Why do I have this feeling Rooney won't go to Chelsea? I may be wrong but I just believe he won't. How delighted will I be if he chooses to pitch his tent in SW6 instead. A forward line of ~Drogba, Anelka and Rooney can do too badly. . Walahi. ![]() And with Neymar to join next season?. . |
Exactly. If money as the reason of his departure is disputable, and it sounds absolutely insane to say that he is moving across town because of ambition, it only proves my point that there is more to this than we know. Utd is due to release a statement in about half an hour. We'll see what they come up with. |
StarBoard:It makes sense to me. What if he joins Chelsea for the same amount of money he earns at Utd? No one can conclude Rooney did it for the money unless you've heard he's signed for another club. Until he signs for another club, it's safe for me to argue that there are other reasons he's left and it's presumptuous for y'all to say he left for money. |
tkb417:Dude, no-one walks out on Utd. You don't leave Utd for a rival club unless there is something wrong or if you absolutely insane. Fergie offered Rooney money to make him the highest paid Utd player ever. . so we can conclude it isn't about money. If Rooney thinks Utd lack ambition, so much he thinks he should leave, then it proves my point that there's something more than you and I can see. I am sticking to what I know. What u know is more than what I know anyway. |
I honestly do not see Rooney as a trouble maker. I think there's stuff happening behind that we don't know about. He's never struck me as a trouble maker. He's def a bloody scouscer who grew up in the hood but he understands the essence of professionalism and is a very good player. I believe he has a lot of respect for Utd and as such will not go to Citeh. I will be over the money if he says he wants to join Chelsea. |
tkb417:The only objection I can raise to that is . . . Why do you think they will be forced to sell? The Americans at Liverpool didn't want to sell, in-spite of the fact that they knew Liverpool could have gone into administration a few days after the court judgement. It is all dependent on if the Glazers are willing to sell. |
@Emperoh. Emperoh:You make points. . |
tkb417:Dude I can't see the money anywhere. Show me where it is. Do you even read Utd books at all? |
tkb417:You can't make a point without insulting. . and it's even like you can do it well anyway. If I begin with you, you always know I will blow you away. Just look at Starboard, he is making twice as much sense as you. He is picking my points as I make them and replying them all point after point. I quite agree with the point he is making, though not totally but I least I can read what he types. Your own points are empty. You always like to act like you have a lot to say. . when all your are saying is "spewing, bumkum, blah blah, dumb, mumu" Without these words, you can't post sense. Tackle the points and stay away from insults dude. People have differing opinions, deal with it. |
tkb417:First what is the gbam about? The guy said he mis-represented my views and you are saying gbam. . What is wrong with you. Like I said, I never referenced direct replacements. Also I never expressed a view of how splashing the cash has replaced very good players. Quality for quality. I only said they did and now can't. No matter about worse off in ability the incoming players have been, they have played at points in time played important roles in the last five years. Are you telling me that if Utd didn't have the cash to splash at the time they did, they would have gone on to win the trophies they did? What would Utd have won if they didn't splash the cash on players like Rooney, Rio, Hargreaves, Anderson, Nani, Ronaldo to name a few, in the renent history? |
tkb417:This is why I don't reply you. You reply to posts that are convenient for you. I said there are more heavy weights to contend with. I mentioned Chelsea, ManCity, Arsenal and Liverpool as major contenders with Utd, who have more financial clout than ever expected. I mentioned that without these factors, it was much easier for Utd to bounce back time and again. . and that now, dominance will be harder to achieve. If dominance is hard to achieve, profits will dwindle. If profits dwindle, the debt becomes even more crippling which will spend the end. You don't see these points. You pick out just "ONE" of them . . . Abramovic's supposed "incursion" on football and begin ranting. Why don't you tackle the other points? You are a nightmare to have a conversation with. |
@Starboard. There's no part of my post that reads "replacements". . . I only said they went out and splashed the cash. Neither did I ask for a like-for-like replacement for any players. I only asked for players who are as good as Rooney. Not "direct replacements" for Rooney. These two questions cannot be answered. It is not my insinuation of things happening. It's clear to see. |
debosky:I quite agree Fergie's a genius at what he does, however the signs are there to see the future is very bleak. When Fergie bounced back with Utd time and again, there wasn't an Abramovic, willing to spend £50m on Torres. No Arabians willing to pay Rooney £500,000 a week. No Arsenal making £50m in annual profits and over £1m at the gates. No Liverpool with a £300m takeover. The are more heavy weights to contend with than ever before. It's no longer the prem Fergie knew. It's way more than Rooney walking out. There are a million things behind the scenes happening that we can't see. Rooney can but Fergie didn't think he will act on it. Anyone who can't see through this should remove their red goggles. Like I said Utd fans, wake up and smell the coffee. |
Absolutely Debo. It's not some branch of science someone has been able to perfect. It's more of hope than anything else. I appreciate tkb and co standing by their club. . but it amazes to see the only string of hope they cling on to is that of possible repetition of history. Oh! we've heard it before. These are the different scenarios now:- 1. Before now, I can't quite remember anytime in Fergie's history where the star player walks out on Utd. Key phrase being "walks out" 2. This must be the very first time Fergie's shocked at seeing his start player leave. 3. The very first time Fergie's offering a player money to become the highest paid player in Utd's history to prevent the player from leaving. 4. The first time a star player leaves without any player nearly as good as the departing player. 5. When star players have left in the past, Utd have gone out and splashed the cash. It can't happen any more. 6. This time around, they the Glazers. 7. Then, Utd made profits. . Now the profits go to servicing debts. 8. The first time in recent history Utd have not sold out season tickets. 7. And lastly "The crippling debt". None of these factors were present when Keane left Utd. Times have changed dudes. Wake up and smell the coffee. If I were a Utd fan, I will be very very worried. |
