NwekeUG: Armed Robber Wearing A Wig Gunned Down By Security Operatives In Edo (Graphic Photos)
A suspected armed robber was on Saturday night, killed during a shootout with vigilante group in Ubiaja Town, in Esan South Local Government Area of Edo state, IgbereTV reports.
It was gathered that the deceased and his gang members have been terrorising the community.
The robber met his waterloo when he and his gang went to rob the popular Ogbeide Hospital on Saturday night, December 5. A distress call was sent to the local vigilante group.
The robbers, on sighting the vigilante, opened fire on them but they were over powered. The one pictured wearing a wig was killed while the rest were reportedly arrested.

When will southern reps push a single bill that would lead to the restructuring of Nigeria or are they afraid of bringing the topic to assembly? Bigoted opinions that blames the North for actions never taken by the South is a damn shame, tell your elites to stop lying to you and free yourself from bondage. You are already put in bondage by the present political structure which you want to be preserved, but you don’t even understand how. Whoever told you that it’s the duty of a lopsided National Assembly to restructure Nigeria politically must have fed you with falsehood. |

Another poorly reasoned statement. PMB does not have the power to restructure the country. It is the national assembly that has the powers to do so. Till this moment none of your "wonderful" representative of Southern extraction has managed to introduce a bill with far reaching consequence.
When I say southern elite have used tribalism and religion to keep their people ignorant this is a classical example, the South had just as many representative in NASS as the North, but trust me they will never make any attempts to address constitutional gaps that is their primary responsibility, rather they have brainwash a lot of innocent southerners to believe that the North does not want restructuring. At a point in our history the South controlled the 2 houses but still they refused to do anything. They pay stipends to hate mongers to spread lies that it is the fault of the North and now it is PMB that is stopping them from restructuring. Joking liars! The National Assembly can’t restructure Nigeria because the National Assembly is overpopulated by northern reps drawn from the political structure which was created by northern soldiers to favor northern region. |

clarocuzioo: coming at a time when southern regions are calling for restructuring.
The unity of the country became negotiable the moment Boko Haram started killing with reckless abandon and government started treating them to buffets.
The unity of the country became negotiable when a certain section of the country occupied 90% of the security posts.
The unity of the country became negotiable when alcohol is destroyed in a section of the country yet they enjoy the taxes from those alcohols.
Tinubu no matter how you ass lick the balls of the northerners, they will never make you the president of the federal republic of Nigeria. Recent events should have proven to you how they place you and other southern politicians no matter how much ass you all lick.
Oh by the way , he went to see Gandollar, birds of a feather they say flocks together.
Bullion van versus Babaringa dollar stuffing. That's a wicked combination. Tinubu said he does not believe in one Nigeria when he was in the USA. How come the first detractor and unbeliever in one Nigeria now says Nigeria is indivisible? Politics of 2023? Who is fooling who in Nigeria?

Jman24: That's it. It may interest you to know that the reason most people speak ill of the city is just because of differing political views. And forgetting that this governors irrespective of party lines are the same. Some appear like angels initially and turn into something else later. And that's part of the reasons the black people are poor(not necessarily lack of cash). They don't encourage ingenuity. They(Nigerians especially) do not see another path to collective prosperity asides oil money and federal allocation. The greedy nature of Owerri people regarding the commonwealth of Imo state is reason why people speak ill of Owerri. How can Owerri people account for their coveting every development institution of government in Imo state only for themselves in Owerri? Once villages in Owerri area are becoming urban areas while urban areas that started Imo state with Owerri deteriorate. Owerri people are happy over that. |

Misterdhee1: PDP was how many years old in 1999? Our democracy was even still in kindergarten as at then. The same democracy has matured now, and can't be gamed to fit the whims and caprices of poor political players like igbos. If you guys want the presidency so bad, then hold pdp in the scrotum - since that's the only party that is close to the heart of your region. Apc won't give its party ticket to an igbo man. You can stake your bet if you doubt this. History of rotation of presidency is why you talk about a Southern Nigerian - Yoruba - to succeed PMB. Not because more Yoruba voted for APC than Igbo in presidential elections. History influences today and the future. History of political leadership of Nigeria influenced our acquiescing to two Yorubas taking the tickets of the two major political parties in 1999. That’s rotation of the presidency between north and south. That same history is what you want to throw away because you believe Yoruba is entitled to presidency for the 2nd time before the Igbo. You are a nobody as you want to drop history and speak authoritatively like APC Spokesman. Area Boys political calculator. |

