Your celebrated APC navigator a.k.a General matthew Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo was the one whose administration spent $16 billion on power with nothing to show for it, international thief thief endorsing APC for change. Progressives indeed. aresa: |
Rotimi that is far from completing his own financial disaster he called a monorail in port harcourt. That one has promised delivery date severally and would be the next to admit failure of his administration to complete the project. I believe this will be the season of admission of failures by the criminals and corresponding blames to the FG. Just see a typical response fron Rotimi. " if PDP had not used the new stadium, I would have completed the monorail" APC putting blames on unrelated events since 2013. jmoore: |
Why Danjuma no go talk, when they are talking about Oil, former soldiers seeing the Niger Delta resources as spoils of war for themselves. |
PDP needs to include this vacuum cleaner in her campaigns. Wonderful caption you got there bro, who in this 21st century would want to settle for a broom when there is something better. Transformation of environment, roads, economy, security etc one after the other GEJ take another four years and advance with the structures you are putting in place. Right thinking Nigerians will never allow some "old school" politicians force a broom into their hands when there is option of a vacuum cleaner. ![]() Samchelsea: |

Beautifully written, makes for an extremely good read. Brings to light the decision making abilities of the "aspirant" or soon to be "former aspirant". |
APC is sure of winning the elections the same way Buhari's principal was sure he will pass WAEC with credit in maths, english and 3 other subjects. ![]() this is not 1961 nor a bias military recruitment panel, so they better get ready for the 4th straight loss next month and be gentlemanly about it. |
That is not because the Nigerian degree is not recognized, rather there are requirements and standards that are set and should be adhered to by all concerned. My point is that this is applicable to most foreigners and not " people from Nigeria or third world. Eg.as an illustration If a country ask as a minimum an IELTS score ( using this example since we can all relate) then it doesn't matter if you think you are from france or the united kingdom or japan or Nigeria). If the person in question is already educated and desires to get some professional recognition, then I am yet to hear of any one being discriminated on basis of having studied in Nigeria. If you are in doubts look up the requirements for any professional body and see the same rules applies to Nigerians as other foreigners, be it Medicine in the U.S (USMLE), engineering council there in the UK and countless examples Except the people you meet are looking for "caregiver" jobs .It would interest you to know the nigerian degree and grading from an accredited institution is equivalent to the British degree and even better than most of those countries you think are superior. Look up any academic grades conversion tables. I agree with some of the things you say, but lets not demoralize the next nigerian youth on nairaland making them feel inferior or as " good for nothings" about the quality of education they have received, its the bad leadership of people like the Buhari's babangida's atiku's, Objs and countless "progressives and neo progressives" that held the country forward. Afterall if the country was handed down to todays politicians intact, we should have been singing about other issues and not the one's people are campaigning about. Have a really good evening 50calibre: |
No those words are beyond his vocabulary. He is rather saying "i will pite kworupshun" and stabilize oil price Babacele: |
Talking about security, the same security problem her uncles and brothers caused, is what she wants to blame on someone else. They must all be patient enough to allow Jonathan clean up this mess they put us all into. gajike: |
As for the highest qualification question, ask the general that question, i didn't fill his INEC forms for him. And its never true anywhere in the world that a Nigerian degree is not accepted, a degree from any reputable Nigerian University is acceptable anywhere in the world, travel around and see sound Nigerian graduates who had their first degrees in Nigeria wow others out there. Initially they may lag with current trends (obviously Computing) but then they adjust and excel beyond everyone's imagination. If you claim they are handicapped initially, its because of the bad leadership that had been forced on them by bad leaders like the one in question. Nigerians are some of the best minds anywhere, and I am yet to hear of an Institution or body that has denied a Nigerian an opportunity, on the grounds that he or she had the degree from Nigeria. Let me tell you something, I pray for a day when we have a star studded team of persons like Ajumuogobia, like Donald Duke, Prof Nnaji, Prof Egbogah etc filling up all government positions, but until then we will enjoy Jonathan. 50calibre: |
Worthless pice of Paper? We are seeing the true boko haram's. tell us more. "The quality of a leader is shown in the standards he sets for himself", someone who is comfortable to fill an Inec form stating 1950's to 1960's WAEC as highest qualification is whom you are routing for in this day and time we are finding ourselves in, it shows how intellectually lazy such an one has been. Its high time we set better standards as a nation, Okay lets simulate a world leaders meeting in attendance are the following: Barack Obama United States Harvard Law School Vladimir Putin Russia Leningrad Uni David Cameron United Kingdom Oxford University Heinz Fischer PhD. Austria University of Vienna Tony Abbott Australia Oxford University Lee Hsien Loong SIngapore Cambridge University\Harvard University Hassan Rouhani PhD. Iran Glasgow Caledonia Ma Ying Jeou PhD. Taiwan Harvard Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Nigeria University of Port Harcourt Muhammadu\Mohamed Buhari Nigeria Katsina boys 1951 Nigerians choose for your selves who you'ld want to see represent you at such a forum 50calibre: |
And you must be even more "sensible" to not know that your certificate will not make it through any legal verification. Go to foreign affairs ministry or any consulate with that your document for legalization or verification and expect them to understand. Why do you think they ask for name as it appears on passport, don't expect people to appeal to pity. If you like don't learn from what your master is currently passing through, and look for a way to correct that your document, be throwing curses and insults about. "Sensible" people in APC PassingShot: |
Something that calls for serious concern, something embarassing that any one would call his or her loved one aside to advise them on (if they were in such a situation), becomes what is openly celebrated or supported. This calls for deep thoughts on if the country is being turned on its head by a few people who suddenly feel all waivers should be given to a candidate because of the hate they have for the incumbent. Nigerians have to rise up, these APC people are trying to tell us that in the bid to grasp power, "the end justifies the means" (if you turned out a general, then it doesn't matter how you got there, the flawed processes etc), so what is the guarantee that if we get them in there we can booth them out easily. Nigerians shine your eyes, because it doesn't matter, matters a lot. |
Name on Certificate doesn't match the name of bearer or names on other documents, and you say its something stupid, you can tell that to the immigrations officers at passport control, or any establishment where you are called upon to present your documents. My God, who is this Buhari, that a few Nigerians are becoming willing to hold onto straws to defend the indefensible. PassingShot: |
America my foot. Are they not the same countries that have one yale graduate handing to a harvard graduate (universities for producing presidents) ad infinitum. And please dont call nigerians illiterates. If the literacy figures are low, its because of the weighting factor of the people from lokoja upwards. You are talking as if 21st century americans will request for a certificateless dictator as their leader. balotellli: |
And was progressive. I rather have a man who dines with tax collectors openly than a saint who romances with the tax collectors in secret. Only one word for that "hypocrite". streetdisciple: |
And Buhari is inlaws with Ali Modu Sheriff torkaka: |
While there is nothing wrong with that, but there was an account of taking a loan from the bank to obtain the said nomination form. If that is true, its a case of some well strung lies built on other lies. Collynzo9: |
All in a bid to sell an "old school ruler" from the past. Most of those names you have mentioned are dictators in modern times, running aground their less developed countries(relative to nigeria). |
Yea he if opec doesn't cut production, the glut remains, the price of oil drops or stays low, many investments are halted( recall that the fields that will provide the oil 5-6 years in the future are developed from today). This causes a major shortfall in future supply with increasing world demand. And then what happens, not just a rise in price but a spike is what we will see. Something going very high. The guy has a strong point and highly experienced and shiuld be listened to. |
He says IF opec does not cut production we can get to $200/bbl. and the argument seems very plausible, thats one of the most experienced men in the business talking and is worth listening to. the oil industry made a big mistake in the 80s to 90s (when companies weren't hiring) and I'm happy someone is warning already to make people think in a new direction. |
Representatives from governments and industry are convened this week in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum. 2,500 heads of state, industry leaders, artists and philanthropists are gathering with the goal of "improving the state of the world." A predictably hot topic being discussed has been the drastic fall in oil prices since June. The CEO of Eni, Italy's O&G supermajor, warned at the conference that oil prices could rise up to $200 per barrel if OPEC fails to cut supplies. Claudio Descalzi said, "A lot of our projects are long term to have production in five or six years. And that is a problem. If you are cutting capex drastically now - we can have a lack of production in four or five years creating a new increased oil price at $200 maybe." "What we need is stability... OPEC is like the central bank for oil which must give stability to the oil prices to be able to invest in a regular way," he continued. The Eni executive said on the sidelines of the conference that the oil industry would reduce capital spending by 10-13% this year due to falling prices. But he said the world should avoid a further massive drop in investment in E&P as this would yield oil shortages in the future, thereby leading to price increases. http://oilpro.com/post/9893/supermajor-ceo-says-oil-could-go-to-200 Interesting conjecture I must say, something that should be looked into. |

