Semose: I was denied today by the dark skinned lady in window 5 .. Here is my transcript Vo: y r u traveling to the US Me: I will be having my annual leave Jan 12 and intend to seize d opportunity it to visit a relative. Vo: who is she to you [looked at it from my application she viewed] Me: aunt Vo: what state in the US are u visiting Me: Alabama Vo: r u married Me: yes Vo: kids Me: yes Vo: boy or girl Me: boy Vo: have you traveled outside the country b4 Me: no Next thing long typing on her computer screen, followed by blue paper..... Pls ur evaluation In my Opinion (that's if it counts) i would say u shot yourself in the foot: 1. Since you have no Travel history, you can't just want to use your annual leave traveling to US as an opportunity to see just an Aunt not even your immediate family who isn't even Sponsoring your trip cos its already a red flag. 2. All you answers are just too glibber, like you memorized them like a story line. 3. Always engage the VO in discussions to make them believe you have a reason to go to the US and return back. Datnaijaninja: Please read.
For all you Dubai prospects. It's better you gather accurate information before you make a step that will jeopardise your life.
The best way to enter Dubai is through a job offer i.e an employer applying for your work permit.
Don't believe these agents that are looking for money all over the place.
They will do a 3 months visa for you and leave you to your fate when you arrive.
And you can't hustle in Dubai like western countries. it's highly controlled.
Have counselled so many people who fell into the hands of these agents.
I met a guy on the metro one day who walked up to me asked if I was Nigerian, I said yes and he asked me to buy him a meal. My heart broke into pieces. He had a good job in naija before leaving.
I know of a marketing manager who fell into the hands of an agent. Got to Dubai after two months ticking on her visa she had to take on a maid job for two years.
So many girls forced into hard labour in hair salons at Deira for a paltry sum of 70000 naira upon conversion.
They live in unhealthy conditions, no standard medical insurance? Cant open bank accounts cos their salaries are low
Is it worth it I dare ask?
My advice if you want to go to Dubai. Don't zero out Nigeria till you are certain of a job in Dubai.
Go there for a month with your attested certificates and money to move around. Remember you can't do a side job there.
See for yourself and apply for jobs. If it clicks then your employer will process work permit for you.
If it needs for you to exit for the visa processing your employer will pay for your ticket. You get to go home and say goodbye properly without any cost on your part.
Wisdom is profitable biko! Is this your Experience? Cos they are not applicable anymore. |

Uptosomething: OK...BUT why do NIG pple most times no dey get anything to show as evidence they have been in Dubai for some time. They always complain Dubai is hard, this this that...........And they rarely come home What exactly do u want them to show? cos ayam not understanding cos you are really up to something. No body owes you any proof to show he or she is successful before you could try and become successful. Some people here are are not successful cos all they think here is " lemmie work and get back the money i spent in coming to UAE so i can try Europe, Asia or America". So they make an extra million and run back to 9ja start hustling visas to other countries and don't get it and become stranded in Nigeria. |

Akadchitect: Nattybanta, NONNY, NIGHTLIFE100 and all other experienced guys, pls help me with your knowledge.
A friend of mine who left Nigeria last year has been pressurising me to come over to Dubai assuring me of easier life ,and honestly I'm a little bit skeptical even with his mouth watering convictions. So, I'm planning on getting a 3months visa (single entry- since the multiple entry has been suspended). But I just want to make some enquiries before I start anything....
1. Does all jobs in Dubai require a CV . Cos provided, I wanna do any type of job, I might need to keep rewriting CV
2. As a HND graduate of architecture (with design and construction experience) how easy would it be to secure a job in the construction field
3. Can the friend who is inviting me house me for upto a month since this thread says people are living with roommates .
Please I await your replies 1. All job require a cv cos you would be interviewed unless it's an arranged job. 2. If you have experience in CAD, it's very easy. Or some other professional certifications in the field. 3. Sure he can house you if he stays alone or you have you pay rent and live with him if he is in a shared room. So it's upto him but nothing is free.. |

Topshow4real: I applied for employment visa through an agent , but I was issued long term single entry - tourist (it's E-visa) . . . Is it the same with employment visa?? Pls, I need to know before I balance him up. . . Thanks uchman: Hope you will be traveling with it soon... Does it have E visa on it? If yes, please go ahead and don't forget to tell everyone here, what's up...
But I have used that before... And am 98% sure it's employment visa... Employment visa has 2 types.... The E visa and the rampant one, I have not used before It's an E visa
Once you get to POE, You will not go through through the line of the ones with employment visa. I got confused during my time because I came back from visa change with the E visa... But at the end, it turns out to be Employment visa...
As long as it has E visa written on it... Bro surge on... 3 month visas, I don't think E visa is written on them
Surge on bro... I am 98% sure of what I am telling you...
When you get to the port of entry, you will be stamped in with one month validity... It is expected to round up both medicals within the time frame given at POE...
I stand to be corrected... No one knows it all What you were given was/is a 90 days Visa. If you didn't find (-WORK or -EMPLOYMENT) but found - TOURISM At the heading, then it isn't a Work/Employment Visa. So don't hope it would be converted to anything else at the Airport. UAE has been issuing E-visas in all Categories. The E there is Electronic and not Employment so be Guided. Also did the agent give u a one way or return ticket? @Uchman: 2% error is enough to send someone to its early grave. |

Please gurus in the house kindly comfirm this. I can Categorically confirm to you/everyone that; DUBAI and SHARJAH has stopped issuing 90 Days Visas to Nigerians. Ras al Khaimah and Umm al Quwain still do. Dubai only issue 14 and 30 days at the moment. . |

Someone said "Diera is the worst place to stay when u are searching for job". Those with experience should please shed more light on this, for safety purpose. Actually its not the worse for Job seekers, cos alot of connects comes from Deira, thats if you know your way around and the right people to associate with. but 90% people there are hustlers ready to take anything they can from you if you are not wise. |

olukaygold: pls pals, I need an advice, I will start processing my 2 years work visa to Dubai in next month, but before I started, I want to ask how life is over there, I'm not going there to hustle but to have more experience, I'm an expert bricklayer. my agent said the minimum salary for those with Handwork is 180k...pls house, how is life over there as a Nigerian I wonder who would pay you 180k; thats about 1850aed for a bricklaying job in UAE when the Bangladesh, Pakistanis and Nepalis are the most preferred in that field as they can work 12 hours for 900aed/month without asking any questions. Anyways am not like trying to discourage you. but if you are sure its true about the 180k salary, grab it immediately before you loose it. PS: life is sweet as a Nigerian. |