Misterdhee1: You're a mumu obviously who obviously has issues with basic grammar. Is it the igbos that killed Western and Northern region leaders in the first republic just to hold on to power that's trusted? No one trusts igbos - and it will likely remain so given the level of hate/superiority complex an average igbo man has in him.
And since you're hellbent on amplifying your ignorant political knowledge, let me sound this to you as a final response - APC is hated by more than 90% of Igbos. It is unjust to give the same region that hate the party so much the party's ticket as against the region that risked everything to get the party to power. It won't happen and will never happen. Igbos deserve the presidency as a major tribe but that should and will come under PDP. Apc's party ticket is between SW/NE. You can write today's date down. Yoruba hated PDP to the bone and had ACN as Yoruba party when Nigeria agreed to two Yorubas to take the presidential ticket of PDP and the other major political party in 1999. You are a poor student of history. Go and sleep. |
Politics › Re: Igbo Presidency In 2023 Will “Lift Nigeria” - Ezeife (Former Anambra Governor) by Nchenches: 12:26pm On Dec 04, 2020 |
Deadlytruth: Zik's one-Nigerianism was a euphemism for preference for unitary system which Ironsi eventually helped him impose and which has led to the failed state status of Nigeria till today.
If we are to follow your logic, then the present calls for restructuring (which means a reversal of Ironsi's centralization of powers) will cause Nigeria's disintegration hence the FG is right for not helping the calls for restructuring. May I ask you whether there was any section of the country asking for disintegration as when we practised regional government before Ironsi came to the scene? You must be a comedian.
What Fajuyi (with whom Ironsi was killed) was governing wasn't a region but the Western Group of provinces which Ironsi replaced the regions with after destroying them with his Unification Decree. Go and read his May 24 1966 national broadcast and see how he repeatedly described the regions as "former regions" and declared that "Nigeria ceases being what is called a federation but has become simply The Republic of Nigeria". If with all these you still argue that Ironsi left the regions as intact as he met them, then you are simply being tribalistic.
Apart from the 5 majors which composition was 80% Igbo, all the other officers who participated in the coup were merely junior officers who could not have disobeyed the orders of Nzeogwu no matter how much they wished not to have participated. Moreover, how come a purportedly pan-Nigerian coup recorded casualties of political heavyweights from every other region while those of the Eastern Region were unhurt despite they were major facilitators of the allegedly corrupt government that was accused of leading Nigeria to the doldrums? What was in a name - Groups of Provinces and Regions - when the regional governments still functioned in the name of Groups of Provinces when Ironsi was killed?Truth is that Ironsi only took some little powers from the new Group of Provinces to the central government to forestall imminent break up of Nigeria then? Regional governments still remained in the name of Groups of Provinces and functioned like regional governments when Ironsi was killed. Only little powers were taken by Ironsi from the regions he renamed groups of provinces. Call for restructuring: the present political structure of Nigeria was created by northern military dictators who wrongly used land mass as yardstick and proliferated too many states in the north, 19 states and Abuja; but left 17 states in the two southern regions. The political structure gives northern politicians undue overwhelming majority at the central government of Nigeria, including the Federal Executive Council, the Armed forces, the National Assembly, the National Council of States, and in fact, in every department of Nigeria’s political and economic development process. To have fair play for all the formative three regions that formed Nigeria at independence is part of the reasons for calls for political restructuring from the two southern regions, now called three zones. If you don’t know that north was asking for “Araba” - north separating from Nigeria when problems erupted in the southwest region, go ask your elders. That’s why Ironsi tinkered with taking powers from the regional governments to save Nigeria from disintegration. Most of the senior army officers of Nigeria’s armed forces were Igbos when the 1966 military coup took place. Did you not expect most of the senior army officers to be from the north or SW? The coup was collectively planned and executed by senior army officers from all major ethnic groups in Nigeria, the Igbo was majority in the armed forces, so as expected, the senior officers in the coup should be Igbo. The coup was also foiled by Igbo army officers. |
