I did everything you instructed but I can't open the phone without happy Sunday
Gptech:

Try as much as you can to avoid tapping your power button, this helps to extend its life span. To do this, enable 'double tap' to wake, then go to settings - Additional settings - buttons and gesture shortcut, then change 'turn off screen' to ' long press the home button'. Also, enable quick ball, select shortcut, and enable one of the short cuts as ' long press the power button'. That way, you only need to touch your power button only if phone somehow turns off, or you want to enter either recovery or fastboot mode.

Thanks a bunch Bro. I appreciate your patience and explicit answers. Cheers!
genius43:

1. You have an excellent SOT and you have been complaining.

2. Your network fluctuations affect battery life.

3. Change the SIM you don't use for data to 2G(Edge/goes/GSM) to conserve battery life

4. I can see you have disabled WiFi and Bluetooth scanning, good.

5. Monitor your screen brightness, the brighter it is the more it consumes battery.

7. Reduce heavy usage when the environment is hot. High Temperature is not really good for batteries.

I hope all these helps but your SOT is very okay, I don't know if you expect 10hours SOT for 30% on light usage, but that would be you not understanding battery usage and expecting way more than expected.

Should I download the one on the first bullet point that is PMGC or the one on the second bullet point with All versions from parrot 04.

The first is for Note 8 the other is for Note 8 Pro.

This is not battery chart but app usage on MIUI 10 you will click that clock symbol on the upper right corner to show battery chart. Screenshot that chart

While on the page of your current screenshot click hardware and click Screen to display screen on time.

Screenshot that screen on time, that way we can analyse if your battery usage is normal or not.

How were you able to stop the auto update? Please share with me cos my battery is disappointed. Thanks bro
genius43:

It is not that, probably your phone is adjusting. I used my phone up to 28% today had over 8 hours SOT.

I think for some phones, apps auto starting is a major culprit to battery drain.

So search Auto start and stop apps you don't want for them to auto start.

When I updated, I forced restart severally. Then used my battery extensively. Switched off and charged, then everything normalised. But the auto start I noticed it yesterday and handled it.

Disable WIFI and Bluetooth scanning that is what is causing the high cell info and battery drain.

Your network still have comma with that yellow bar

Thanks a bunchquote author=bolakale30 post=84264297]REDMI NOTE 8 REVIEW...

So, I made the decision to switch from my battle-worn, tired, trusted Redmi Note 4x for the Redmi Note 8. I was one of the early adopters, so, I got the Chinese Version 4gb/64gb, hence, no MTN 4G for me… You all are familiar with the specs so I am not going to bore you with that nor the specifics of the design.

DISPLAY
The phone spots a 6.43 FHD+ display, personally, I have a thing against displays that are lower that FHD, it’s why the Mi A3 despite the promise of AMOLED, (which I love so much) and a theoretically better camera was never an option. This was my first phone with an 18:9 aspect ratio, so the longer and narrower display was a bit awkward at the beginning but I am now at home with it. The colours are vivid, true to life and I have no problem using my phone under direct sunlight. I am not a gamer but I downloaded a couple of games just to test the performance level of the phone (more on that later), and the colour reproduction was wonderful. Some users have complained about screen bleeding on their own units but I don’t have such problems
DISPALAY 9/10.

CONNECTIVITY
The phone comes with all the usual Redmi bells and whistles that are trademarks of the Redmi brand. Bluetooth, IR, WIFI, etc. And they all work as expected. Sadly, I got the Chinese version, so there is no MTN 4G for me. All other Major networks work really fine…
9/10

CAMERA AND VIDEO
One of the selling points of the Redmi Note 8 is its camera, the quad setup is novel, first of its kind among the Redmi line-up. The main camera is a 48MP (wide) an 8MP (ultra-wide) 2MP (depth sensor) and 2MP (macro). The 48MP shoots excellent photos in daylight, I am not really impressed with the night shots nor portrait mode probably because I expected more. Gen gen gen… enter GCAM and everything changes. The HDR enhanced portrait mode is maaaaaad… The night-mode is one of the best I have seen on a budget smartphone. The GCAM mod available for the Note 8 is incredible. The video is actually nice. The EIS prevents shaky videos. The slow-mo is a meh affair but it’s serviceable.
7/10

PERFORMANCE
The phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 665; the performance is similar to that of Snapdragon 660, but the GPU of the Note 7 is a tad superior to the 665's Adreno 612. It’s snappy. It has dealt admirably well with everything I have thrown at it. I am not a gamer, but I downloaded Call of Duty and PUBG on it, and it ran both flawlessly. My Redmi Note 4 was the 3gb and 32gb variant, and I observed that apps refreshed in the background when I was multitasking, but I have not experienced any of such problems with the Redmi Note 8
8/10

SOFTWARE
Like I said, I got the Chinese version, it was not that bad, but the intrusive Chinese language was annoying, especially in the browser and music apps. But the battery performance was better. I applied and successfully unlocked my bootloader after seven days. I flashed the global rom, and I had a better performance. During the first setup, I disabled show recommendation so, I don’t get the annoying ads that have characterized MIUI. The MIUI is highly customisable, within the space of three weeks, I have used a pixel, iPhone, and Samsung OneUI themes; the dark mode works very well. However, I observed that the battery performance was significantly better on the Chinese ROM. Don’t get me wrong, I am getting 10hrs+ on the Global rom, but I was getting more than 12 hours while the phone was running the Chinese ROM
7/10

