mikeansy: so this whole noise is all about ownership of oil wells be people who their ancestral home are hundreds of miles away right? Then answer is contained in various posts on this thread. Read them all before you generalize. |
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has insisted that $10.8billion out of $49.8billion is not missing but being reconciled. These clowns just told us that the $10.8bn have been spent on nameless expenses and will never make its way into any CBN account, but not to worry; they will tell us which expenses after their books have been Why were they not able to tell us how $10.8 billion was spent and on what, when they all had their meeting with Sanusi? These people continue to take Nigerians for fools, thankfully, their days are numbered. Barawo banza. |
abagoro: @Ndu-chuks, I always thought we had something in common which is a quest to make Nigeria free from all negative dichotomy and evil conspiracy as well as boldly preach against tribalism and religious intolerance. I'm highly disappointed. You seem to have the interests of a particular group of people at heart and those people might be the sponsors of Boko Haram. Oil block owners should be investigated because most wars are for business interest camouflaged as Religion or ethnicity. They are the ones capable of sponsoring this prolonged hostility. Oil blocks should not be privately owned but belong to the communities who determine how the proceeds are managed. That is what I want that Jonathan has been unable to do which is to better the lives of Nigerians in general and the real Niger Deltans in particular. Before now, I would have thought that people like you would have seen through this thread and understood its underlying message. I wholeheartedly believe that GEJ will not implement items 1 and 2 above because we all know what will happen, if he does that and the details of the act, is leaked to the public. You see, GEJ is not in control of his agents, his political party, or the country as a whole. As far as item 3, I fail to understand why he has not implemented this to date. It is the right thing to do and will endear him to millions of people. I, like you want a Nigeria free from all negative dichotomy and evil conspiracies; and I do boldly preach against tribalism and religious intolerance. Discerning minds should have reached the conclusion by now, that GEJ no longer has the support of the masses, and thus unable to appropriately deal with the elite who have been ruining this country for decades. By the way, the so-called elite/cabal, hail from every region in the country, and every major religion in Nigeria. Trust me, I do not want GEJ to implement the items listed because that act may actually help him return to office. What we need are qualified and proven leaders like Fashola, Pat Utomi, or even Soludo, to become VP in 2015 behind a President from the North, paving the way for the VP to rule Nigeria thereafter. I am realistic and practical enough to understand that most of the troubles we have in Nigeria is because GEJ reneged on the agreement not to contest in 2011, and now in 2015, when he would have ruled for 6 years! It would be suicidal to have GEJ in office for 10 years. I make bold to say that the amended constitution should include a provision for power rotation between North/South because this seems to have kept us in peace for decades. We have a unique society and must implement unconventional methods for our success. |
DerideGull: The above post clearly explain Nigeria’s predicament. When extrajudicial killings were recklessly perpetrated in Odi, Onicha and in the creeks of deltas in southern Nigeria, no single voice was heard from other sections of the country. When the people of Bakassi were left to the crude fate of man-made policy of “defeat Biafra with all means necessary”, certain sections of Nigeria laughed to the banks. The above is a red herring which has nothing whatsoever to do with the question you were asked. Again, I do not believe that any Nigerian should be imprisoned for more than 6 months without being charged with any crime, in the name of fighting BH. This kind of treatment should not be metted out to any Nigerian citizen. Don't you agree with this? A simple Yes or No answer would suffice. |
CHESSBOARD: Ndu-Chuks ia an HAUSA MAN, don't listen to him , he is one these hausa thieves that believe they can't survive without our oil, but the truth for hausa and the Yorubas who support them is that wether GEJ win or not there will be problem, National Conf is the only solutionPlease note that my user name is ndu_chucks; the last part of the name is not the igbo version 'chuks'. mumu |
DerideGull: Mr. chucks,I am more convinced than ever that you are a victim of GEJ's tribal politics. You can't even condemn a blatant human rights violation against fellow Nigerians simply because they do not hail from the SE. You do so, by hiding under your usual rant that your motherland is a cesspit. May Okwute angry massob protesters piafuka gi ...... |
DerideGull: Mr. chucks,Mr. Gull, I agree with the above. On the other hand, I do not believe that any Nigerian should be imprisoned for more than 6 months without being charged with any crime, in the name of fighting BH. This kind of treatment should not be metted out to any Nigerian citizen. Don't you agree with this? |
Pope Xander VII: I can't believe a thinking human presented this as an Argument!!Counter, if you are able. You may discover that your own thought process is nothing to write home about. |
