Please house, is it a must that I must change my naira to dollars from Nigeria? What if I can change it to dirham from Nigeria, will the immigration guys disturb me at the MMA? I considered I might lose a lot converting my naira to dollars here in Nigeria and still going to convert the dollars to dirhams in uae. Please advise me on what to do. Thanks

I advise u hold dollars. Unless u can get dirham at a cost if u multiply by 3.67 it would be lower than the price at which dollars would be sold to u.

if they are serious about it, they can get you your visa in less than 2week. The company I work for gave me my employment visa 4days after I passed the interview. If you visa is abt expiring, they would ask u to exit then they send u the new visa to comeback or pay d fine depending on which policy the company prefers

ok no problem . u can give them. The reason so is cos maybe once they start processing ur visa without the commitment, u might get another offer and decide to abandon their offer thereby making them loose in the cost of applying for ur visa.

Hahahaahahahha. You are funny and right. Some guards earn 15-25k without accommodation in Nigeria. Even if u wanna use the market price of 54 which can never happen its still abt 100k with some benefits and also they would have the opportunity of traveling.

I got a security job that will pay me 1800 dirhams + benefits(accommodation,transportation and health insurance) but they are insisting I deposit 1000 dirhams first for them to start my employment visa process first. What do you think?

I don't like the fact that many Nigerians tend to have to accept certain jobs...even Indians and other nationalities face these things...but funny enough i look at them and tell them to hang in there

Nigerians do not even work in construction companies where Bangalis and Pakistanis and Indians work under intense heat for 14 hours..the least job a Nigerian would ever commit to is cleaning and security and waiter jobs..and they are complaining...they never work under intense heat at the risk of heat stroke or stress and they are blabbing...nawa

the bolded part is reality. I met two Nigerians working in construction in a site I visited, I really had mercy on them. They were looking like Niger rep refugees dusty hairs. Had to bless them with lunch they told me they earn 600aed and 800aed with overtime. Its really shocking. My only advice is if coming to uae, avoid construction or factory works they pay the least. Security is the most decorated menial job I know of in uae.

@halimacurves: 247 electricity in uae? Free WiFi? Maybe try other Emirates. Its (eletricity)only obtainable in sharjah, abudhabi and dubai. WiFi isn't free.

nice. They should also forget issue of overtime cos most labour job I know of in uae is 12hours. So where u wan collect the overtime from.

I don't see the reason why some people keep nagging about withholding passport as an issue. Lemmie ask you; what do you plan doing with you passport in a labour contract?? Wen you have a 2-3 yrs contract and a powerful Emirates ID? Cos I believe its only those that have negative plans that see it as a problem. But for me my passport was withheld for 2months and was returned to me. They do this cos if you abscond, uae gov would impose a fine on the sponsor which is abt 9000aed. So cut dem some slack.

non is. Depending on the yardstick of the judgement. U can pay 550-600 for a genuine employment dat pays BTW 1500-2300aed. It would be a good deal. But if u get a tourist at 200k flight at abt 130k and accommodation at ur expense. Den look for a job with faith you can get and sometimes frustration would make someone jump into a job of 1500 here after even paying agency abt 1k for the job.
NB: this is for those without experience and good certifications or degree. But if you are well equipped upstairs wit experience and certification, come to dubai and get the job urself. Over n out

Also as a sign of good faith to new comers to uae. Maybe if u can tell me the name of the company you are planning to process your visa to and your proposed job description den I can get you the unadultrated salary figure. Instead of the lies some agent gives.

all hands are not equal. Depends on the kind of job you are offered. Also u need to attend a driving school in dubai to enable u get uae drivers license.
