 5:53pm On Oct 08, 2010
The phone call to NEXT, which lasted for five minutes, followed a telephone interview with the wife  of former leader of the Movement  for the Emancipation of the Niger-Delta (MEND), Henry Okah, (Azuka). During that chat, she promised to get in touch with her husband and set up an interview. A few minutes later, our phone rang, and the caller introduced himself as Mr. Okah.

This is a response to the puerile and opportunistic press statement jointly signed by the quartet of retired General Ibrahim Babangida, Aliyu Guasau, Atiku Abubakar and of course Dr. Bukola Saraki.

Let no one be surprised that we have chosen to leave out Bukola Saraki from the field of presidential contenders. It is an open secret that he does not want to be a president. Rather, he is a carpetbagger, a frontman for Babangida in the race for 2011 presidential elections. As for the three musketeers, this is a reply to their opportunistic attachment to the tragic Independence day bombing of Abuja.

Their argument is based on the Al Jazerra interview with Henry Okah and the perceived fascism that Dr. Jonathan is about to unleash on his perceived political opponents. In as much as one cannot deny the right to subscribe to a media of choice, but in this case, it is pertinent to note that these three musketeers are using the Okah interview with Al Jazeerah as a lifeline.

It is unfortunate that these men have chosen to hang on to the Al Jazeera interview with Okah to further foul an already fouled air. . Where was Al Jazeera when the Yardua cabal held Nigeria by the jugular for several months? Where was Al Jazeera when Nigeria was debased by these northern elements in the Yar'adua cabal? Is this a sign of the Samson Complex? The three musketeers have ruled and ruined Nigeria at various times.  They were neither productive nor innovative. The only thing they achieved was stupendous personal wealth. It is unfortunate that it is these same expired men who are angling to rule us again. Though Babangida pointed to building Abuja and conducting the freest and fairest election in Nigeria, he failed to appreciate the damage he did to the body polity of Nigeria by the annulment of the same election. It seems as if the general does not appreciate that a coup under any guise is like shooting one's parents. It is a sacrilege. His ultimate sin against Nigeria was the annulment of the June 12 election.

More than any one in the history of Nigeria, Babangida debased, despoiled and ruined Nigeria with his recklessness and grand scale theft of our resources. We are therefore anxious to have Al Jazeera interview Babangida as to the source of his stupendous wealth, the murder of Dele Giwa, the annulment of June 12, 1993 election, the mysterious place crash in Ejigbo suburb of Lagos. Will Al jazeerah please interview him as to why he is hiding behind the courts to escape the critical lenses of the Oputa panel.

Will Al Jazeera also want to interview Abubakar Atiku as to the source of his wealth? We all knew he was a civil servant, in the customs and excise department. A department of government known for a type of corruption that is even offensive to Hades. Will Al Jazeera want to be independent as expected to ask Atiku whatever happened to his case in the USA, the reasons for his hasty departure from the USA and why his wife Jennifer is on the wanted list in America. One hopes that Al Jazeera is not trying to insert itself into the high wire politics of Nigeria. A bystander who pulls a gun in a fight is no longer a bystander. He/she has become a combatant. We do not need the poster child of Al Qaeda in Nigeria.

One can safely place IBB in the same camp with Henry Okah, a merchant of death, an anti-social love-peddler; up for sale to the highest bidder. We will not fold our arms and let the so-called Northern leaders pile on Jonathan. It is not a matter of party affiliation; it is a matter of fairness. Where were these people and Al Jazeera when the Yar'adua drama was unfolding? Offices in Nigeria were headed by Northerners Have they suddenly forgotten the ignoble role they played keeping a dead man in power? Whatever happened to Al Jazeera when Christians were massacred in the North?

I wonder if they appreciate the figure of speech deployed by President Jonathan when he reiterated the tragic bombing was not a MEND affair. Let me take these people out of their ignorance. I risk saying that what the president did was to translate his native tongue into the English grammar. Of course it came out sounding otherwise. But for the avoidance of doubt, the message he was conveying was that a renegade group using the name of MEND was behind the bombing. He said no one could be more Niger deltan than him because his home was right beside an oil well with all the attendant environmental fall out. In that instance therefore, as we say in Africa it will only be a deviant child who will attempt to undermine his father. After all, it is only a wicked child who disrupts his father’s outing.

The fact that these people understood what Dr. Jonathan meant, but chose to play politics with it speaks volumes about them. It is a sign of desperation and irresponsibility. What stops Okah from waking up on another day to implicate these expired men in the same bombing? They forget that Okah is an anti social human being, a deviant with little respect for self and for society at large. How about the text message supposedly implicating Raymond Dokpesi, another social misfit, another social love-peddler.

What we ought to do now is to allow the investigations run its course and the rewards given to people implicated as deserved. Indeed, no one is above the law in Nigeria. Finally, one hopes that the three musketeers will get away from the dangerous adventure with Al Jazeera. We do not want the poster child for Alqaeda and the Talibans in Nigeria.

As for the president, Dr. Jonathan, it is not in your place and position to absolve MEND under any guise. It is not in your place to speak in tongues when it comes to the wickedness of MEND. I’m a Niger Deltan like you. But I speak English. I do not translate my local language into the English grammar because I happen to know that it will connote a different meaning. You need to stay away from inserting yourself into the middle of a tragic comedy. All responsible people from the Niger delta felt deep embarrassment by the Independence Day bombing. You need to allow the investigations take its course and the most severe form of punishment meted to all involved. In the interim, you need to reassess the security network around you. You may just be sleeping with the enemy. Be careful.

I saw this somewhere and liked it.

Plan (A) use your media house and scream that your life is in danger
Plan (B) Cause the Igbos (SE because most of them can readily sell their mothers) to be against Jonathan by (1) either blowing up their meeting venue or (2) at worst having them locked out
Plan (C) Use renegades of MEND to blow up important landmarks in Abuja and then cry out as the victim as soon as the investigation points to your direction
Plan (D) Capitalise on this and call for the Presidents resignation or impeachment
Plan (D) Use the religious angle by causing a bought over Christian to burn the Koran or vandalise the Mosque, possibly an Igbo or Niger Deltan
The polity must have heated up by now and finally Plan (E) Fellow Nigerians , and all the blah blah blah.
Well Gusau, IBB, Atiku, Ciroma and the hangers on, you guy are in for a big surprise.

I believe that Nigerians have grown beyond this parochial mentality. To prove to you that their interests are personal and not for the people they claim to represent you will notice that while this administration has spent considerable time and resources as well as focused attention on the recent floods in Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi and Jigawa states and the Cholera epidemic in certain parts of Nigeria as well as the lead poisoning that has consumed 400 children in Zamfara state, these so called concerned people have not been known to address any of these issues nor offer a word of succour to the victims.
