How did Diego miss that? |
Goal! |
There's nothing wrong with what Conte said. Many defenders don't hit their peak until between the ages of 28 and early 30s. Conte seems like a coach who can get players much better. |
dopeJemi:It's aiit mate. ![]() |
Infestation on an unprecedented scale. Grown men descending to pitiable depths of discussion just to win an argument. Cretins all over the place deliberately disengaging bare-level brain capacity and still feeling cool about it. Some deliberately forget the meaning of consistency. Others thinking Hazard is just like Salah? Seriously? Some people deserve a life-time ban on the back of some comments. |
Moses taking advantage of opportunities |
Suddenly, Hazard is in form, all forms of actors creeping out from their basement level sheds, telling us they've always said he's a good player. As if we were not all here when the names Hidden, Ikedia, Ikebe super were being thrown around. Those of us who tried steady the ship, asking for reason and common sense and playing for time for the poor guy were made to look like we were talking nonsense. As if the talent was never clear to be seen. |
Gooooaaalllllll |
My boy running the show. 1-0 |
Perhaps you are both wrong and right. I see no one of you had considered the fact that we set up for the last two games in a 4-3-3. This was never used last season. This (4-3-3), tactically, pushes more players higher up the pitch. This fact supports and negates elements of both sides' arguments. |
Oasis007:What's the aggression about? Isn't it obvious this is what I am saying? |
Dongorgon5:Sorry. I saw a report we went 4-1 up and Bat scored his third. |
Bat just got a hat-trick. |
Buffer:Good bless you. Some people trying to act like their families own Fighter Jets. Most people living in advanced countries have never seen a fighter jet in flight before. Unless one lives in proximity of an Air Force training base, setting eyes on a fighter jet, in flight, is a very rare occurrence. |
While I am not outrightly in support of Oscar starting ahead of Fabregas, I don't understand how everyone seems to be acting like it isn't obvious why. Conte is trying to make us defensively solid and hard to beat. So he is building from the back. For this reason, we must be careful not to be masking an argument in favor Fabregas, when the exact argument applies to him on the defensive side of the game. So Fab came in and made a perfect pass, then he should start ahead of Oscar. It's the same argument as saying Oscar had a good pre season so should start ahead of Fab. There are potential disastrous consequences of fielding Fab from the start and our defensive frailties from last season still exist, regardless of the consecutive wins. Conte however is looking at the stats of last season, looking at the most dribbled player in the team and thinking, how many goals might we have conceded by Fab's inability to defend before he is able to find that perfect one pass for that one goal? The solution actually lies right in between both players, a solution that Conte things he does not currently have. In my opinion, it is easy to align thoughts with Conte on the grounds of sacrificing a bit of attacking creativity for defensive solidity. |
Griffon:Those that have seen this fella know that with the right guidance, we have purchase a gem. The skill and composure the dude possesses, along with movement and ability to bring others into play, we have a top player. In no time, we will be wondering how he only cost £30m. |
I was mostly concerned with seeing if we could challenge. I believe we can. |
Brestar:At that time in the game, he was right. I worried as well at the seeming lack of creativity. That said Batshuayi is a very skilful and technical striker. |
My boy opens his account. Matic should be off. |
lalaboi:Me sef I shock. Lalaboi na sure guy na and FBS no dey react like that. I really thought your username changed. |
Nihilist:Academy Product bias wetin? How many players have I endorsed like that? You know many players dey on loan? We are talking about Bertrand that has been playing for the Burkinabes senior team since 15 and has already been to two ACNs 20. The Traore who previously went on loan to Vitesse Arnhem and scored 17 goals in the 14/15 season. For a lad who playing in the Chelsea reserves and youth team as a winger and wasn't playing in the striker position until he arrived at Vitesse. This is why I am confident he will do well. Not Academy Product Bias mate. You know how many youth games I watch? I don't come here endorsing all of them. |
Nihilist:Okay, I believe you are now mixing me up with someone else. Yes, I argued "for" the other side occasionally but this does not categorically make me anti-Emenalo. In fact, I like to believe (even though I don't actively participate in those debates anymore), that before you, I was the only Pro-Emenalo Chelsea fan on here. Those who know the history, know I have participated in very heated debates that almost led to wars on the subject of Emenalo. So yes, I do believe you are mixing me up with someone else. ------------------------------------------------------------- WRT to the Baba argument, though most times entangled with the Emenalo mantra, I have managed to speak about the subject so far without involving Emenalo. I will be interested in seeing any posts of mine that contradict this point of view. I am not opposed to the idea of a loan move. Never been. It must just make sense. Regarding Baba, Griffon just posted the perfect response. |
Nihilist:I did not see that coming at all. This means only one thing, a new striker is coming in. I still believe Remy is leaving. Traore will go out and become better. |
Ibime:I didn't know about Pasalic's injury. I heard about MvG's one though. |
mithel:It's now club policy to not sign players or offer renewed contracts to over 30s. Recently, only Lamps, Terry and Drogba have managed this but we all can understand why. |
Nihilist:If you are referring to Baba, then it won't. I believe Conte is setting the team up to eventually play a 3-5-2. So the failure to sign a left back may be more of a plan than a mistake. |
By the way, did no one tell Conte about Mario Pasalic? I expect him to be close to the first team. |
Nihilist:Because it was general consensus long before Conte (and finally confirmed by him) that we never had one. |
Emaprince:I hate when I see this. Do you think Roman still bankrolls the first team? |
Mahrez seen checking into Chelsea with Pictures. Mahrez's Agent : Chelsea want Mahrez. Nateevs: Yes Please. |
120 Million Euros for Pogba. This is what this dude wanted us to spend on one single player while he was here. Then another £50m on Stones. We didn't and he started throwing tantrums, tearing the walls down with him. God forbid we make that sort of transaction and this is with all the ridiculous transfers we have been known for. |
Nihilist:Because as with all loan moves, the loan club has no imperative to develop our players for us in the preferred roles. It will be painful (but not surprising) if Ake spends the whole season at LB. Meanwhile, welcome Pep to the PL. |