DerideGull: Mr. chucks,I'm sure you do not have a problem with item 3: (3)Release with immediate effect, thousands of innocent Nigerians, including women and children, currently held in prisons without trial for allegedly being BH members. Why do you think GEJ has refused to take this action as aa matter of urgency? blink182: As for op, you are just delusional. Please expatiate on this. |
The trouble with many empty headed loudmouths, who primarily do not reside in Nigeria, is that their solutions always include the leadership and participation of "other people/Nigerians". They themselves are never involved, they'd rather remain in the comfort of their living rooms in diaspora, watching football, and bad mouthing, heroic Nigerians who are in the trenches. SMH |
The idea that one stops believing that there is a God because one believes that God is cruel, is the dummest idea ever. If you believe that God allows bad things to happen to good people, and thus conclude that God does not exist, then you should be enlightened that believing that something does not exist, in of itself, confirms the existence of such a thing. Conclusion: you must be a lazy mumu who decides that God does not exist because your analysis, done, with your limited brain, is fundamentally flawed. |
jamace: OP, I pray your type never smell the corridor of power because you will sell your people for selfish aims. TU-FIA-KWA, NDU-CHUKS.ibu onye jjc, na dis place? |
DerideGull: @Mr. chucks,Oga, the point of this thread would be moot if GEJ had indicated that he would not be a Presidential candidate in 2015. The whole country, with the exception of one or 2 coots like Mr. Gull, believes that he'll contest. Let me remind you that you stated that "anybody who calls on ndigbo to engage in any form of fight, even a moonlight wrestling match, because of GEJ's presidency, must be a slow.poke". Are we to now believe that you've turned into a slow.poke? If you need specific reference to your statement, I'd be glad to provide you a link. I'm sorry to say that you are also a victim of the tribalization of polity a la GEJ. You people believe that opposition is now synonymous to the "Eko o ni baje" phenomenon. You will soon be rudely awaken. Did you say Sambo as Presidential candidate? LWKMD ![]() |
Slimmos: Pls no offence...pls just wanna know...who is d Yoruba Lady representing north in d northern State..name and State plsNo offense taken. GEJ: He commended the RTEAN for its support for the policy, saying: “ We cannot come up with policy that will punish Nigerians, else I will abort it immediately.I predict that this policy of 250% increase in tariffs on Tokunbo cars will be reversed within 6 months of its implementation. It will be aborted as promised by GEJ. My question is, why couldn't GEJ promote and assist the auto manufacturing industry without this absurd increase in tariff. What happened to waivers, tax incentives, and outright grants? This administration is clueless as to the number of jobs which would be lost as a result of this policy. This administration keeps digging its own grave. SMH |
citizenY: Haba! So where is the interest of the rest of us? A way must be found to "democratise" the ownership or stop it once and for all if our choice of leaders is to be determined by this cabal. Please put my original post in context, lest you make very erroneous assumptions about what I have written. I was simply speaking to GEJ's political future and interests. Try to understand that GEJ's interests are not in the best interest of the rest of us. In my opinion, our best interests would be served, if GEJ were to ignore what I have written, as I expect him to do. The first thing which must be done in our best interest, is to get rid of his regime. Inasmuch as he is not willing to put a stop to the massive looting which is taking place under his watch, lets get rid of him first, then plan for our interests. We need visionary leaders and you have to admit that no big idea has come out of GEJ to date. |
@theoctopus, when you decide to come out of the bush and chat like a civilized human, we can have a conversation. |
To effectively deal with elites, you need to become popular with the masses. You need to create programs(popular, doesn't have to be sustenable) that masses can relate with. You have to make masses feel like you are working for them and fighting their oppressors. Something like the fake anti-corruption war OBJ started. But our Oga thought ruling a crazy country like Nigeria is a piece of cake. He wants to cut elites off, at the same time masses are not feeling him. He wan chop billion naira food alone. Mumu Since he is not popular with the masses, he will eventually have to succumb to elites' demand. He is still going to lose though. having him in power is a systemic risk.
Akanbi_edu!!! You've always exhibited an unusual ability to understand these things. Fools do not understand that all GEJ has left is the appeasement of the so-called elite/cabal. Its probably too late for him. |
omanzo02: Are u by chance one of the e-rat for one of the oil block owner.facing trouble in renewal?I cannot take responsibility for your inability to read and comprehend what you read. You own that. |
ISpiksDaTroof: Tell me how this will benefit voters in places outside Northern Nigeria.I am talking about things which may be of benefit to GEJ here. Without the kind of 'support' he got from Northern voters in 2011, he will not be re-elected, period. GEJ needs to bring those who can help him aboard, if he wants to resurrect his dead Presidency. Being sentimental will not help him now. |
It seems OP, you've not travelled outside Nigeria to advanced countries, to see for yourself how oil fields / wells are own are run. Typical example is U.S.A. Must of the people I met the first time there ( in U.S.A ), have all resigned because oil or gas was found in their land. Let me not go into other countries. .
