debosky: Villas-Boas has admitted to making mistakes during his first season in charge and said Chelsea should be finishing ahead of Manchester United and Tottenham with the players at their disposal.
''We haven't had the results that we should have for the squad we have, and in normal circumstances we would be ahead of those teams,'' he said. ''We have been underperforming. But we can still improve for the rest of the season.''
Admission of failure from the lips of AVB himself, yet Sharon will come here defending the guy when he doesn't even defend himself.
What a cheek to hear Chelski complaining about someone paying excessive wages - when they started doing it in 2003/4 and pushing others out of the market they never thought they'd be in the position of being gazumped by Citeh. Payback's a binsh. WHat do you expect him to say. . "This is the height of this team, we can't improve any further and we are just about where we should be"?. Some guys just like to be on the other thread making comments. |

Sometimes just before Danny shoots, I wonder what he's thinking about. If only he attempts to make an assist half the time he shoots. |

dayokanu: What does AVB has against Lukaku.
Personally I would play him ahead of Drogba.
Having one of the most sought after youngsters in Europe and gluing him to the bench permanently AVB doesn't have anything against Lukaku. Word is Lukaku is deemed over-weight and under going an intense fitness regime. |

ritchboy: Arsenal's net spend in the summer was -17m
Squad players aside, this same Chelsea squad(minus Meireles/Mata/Sturridge post-Bolton) finished 2nd last season. Unless they've aged 5 years since May 2011, the age thing holds no water, like most Coogar/Nateevs postulations Dude we are not talking finance here. We are talking about total transfer against result achieved. Debo nailing AVB to the cross claiming he spent over £50m (When he actually spent £40m) and asking why he can't replicate his Porto feat. So I say, Wenger spent £50m in the same transfer window . . Why hasn't Wenger replicated his own unbeaten feat. Simple question. ------------------------------------------------ Secondly, I have not mentioned the issue of age. I only mentioned it in the past, not now. My bigger problem has been adaptability to a new style. Most Chelsea players cannot adapt and execute a new style well. A problem that has given a new manager who comes with a mandate to change things massive problems. My issue is with our transfer policy. How do you spend over £950m over 8 seasons and end up with a bunch of guys who cannot play a different way? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 4:14pm On Feb 22, 2012 |
I coogar: wenger spent £53m i repeat, wenger spent £53m
£10.6m - gervinho £12.0m - oxdale chamberlain £10.0m - arteta £10.0m - metresacker
£3.0m - park young £6.2m - santos £1.0m - joel campbell £0.4m - thomas eislfeld I decided to ignore the spendings on the youth players because I know what he'll come back with. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 3:58pm On Feb 22, 2012 |
I want to continue with this but jeez this just puts me off. Arguing like a blind man. debosky: Leave aside the unbeaten feat - Wenger's issues are down to spending constraints either self imposed or imposed due to a stadium move. AVB has spent money, he's brought in over £50m worth of talent yet he is struggling to be in the top 4. Wenger spent £42m in the transfer window. AVB spent £40m in the transfer window (Mata + Meireles + Romeu) I ask again. Why can't Wenger replicate his feat ? |