SOUND
Sound is generally okay, nothing flamboyant and nothing to complain about.
7/10

BIOMETRICS
The fingerprint and face unlock work well
8/10

BATTERY
The Redmi Note 8 is equipped with a 4000 MAH battery. The performance is very similar to that of my old Redmi Note 4x. It lasts a full day on heavy usage. I don’t use the Battery Saver mode, yet I change my phone just once in the morning, and I am good for the rest of the day.
8.5/10

PROS
Excellent performance and battery life
Highly customisable and feature-laden
Class-leading Camera (With GCAM)
Fantastic Display
Incredible value for money

CONS
Limited 4G bands (On Chinese model)
Average performance by the stock camera (I suspect the ROM has not been finetuned to optimise the Quad-Bayer sensor) I hope an update will fix that.
Slow-mo is meh at best
The Chinese ROM has better battery performance than the Global ROM

Update: apparently, an EU ROM was released for Note 8 and 8 PRO yesterday…

N.B: Forgive all infelicities; I am an amateur. However, you can ask me any question about the phone, I have had it for about 4 weeks [/quote]

Just want to know if it is mandatory to come to the exam venue with the the signed forms. Thanks

Have you tried another MTN Sim on your phone?
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by NCANCHAIR(m): 6:02pm On Nov 15, 2019
Please my guys, I'm tired of this note 8. The network sucks. My MTN has not been working but inserted same SIM card into my sister's redmi 7A and it's working perfectly fine with strong 4G.

Like I explained earlier, I haven't succeeded in restoring my second space after disabling the lock. All this issues came up after I tried to hid the second space form the setting of first space.

I need help my fellas. I'm already tired of this note 8
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by NCANCHAIR(m): 12:52pm On Nov 15, 2019
Good day my fellas. I bought the redmi note 8 and I discovered the battery does not last compared to my sister's redmi 7A. And another problem is that my MTN isn't working, it will work when you remove the SIM trail and insert back but after some time it will disappear. I don't know if the problem is with the SIM card because I had to cut it to nano size.
Another big challenge that I am dealing with is the second space. I set up the first space and the second space with a finger print and a pattern lock. Just this morning when I was trying to explore the phone, I tried to hid the second space from the setting in first space and I also disabled all the locks. Alas! I couldn't find or locate the second space again. I don't know how to get there again. Please I need help from you guys please.
Prompt and explicit response. Thanks guys

Okay Thanks. How do I DM Noobody? Do you have his contact?

Yes u can't use MTN 4G on CC9e because it lacks the required LTE bands

Global rom has nothing to do with LTE bands.. It can't add or remove LTE bands.. So your best bet is the other options I showed u if MTN 4G is your priority

Contact or DM Noobody privately for details on your 2nd query

So in a nutshell, The CC9e is not advisable to be used in Nigeria?
And again, Can the Global Rom software be installed in the CC9e? Thanks bro
genius43:

Go to Jboixxx compilation list to check the differences between Global Version and Global ROM.

When I say limitations I mean if the 4G band is not available on the device you won't be able to use it here. And in the CC9e you can use comfortably only Airtel and Etisalat as well Ntel 4G, Glo depends on the few locations they have rolled out band 3.

But as for MTN no 4G for you.

If you ask me I will advice you to settle for either of Redmi Note 8 Global Version or the Mi A3 which is a Global Version to the CC9e
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by NCANCHAIR(m): 12:18pm On Nov 08, 2019
Thank you so much. So there's no way I can use MTN 4G on the CC9e, right? Because somebody here was talking about installing the Global ROM software in the CC9e, don't know if that could be possible. And how is it gonna take for the delivery by NOOBODY ?
Thanks a bunch for your time.
flawless911:
Mi CC9e is available in Nigeria as Mi A3; Same cameras same processor same build, the only difference is A3 runs on Stock Google Android while CC9e runs on Xiaomi MIUI

Now if u want a slightly similar hardware and build, u can get the Note 8, same Processor but CC9e main camera is a Sony lens while that of the Note 8 is a Samsung lens, but same 48MP

So U can get the Note 8 or Mi A3 directly in Nigerian stores like Slot, Pointek, etc
Also one major advantage is that these ones in Nigeria officially support all our LTE bands so u don't need to worry about that one

You can put these into consideration as well just in case u don't want the hassle of ordering from china directly

But if u really want the CC9e meet Noobody for express delivery
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by NCANCHAIR(m): 9:04am On Nov 08, 2019
Can you please explain what the limitations of using only the LTE and installation of global ROM software and how I would go about it. Finally, How can I order it from AliExpress? Thanks a bunch for your prompt response
genius43:

Mi CC9e is China exclusive and can only be sourced from China through AliExpress on our touts here.

Note that for GSM networks it has only LTE Band 3 working on it.

Meaning you won't be able to use MTN 4G Network as well as Glo if you are in areas with only Band 28 which is more available by the way.

Then you have a choice between Chinese ROM or the phones bootloader Unlocked with Global ROM installed.

Note software don't change the hardware limitations.

Thank you.