I believe in law and order. In the USA, if oil is found under your personal property/land, you will be compensated via royalties as agreed to by contract. No one is paid a kobo for oil found on federal land or property. You sir, do not deserve a kobo in royalties under the law, if oil was not found under a land you personally own. When oil is found under any land designated as government property, you deserve no royalties. More so when the oil is located 50 miles offshore. What you have coming to you, under the law, is paid to your state government. You may want to ask your governor for your rightful share. ode |
Sincere 9gerian: That is left for the over 60 million registered voters to decide.Lets hope the 2015 elections will be free and fair so that those 60 million voters can decide their fates. Why can't the said FRESH AIR sweep these cabals away right now, why wait until the govt stabilizes power in most cities of the country? BTW will the FRESH AIR revolution also sweep away Jonathan Economic Advisers Owing Nigeria N1.3 Trillion? Lets hope so.
What belongs to Caesar must be returned to Caesar.
This is the kind of unhelpful threat which GEJ advisers have been issuing all over the country. You people are doing more harm to GEJ than good. mumu collynzo2: Why not ask him to covert to Islam and add Awolowo and Shagari to his long list of names to satisfy fools?I don't have time for intellectual midgets today. |
Sincere 9gerian: GEJ will contest in 2015. It is a settled matter.Indeed, and he will lose the election woefully if he does not make very significant, game changing decisions and announcements, very soon. |
Pukkah: Haha Ndu_Chucks! GEJ's rating will hit the roof once he announces the renewal of oil blocks?GEJ already has SE/SS; if he announces the renewals of those blocks, he will sucessfully split the votes in the North with the vigorous help of the 'owners', just as he did in 2011. This is called political expediency; nothing more. |
Pukkah: I agree that people like Asari ought to apply more tact.At this point, it is likely that GEJ does not want to contest in 2015, but his handlers, various Ijaw People and interests, will not allow him to make such a decision. If GEJ decides not to contest, then the equation changes and a different formular must be applied to the political problems PDP faces. |
Sincere 9gerian: Two of those demands are very selfish. I knew all along that most of the fierce opposition to GEJ is coming either tribal bigots or self-serving cabals.I understand what you mean, but the fact remains that these so-called self-sserving cabals can do and undo a Presidency. They must be managed effectively without making them enemies. My simple suggestions will result to managing them effectively - this is the prudent and practical thing to do. As far as the refineries go, one would have though that they would have approached Dangote to take over a couple of them before he decided to build a new one in Lagos. Rumours has it that instead of offering those refineries to Dangote for pennies, cronies of government officials planned to share them. Thankfully GEJ has stepped in to stop the announced sale. Hopefully subsequent sale will take place in the future and in the proper manner. |
Pukkah: Who are these owners? The fact remain that these 'owners' can help GEJ acomplish his goal. But GEJ's Ministers and loudmouths like Asari-Dokubo who speak for GEJ, have been threatening the very people whose help will be needed. This is quite foolish. Good politicians will not alienate their power base and squander the goodwill they enjoy and tribalize polity in a destructive manner. |
Pukkah: This is apparently the right thing to do especially if the people being held have been investigated and found innocent or taken to court immediately.Things like supply of electricity, true federalism, police reforms, are obviously desirable, but he cannot do those in the next few weeks. The things I itemized are very simple. GEJ can make a major broadcast and announce that he'll do those things and watch his popularity go through the rrof, particularly in the states where his support has drastically fallen. He will not get any sympathy from people whose relatives have been imprisoned for months without trial. He can release those people today! |
Pukkah: What's the evidence that the refineries have been sold? When I wrote "apparently done" I meant that he has already reversed the sale as announced by the Petroleum Minister. Pukkah: Why should he do this? Are you holding him to ransom?Political expediency and survival comes to mind. The owners of those blocks can help him achieve his goals, it is foolish to threaten them directly or indirectly as his Ministers have been doing. |
(1)Reverse the planned sale of Nigeria's refineries to his cronies. (apparently done) (2)Publicly announce an automatic extension of existing oil block contracts, which will expire in 2016, by 5 years. (3)Release with immediate effect, thousands of innocent Nigerians, including women and children, currently held in prisons without trial for allegedly being BH members. shi kena |
Dangote must have warned GEJ. They should have sold 2 refineries to Dangote at N100 each as long as he promised to use his funds to rebuild them and put them back online. mumus |
