LASG is not even disturbing drivers about paying tax directly. In as much uber/bolt claims dey are deductin tax from the 25%/20% taken from us on every trip. Reason why LASG is demanding 10% on the 25%/20%. Not from us.
E.g 25% of N1000 trip. Uber charges N250.
LASG is demanding 10% from that N250 uber has charged from us, which is N25 only. ( not 10% from the N1000 trip)
To me, uber/bolt are cunny and greedy. If they can charge 25%/20% from us easily and find it difficult to remit the little % to the Govt.
But, lot of people thinks govt is demanding 10% tax from us. No
Even with this your explanation I'm sure most still won't get it. They read the whole thing or maybe they dint read and still miss the whole thing and misinterpret and misinform others. The big issue here is the way Lagos State choose to go after drivers as if they are scared of the app company themself that they claim to be after is just what I dont get.

I believe na my cancellation. And that happens cos my pick up point was just crazy after the lock down as much as I try minimise am each time I refuse to pick or cancelled it goes 4point up so I try to go unfavourable trip but for each cancelled I have to do like 4 upward to correct I cancellation. I complain self to them as my cancellation dey move and they reply and said as much as they understand my plights the system was program that way and nothing much they can do and they understand that not the answer am looking for but sorry. So I try not to cancelled again but riders cancelling cos of pick up time was still also on me and nothing I could do about that one I was yanked out even though no be me cancelled on my way there.

If they try lower fare that means practically all cars on rentage go either quit or run at a lose cos more repairs.
chucsmoore:
. With the current inflation in the economy Bolt still want to reduce price. I don't think this is a good move. Prices of things are going up on daily basis. Car parts are freaking expensive right now due to foreign exchange, even BRT public transport, is stepping up their fare by 46% due to the current situation of things on ground. This ain't a good initiative on a 20% commission. I believe there are better incentives they can introduce to attract customers rather than crashing price again. This is will surely affect driver partners no doubt
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ncnerio: 10:34pm On Jul 27, 2020
AngryIgboDon:
Bolt is a very useless company. I can't believe that drivers are even taking that survey regarding the reduction of fares for more trips. Can you imagine? And some illiterate drivers will go ahead and tell them to reduce fare for more trips oo.

I am advocating for fewer quality trips that will yield more money and more profit, this hopeless company is talking about more low quality trips that will damage your cars and wreck you forever! Take note of the word quality. Drivers, do you really want more trips that are practically useless or fewer trips that are more quality even if its 2 trips per day? What exactly does bolt mean by reduction in fares for more trips? I will gist you.

Drivers, are you willing to see a situation whereby Bolt will make their base fare 200 naira like Uber and charge 30 naira per kilometre so that all sorts of animals and charlatans can flood the system for more trips? This is what they mean by more trips oo. Do not be deceived. You will think that you are making more money because
of the so called more trips but the reality is that you are wrecking your body and your car.

I have personally done my own survey and guess what? Riders are suprised at how dirt cheap ehailing is in Nigeria especially those riders coming back from abroad. Attached is a picture I got from a website that aggregates the price of ehailing from countries all over the world.

In Japan, drivers on Uber earn over 40 dollars per 10 kilometres they drive. At 466 to 1 dollar currently, thats 18,640 for a trip from Anthony Village to surulere which is approximately 10 kilometres. We have not added time and base fare oo.

In Hawaii, drivers on Uber earn over 20 dollars per 10 kilometres they drive. At 466 to 1 dollar currently, thats 9320 for a trip from Anthony Village to surulere which is approximately 10 kilometres. We have not added time and base fare oo.

In Nigeria, drivers earn less than 2 dollars for every 10 kilometres they drive! Infact its approximately 1.29 dollars for every 10 kilometres. Thats a "whooping" 600 naira for a trip of 10 kilometres from Anthony village to Surulere. God forbid.

You think am lying about the 600 for a 10 kilometres trip? Do the maths bro. Uber charges 60 naira per kilometre. 60 × 10 kilometres equals 600 naira. At an exchange rate of 466 to 1 dollar at the black market, you are earning approximately 1 dollar 29 cents for every 10 kilometres!

UNA MUMU NO TOO MUCH?

This is the exact reason why you find it hard to break even after suffering so many years driving. You can't pay rent, you can't feed your family and you can't build a house driving for either Bolt or Uber in Nigeria.

You know why? Car parts are imported. Oil is imported. As fares are dirt poor, car parts prices are rising due to exchange rates.

Shock absorbers for Toyota Camry is now 7500 each as against 5,500 it was before.

Drivers shine your eyes before you die before your time. Stop suffering and smiling. Dump that company called Bolt and find another hustle period!

Las Las indriver will shake the table. Most people take them cos of the set price. A rider said even though I know the hold up will hold us me topping the fair makes it easy on both of us. I top with what I have you take cos it a set fair aggrement so it like a tip or bonus. I laugh tire. Las Las no no more than the usual hold up and yet she add 500 with smile. I smile too take am.

One question

1. How do you deal with Indriver,? a purported Russian brand, whose charges are currently FREE.
He doesn't have to contend with them. Start his own 3000 a week that's more than fair enough. Mind you indriver will start charging once they gain ground which they are gaining ground steadily. Theirs is 8% per trip commission

After 6 months you start paying commission. It's not profitable in traffic cos the fare is fixed.
Indriver does the basic calculation base on Google map and add nothing extra once you accept the ride. Any other state with less traffic jam you would over enjoy them. They charge 8% max if and when they start charging commission but for now no commision charged.

When I bought my first car then we read anything readable. Was advice when buying a full tank stop when at the first or second sign of the click indicating full tank cos each time it clicks as a safety measure the pump returns the fuel which as already read in the meter for you. It not much but each time it clicks you lose small amount of fuel cos the fuel does not store inside the fuel host it returns but how it favours the attendants is what I don't get. The company gains but the attendants am not sure of.

northbird:
@ babadee, Pettrocam is good, I think d problem wt most filling stations is wt their attendants.

I don't know if you noticed, its a common practice among them, you ask for fuel of #2,000.
They program #2,000 into the console/ dispenser.

Fuel starts reading, wen it gets to #500 or so, they grab the nozzle n start squeezing it.
I'm lyk you have programmed it already, its going to stop @ #2,000.

Why r you squeezing the nozzle again? I don't get it, I'm always wondering, then wats d point of inputting 2,000 in d first place.

This security agencies should hold anybody not wearing face mask responsible. The driver can't be driving and looking out for riders not wearing face mask. They are grown up adults not babies
It not even that. What if a rider and police set you up? Like getting to check point and rider chose to then remove face mask?. Why not arrest the rider? Why arrest driver and car? Common sense is not COMMON

Okay so Uber ban me for the second time and said no chance of appealing. First was late last year according to them my fone was not compactable this time around I believe it due cancellation cos the distance I kept getting for pickup is absolutely just crazy and when I decline to pick my cancellation rate jump sometimes as high as 4point and even wen I do pick just so it doesn't go up it reduce by just one point. Minus 32% now before lock down I was at 7. Done all back and forth der refuse changing dia mind. I get like 11kplus with Dem and that was due to a rider that took me round town for like 10 hours plus that day don't even know if that why I was block cos the guy never update trip said it was his boss paying no issue an. Hope am getting paid sha cos have not gotten alert and I want to believe it because of the public holiday?
