@FBS.

My sincere apologies if my post came across in the manner you suggest. It's never my intention to act the boss. I only deemed it fit at that point time to point out, though a seemingly forgotten issue on here, nevertheless a very important one.

I respect opinions brought to the forum whether I agree with them or not. I extend the apology to anyone else the post may have offended.

azpekuliar:
The itch to always sack at the slightest whiff of a poor run of results is just too simplistic approach to the problem. I have always queried the sacking of Carlotti and not the appointment of AVB. What track record did he have apart from a hat-trick of trophies in Europe's second tier league and cup competition. He was only doomed as soon as he signed those dotted lines, and so will be the next, and the next, until Roman, Gourlay, Buck sort thier heads out. And mind you with financial fair play rules coming this one might not be so easy, if you factor in the $13m paid to sign him, expect the cost of sacking him to occupy a healthy percentage of our losses for the present financial year. The $28m cost of sacking Carlotti might just be child's play. Carlotti's sacking took this team 2 steps backward. We gotta live with that,
At last one Chelsea fan making some sense. You never hear Chelsea fans here discuss finances, FFP and it's implications. Many just want a manager fired yet want to play in the CL without considering that to play in the CL from 2013/14 onwards, you cannot make losses in excess of £38m.

With the last financial year reporting a loss of £67m, how is it possible to make the minimum target loss of £38m if we sack the current manager? Let's also not fail to consider that we will be signing new players. If we sack AVB, we cannot play in the CL from 2013/14 unless some miracle happens and we able to generate £50m more in revenue without spending a penny.

If we continue to hire and fire, we cannot keep our losses under control. Every new man that comes in wants their own players. Considering that our wage bill is about £170m - about 80% of revenue - it is crucial to realise that it is absolutely unsustainable. And the eventual situation is, we won't play in the CL anyway.

Louis Saha . . instant hit. It doesn't have to cost £50m to make a difference.

Well at least that's a difference.

Sometimes you cannot fault those who have a go at AVB.
That is a very shocking decision.

Mata out for Lukaku.

David Luiz has better vision that every player in our midfield.
How he is able to pick out passes while our midfield cannot beats my imagination.

They both look very unfit to me.

No one in the world would say Kaka hasnt lost some of his abilities since 2007.

In 2007 Kaka was the Best player in the world, Now he wont be named top 10
It's pace, sharpness, mental strength that all deplete with age.
Many players can still pull off what they think in their mind. .
The difference now is in the speed of execution, younger and quicker players are able to stop those moves.

It's depleted sharpness not depleted ability.

I thought a footballers ability is acombination of all these ingridients to start with? (Mental strength, physical strength, psychological stability)
Or what is ability in your context if its isnt a combination of the 3 already.
Its like saying a cripple would have won 100m is only he had legs
Ability is the natural talent that cannot be taught.
The others are ingredients you develop to enhance the talent and become top flight and stay there.

Kaka lost his mojo at 27 when he was one of d top 2 or 3 players in d world and most of us would agree dt he is YET to get it back.d guy is turning 30 soon, any bets on him getting back to d top?
Kaka had two serious injuries to his knees and could not feature often for Madrid.
Jose chose not to use Kaka in his first season and he lacked the fitness and tenacity Jose wanted in a player.
In the second season when the whole of Madrid complained about Jose's negative tactics, he brought in Kaka.

Have you seen Kaka play this season?

---------------------------------------------------------------

Also getting back to the top does not mean being in the top 10 in the world. Even at this point, there cannot be more than five players in the PL better than Kaka. Based on his performance this season, Kaka wil walk into any PL side. It's obvious you haven't watched him in a while.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 9:19pm On Feb 08, 2012
It's lazy analysis to suggest that players lose the ability.
Ability is not all there is to top flight football.
Mental strength, physical strength, psychological stability all count towards a player's performance at top flight.

Players can lose any of those critical ingredients and they will fall from grace. However, one thing never happens - they never lose the ability.

It's not about the points literally.
It's about the position on the table and how it affects fans.

Imagine how every fan will feel if we play at the Europa next season.
AVB will likely be sacked and then the whole experiment or whatever you choose to call it would still be a waste.
Well, this time last year after 25 we had 44 points and sitting in 4th.
Right now, after 24 games, we have 43 points and sitting in 4th.

No one knows still if AVB will be sacked even if we don't qualify for CL.
It would have cost the club over 40m pounds hiring and sacking AVB.
Last financial year, we lost 67m.
How much in total do we make from the CL?

This needs to stop someday doesn't it?

So far the experiment ain't working.
It's costing us points.
It's not an experiment. It's transition. It could be painful. We have to deal with it.
And to the issue of costing us points. . . Last season we finished second, do you know how many points we had at this very time last year?
44 points.

Torres will flourish at Barca or Arsenal.
I can't see him making a headway here.

Our style is very different.
Chelsea do not spoon feed strikers. You have to create your own luck.
Well, that type of style is what AVB is trying to force through.

With Torres in attack you should be grateful to win against Sunshine of Akure
He is a top player whose mental strength has disappeared.
The ability is clearly there as he's shown in the past.
He remains a Chelsea player, still 27.
And for as long as he still remains a Chelsea player, some of us will continue to believe he will come good.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 3:46pm On Feb 08, 2012

Exactly. Considering our very poor form it will be unwise to say our remaining fixtures are winnable.
We have to realize we have no potent attack, a shamble defence and a rookie manager.

Therefore saying that our games against the top 5 are winnable is sheer optimism. A leap of faith.
Only an optimist will say such a thing.

Let's don't overflog the issue, i will remind you after our next 5 fixtures. wink
We barely got a draw against Swansea and lost at home to Aston Villa.
We scraped a win against West Brom, we drew Wigan and barely won against Wolves and lost to QPR.

By your theory, it's a leap of faith suggesting that we can win any game at all if our recent form is what you are judging this on. However, you think we can win some games. Based on our recent form, that's optimism.

I am not different from you.

BlueDiva:
You are an optimist and i am a realist.
Of course everything is mathematically possible including us winning the epl this season.
In truth, this is not optimism. All the games are winnable and they very well are.
Very different from your position of insinuating that some of those games are 'not winnable'.

That's not the position of a realist. A realist considers all factors involved.

You say that. However, it is primarily because you can get away with it. Even if you get paid handsomely, if you cant get away with a pirated copy of a $500 software, you probably won't pay for it.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 7:47am On Feb 08, 2012
All those games are winnable. Every single one of them.

RA's recent visits to the training pitch is a warning to AVB.
