Politics › Re: Buhari On Looting: 'Turn Back Your Children If They Bring Back Unaccounted Goods by Nato008(m): 9:07am On Oct 26, 2020
ePoster:
A situation whereby the Nigerian police refused to intervene in the issue of looting, not only cause they felt unliked by the general populace (which is understandable to me), but also because most of them were unable to comprehend how they would disperse the crowds without shooting.
Security operatives here are a bitter joke. Imagine them chasing a vehicle for a pathetic NGN200 note or causing a road jam just for that amount.
Travel from the North down to any Southern state, a nightmare!
bro so the only way to disperse crowd is by shooting....what of tear gas, or rubber bullets or water canons biko... we are all crazy in this country
Politics › Re: EndSARS Protest: We Feel Abandoned – Police Officers by Nato008(m): 6:08pm On Oct 25, 2020
MalaikaEH:
I really empatize with the rank and file of the police.

There was a problem of crowd gathering in most cities. A problem that could easily go out of hands and out of control. All our president, vice president, governors, senate, rep members and even the Inspector general of police could say was warn the rank and file of the police not to disrupt the "peaceful protests". It's demoralising. If I were a police man, I will feel dejected too. Well, we have all seen the end result.

Nobody should get my message wrongly. I have also suffered suffered in the hands of overzealous SARS in the past. But we can't throw the baby away with the bath water. The good ones among them are very useful. I can't forget a particular night armed robbers besieged our street. It was the police that saved us that night. They are important in the society.

Despite all the protests in USA, President Trump never criticized any police officer, even till today and they don't mind giving their lives for him. That is a good example of how a leader should behave towards his foot soldiers during the time of crises. After the crises, you catch the erring ones and discipline them. Giving them a blanket warning at that time will only demoralize them.
bro do u see police in the USA shooting with reckless abandonment knowing that there are civilians....everytime, we hear of stray bullet...whyhuh

there exist an undiscoverable, sometimes pretentious hatred deep within our subconscious towards each other as Nigerians and until we accept it and seek a way to cure it,if there is any(except restructuring or disintegration),there shall be no true growth with the level of denial and hypocrisy we show.
God bless u for this......we need to come together and talk about the bad blood...but no,our politicans keep lying about unity..

AsampeteNwaanyi:
such thing is bound to happen.

Let me frankly tell you
there's nothing like activism in Nigeria
or let's say we have few real activists
everyone is looking for a way to cash out
that's what caused the problem and the ones that felt they've cheated sided with the government to truncate the protest.
remember the government hands was tied because of the manner and how organised the protest was.
since my life I've never seen police done out anti protest equipments like water tanks
tear gas is a daily accessories
but they used genuine anti protest equipment to do it.
the protest started gaining ground and international presence hence the government had to do something to protect their images including posible visa ban.
but since they can't use force yet. they hired thugs to attack protesters but failed and the protest gained more sympathy. then they resorted in giving the dog a bad name before killing it. that's why they hired tugs to start destruction and unrest so to give reasons to use force because they feel that that's the only way to get them protesters off the street.
the rest was history.

my point is that selfish interests of the youths are mainly what destroyed the protests.
the government e-trolls started their usual old tactics which is tribalism and that brought division and boom everything went tribal.
Nigerians nearly got it right because the ruling class was scared like shit because they never imagined that temporary unity among the youths across various tribes
but greed of the youths especially those that worked for them destroyed it.

I'm afraid to say this we've lost this country forever infact the way I'm seeing it it'll be difficult for a southerner to get power again because we're terribly divided more than ever now.

sometimes I'm forced to believe the conspiracy theory of the North using this tactic to keep power forever
bro i agree u made valid points but thinking that the govt would not fight back is u under estimating there resolve and the issue of tribalism can't just end...is it a step by step process...first go get ur PVC

Bro, A friend of mine was there, throughout that night, he was there, he told me, no one was killed, they soldiers and police only shot up into the sky, to scare them away, but as Patriots, they stood their grounds. That's why there was no video of anyone being shot. DJ switch said what she know, "the soldiers and police came out with live bullets, why would anyone come out with live bullets against peaceful protesters", but there was no killings. A soldier or police should have bullets in his gun.
bro please don't insult our intelligence....where in the world do soldiers go to a peaceful protest ground to shot into the air....why did the come b4 the curfew started biko.huh??

I dont total agree with you. Tinubu fell into the trap with his own hands. He supported the master plan of the massacre by asking the governor to off the street lights and removing the cameras. He felt using force against his own people as suggested by the Northern power was the best solution not knowing it was his downfall.
Many warnings were given against the use of Army for the protesters but he was power drunk thinking nothing will happen after all the presidency is behind him
i agree with u....it was a well laid out trap for him, and the just finished his dynasty in one single blow...gosh

Ade3131:
It's actually not easy to be a Nigerian. Trust me.

See how allegations and counter allegations are flying here and there whereas our president remains quiet.

We all saw pictures of a man taking 2 cameras away from the same tollgate and the news was making rounds on social media yet, nobody from the company could clear the air that they're mere vehicle scanners.

In addition, why was it coincidental that the light at the tollgate went off at about the same time the military came based on rumors circulating on the internet.

I just wish all of these is a bad nightmare and someone would wake me up to a better world. It's crazy being a Nigerian.
bro is not only u....u even see some people asking about coprses....like when did the army start leaving bodies after something like this

Nigeria can never attain greatness. No be curse. When there are people like this bastards madridguy and Yekini Nabena that will deny the deaths of people even with evidence.

That is how Oyo Police denied killing Jimoh Isiaq until Gov. Makinde issued a statement stating that they actually killed the guy. There is no limit for your politicking not even human life?

It was not the protesters that freed prisoners nor responsible for evil acts perpertuated by government hired goons or touts.

Now there will be total lockdown by 4pm