How many so called "10MW" stations does this man think will power Nigeria? He thinks its that simple as it sounds. And some would begin to clap for him just because what he says includes something like MW in the same sentence. |
You are right bro, if you say so, but we should both know that certain statements are political, and shouldn't be taken literally. I for one didn't care if a rifle or 100 rifles had been bought, but we shouldn't start throwing senseless data around. every one speaks figuratively and we shouldn't be like the pharisees and sadducees who were hell bent on getting what the Man Jesus was going to say so as to use against him. Have a very good day Sir yours truly, N.S obailala: |
Illiterate? because I question the absurdity of the figures mentioned? Anyways at least I can show my certificates, and it seems a much better case than the "seemingly literate" one who decides to subject himself to the leadership of an illiterate. Get to work this morning, my friend. One of the Holy books says "its an aberration when princes walk on foot and servants ride on horses". caselessogbuagu: |

if only you will subject the data of that website to reason. look beyond the period in question and run your own critique of the data taking different years, pre and post independence, civil war, oil boom etc., before you make an assessment. Moreover not all of us will accept data hook, line and sinker just because it is coming from some website. For belief it must be subject to verification (that is the creed of science) obailala: |
My Brother, abi, whichever ways heads or tails its a loss. Was even interesting to note that we were dealing in arms before we were born(Independence), made more peace time than war time arms purchases at periods when we had more important issues to deal with. Anyways one can not rely on this as a source considering that the countries fill questionnaires themelves. well "make we go sleep" for tomorrow is another day, this one didn't sell. tk4rd: |
