It was a change of name due to marriage and not DOB correction.

One of the officers told me they transferred the application to Abuja rrasons for the 3weeks plus salah break in between

Go online and do it on the portal. There is a correction of data place

Correction of data (change of name, correction of name, and change of DOB) can only be done in Abuja. I know this because my wife recently changed her name on her international passport.

Whether the process can be done in other states, I don’t know, but I’m sure they will still have to forward the application to Abuja for approval.

So the officer in charge at Abuja sent me a message that my passport will be ready anytime soon, few hours later he sent me my data page, I was so happy and also full of emotions considering what I've gone through. Waited till today after collecting the hard copy before sharing the news.

Please what method did you adopt for your name to drop quickly? I know someone who’s in the same shoe now. Her name hasn’t dropped on Immigration and it’s affecting her passport production. She has captured already.

I did my capturing on the 30th of June, and the collection date on the print out is 5th of July. Is this true?

It’s supposed to be 6 weeks after your capturing but maybe you’re lucky or they wanted to write 5th of August. Which of the NIS Centre did you do your capturing and is it DIY?

Check the application checklist on page 1 to see what must be contained in your employer's reference letter. You need a reference letter that states your job description that is in sync with your chosen NOC, amongst other things. Does your appointment letter contain these details?

I would not advise you to write a reference letter yourself.....

Include your appointment letter in the application. And as I said earlier, explain it in details in your LOE. IRCC might decise6to contact your employer directly.

You can draft your job duties and roles on a plain sheet and attach it to the reference letter. You will need to explain this step in your LOE so the officer looking at your file will not be confused. Still you need to "apply pressure" to your company to see if they can include your job duties and salaries in your letter.

Thank you for your response. My former employer won’t give me another letter. In my appointment letter, my salary and hours of work was clearly slated. Also, it was written in my appointment letter, that my duties will be in another letter but that letter wasn’t given to me.

You can draft the letter out by yourself following the sample on page 1 of this thread and show them how it should be. Read page one.

I wrote a sample for them but they removed the duties and salary part.

2,my 1 month old baby needs a new passport.. Is NIN required for her?
3,my wife needs to renew hers, but this time with my surname? Can it be done either in lagos or abeokuta without going to NIS HQ Abuja? And what are the documents needed to present to effect the changes.. Thanks.

1) You have to do your NIN because it’s now part of requirement to get your Nigerian passport. Some people said NIS Centres in Ibadan and Abeokuta doesn’t require NIN, I don’t know much about that but I’m sure Lagos and Abuja requires your NIN.
2) NIN is required for all Nigerians and legal residents in Nigeria. You should try and register your baby for the NIN. You’ll need your NIN slip or your wife’s NIN slip, the birth certificate and you’re good to go.
3) Change of name due to marriage and change of data can only be done in NIS HQ in Abuja. For your wife to do that, she’ll need to change her surname on her NIN to yours, the marriage certificate, change of name affidavit, newspaper publication and a photocopy of your Nigerian passport.