jalether:I quite agree Anelka made a few wrong passes but I don't see any devastation on the scale you guys are seeing. You should look to the midfield. Anelka plays well when there are co-ball carriers in the midfield. The midfield with Mikel, Essien and Ramires can only work when we want to play Barca. Else, we should never use it. Malouda and Anelka always have to go back to midfield to get the ball often because the ball never reaches them. Solution: Always play Zhirkov in midfield no matter what. He helps a great deal carrying the ball forward. |
ritchboy:You wish. We've learnt since Sheva. We don't do failed projects any more. Every single transfer since then has been fruitful. That reminds me. I don't see those Chelsea hit and miss articles on the internet any more. People got bored? |
Rooney just released a statement . . In brief. . David Gill was not able to meet any of his assurances concerning the future strength of the squad. . and so, he will not be extending his contract. Me verdict. The beginning of the end. |
Yes I heard yesterday Ramires is out. That, may be good news as Zhirkov will come into midfield alongside Mikel and Essien. The combination of Cole, Zhirkov and Malouda on the left of attack is a fierce force. That will also foster more creativity than what we've seen in the past few weeks. Kalou's return is also a plus. Drogba's back as well. |
FBS:You have to have watched Kakuta a lot to come to that conclusion. . . I remember calling Kakuta a central-midfielder sometime ago and Ibime laughing. . . The way Kakuta played in the U-19s is the exact way and role he played in the youth and reserves. He used to be the best player in the reserves and he had a free role most times to play in the middle in the years of JM, Grant and Scolari. His game is based on pace. He hasn't learnt to play on a spot. He has to be running. . There must be pace in the game. He now needs to learn how to play one touch football and play in tight spaces, something Josh can do by default. And let's not forget he was out for almost a year from a broken foot. . Got banned for extra months shortly after he came back. Now he is in the last years of his contract, there will be a gazillion people whispering into his ear about where and where not to go and sign. . . Wenger will prolly have his number on speed dial as well. , Y'all knoww how he is with kids. He has been through a lot for a kid. . . He will come through. He needs to sign that contract first. Every other thing will follow in due time. . I however believe Josh will break in before Kakuta. |
Where are all the guys defending FIFA. .? This one was on video, how many more cases have happened under-G? We have to sit back and allow these cretins run our associations. . yet they can't be probed for fear of ban from FIFA. FIFA is not answerable to anyone or any organization? Isn't that worrying. . ? |
Blackpool v ManCity. . . What a game! |
Ibime:While I believe no single player is bigger than the club, I sincerely will not want to see him leave. Loan may not be the only answer to how he has to learn. Jack Cork, Ryan Bertrand, Michael Mancienne, Scott Sinclair, Jacob Mellis have all gone on loan year after year, they still haven't broken into the first team. They still haven't learnt anything or maybe they are not good enough. Wilshere went on loan but Fabregas didn't. . because Wenger decided to give him games. I think it's more of who is good enough. Kakuta and Josh are good enough. What they need is a number of games and a lot of patience. A terrible mistake by Josh yesterday it was but so was the one by Ramires against City. Don't know if Kakuta will stay, I hope he does. . . but I know Josh and Gael will break into the team. |
Meanwhile Everton is 2 up on Liverpool. . . Hogson is going out the door with the former Americans next week. |
BlueDiva:Come on Diva. . To call Kakuta a flash in the pan in way out of order. He is a teenager. . . and teenagers have their different levels of development. I have watched Kakuta and Josh for about 3 years now from Youth to Reserves. . . .and I can say that Kakuta's game is based on pace. He likes to run into space always. Josh on the other hand has the natural ability to play in tight spaces. The more space, the better for him. Chelsea's new style of play reduces space for midfielders. . Kakuta tries to run but the spaces don't exist. Kakuta needs to learn another aspect of play and really quick. Fans are longer as patient as they used to be. . but to give up on him as a flash in the pan is wrong. . . Remember Malouda? |
debosky:Like I told Loyika, foremostly, Wenger never criticizes bad tackles, he only criticizes bad tackles on Arsenal players. Secondly, what did Wenger say about the tackle on Ramsey? Did he call Shawcross's tackle mis-timed, when it clearly was. .? |
Arsene Wenger just called the challenge by Wilshere on Zigic "a mis-timed challenge". . . Here we go. |
ritchboy:So no one else can be called world class because Messi is world class. Ritchboy and rubbish! |
cabali:Don't call them idiots, they did their best. The first half was very bad but they really wrestled in the second half. We hit the wood work 3 times. It's unfortunate we drop points on the same day ManU drop points but hey this is Villa. We have only won once at Villa park in 10 seasons. I never expected a win. I would have taken it. . . but at least we weren't terrible till the end. Let's look on the brighter side. . . . Josh is absolutely world class. . . believe me. . . |
This one may be a draw. |
Josh is a fantastic player. If he starts, we'll have so much creativity in midfield. Look how much he's helped create since he came in. He slots in perfectly like it's his right. . . Throw him into the phucking deep end, dude is ready. Haaaa!!! 1 min more. |
Very very bad. |
Lawdamercy. . . That would have been it. . |
