ndu_chucks subscribes to the idea of 100% resource control. All inland resources should be controlled by the states who would then pay applicable taxes to the Feds. ALL OFFSHORE RESOURCES belong, 100%, to ALL Nigerians and proceeds from their exploration must be shared to the states accordingly. The robbery of not sharing offshore resources equitably will be stopped in the next 2 years. That should give the lazy souls of "oil producing states" the impetus to develop other revenue sources. |
lygn19: common shutup during d time of the groundnut pyramids, u ppl didnt share anything with anybody, during that era Nigeria was practising regionalism, not even that, go nd read abt d amalgamation, d north was being run on a deficit or loss, while d south had enuf surplus, d colonial masters amalgamated them together to balance the books.People like you tempt us to call you dummies, empty heads, or Igbos, but I will respectfully decline the temptation. I'd simply state that you and many others on this thread are products of a failed educational system which did not adequately expose you to your history. I don't have time to educate you people but ponder the following: (1)It is in the record that, it was the farmers in the North that produced the groundnuts and resources that supplemented the various budgets of the West and East up till 1970. (2)Groundnuts, cotton, cocoa, hides and skins, were the principal export crops in the 1960s and early 1970s. (3)Nigeria was the world's largest exporter of groundnuts in the early 1970s Though I understand that research could not possibly be your forté , I'd recommend that you use google for preliminary research and educate yourself before coming here to embarass yourself. In case that is too difficult for you, at lease read this report from U.S. Library of Congress |
NwaNimo1: SEE AS NORTHERNERS GET SENSE . . . . the resources under your soil you no wan share,Where were you people when proceeds from Groundnuts were shared with you. Ingrates kawai ![]() |

Lets try to appreciate constructive criticisms rather than throwing tantrums and bashing the well meaning deliverer of the criticisms. I no tink say na lie US dey lie, though I understand say Monkey no fine but im mama like am. |

Truckpusher: It is a general say that Northerners are dumb which I have refused to accept because to me it is just another generalization, but your reply speaks volume in this particular context ,and talking about democracy with each region championing their interests ,then I ask you what's the North's interest so far?....Maybe the North's sole interest is to shoot down the interests of others no matter how genuine it is .I ask again, why the obsession with North's interests? Why not worry about yours and how to protect them in a democratic setting? BTW: Your bit about otu nnegi shows that you are a lost kid. |
Truckpusher: The North or the Invaders from Futa Jallon with their Hausa and all the conquered minority slaves in the Northern part of Nigeria is at their wit's end ,and they are well aware of this .This is one reason you guys keep threatening us with war that you can't afford to start talkless of winning it....Why the obsession with events of centuries ago? Why did you completely ignore my post and refused to address the points I made? I'm sure its not due to lack of English comprehension but your refusal to come out of the bush and learn how to practice democracy. Focus on protecting your own political interests and let others do the same. Some interests will be common while others will not be so, but bigotry will not be tolerated and will eventually ruin its practitioners. Okwute palestinians piafuka ki blokos. onye iberibe. puo na azu m. |
It is most interesting that many posters on this thread who are primarily, out-of-the closet biafrans and closet seccessionists, still do not understand that in a democracy, interest groups fight for just that, their own interests. Why are you people taking panadol for other people's headaches? Let the North fight for their interests within the confab setting and NASS, you people should do the same. |
HAH: The confab was conceived to reduce the perceived advantage the north has over the south, that was why there was lopsided representation, and clearly the promoters are achieving their aim, however I expect the national assembly to throw away the entire reports of the confab when it comes before as there was no legal backing for the jamboree.QED |

^^^ If bush men refuse to learn how to practice democracy in a civilized world, they will be condemn to fighting a war. Lets hope you people have come out of the bush. |
SamIkenna: After going through Dailytrust one would think the north got zero. The north got the same thing SW and SE got - state police and new states. It seems they're crying because Nigerians refused to give them an open check on terrorism like we did in education.Sam_Ikenna, I hope you are proud that you've exposed your disposition to bigotry, prejudice, and racism, by your statement in Red above. You have succeeded in claiming that the entire North has what you call "terror urge"; that is very unfortunate and tantamount to me calling all South Easterners flat heads and kidnappers - something I would not do in a million years because it would be wrong and senseless. nwanne m, before you and your ilk jubiliate, we shall meet at the NASS, or war zone, whatever you prefer. |
Ikengawo: LOOOL, and to think he thinks it's "Had they taken the test". Buhari/nduchucks 2015Technically, you neither talked nor spoke about it. You attempted to write about it. olodo ![]() |
Ikengawo: Those innocent girls only made the mistake of taking WAEC 2 weeks after results for WAEC were posted region wide in a dark room at night with no generator or supervision. Had theySir your attempt at satire failed woefully. It only revealed your insensitivity and your need to take the same WAEC you talked about. Please see the coloured annotation above. |

We need to rid ourselves of these selfish thugs in power in both APC & PDP. This declaration in of itself should be an impeachable offense. |

I suspect "%20" or a space within the url string http://www.nairaland.com/...etc...etc may pose some sort of security thread to NL. But what do I know, na guess I dey guess o. |
berem: Did the "love child" even accept Ojukwu as his father when he was alive? Even in death she didn't accept him.But that's not the point. He loved the child enough that he willed a hotel to the child. What remains to be explained is why there was no adjustment made after the hotel was sold when Ikemba was alive. I am beginning to think there may be some truth to Ojukwu's son Debe's claims that the will which was read was fraudulent. I don't believe that Ikemba was heartless, careless, and cold blooded. |
musiwa92: massob in london walking the streetOga, they were not wearing millitary uniforms or carrying assorted weapons (clubs or even guns) in the photograph above, neither were they singing unpatriotic songs which called for seccession from Great Britain. It is not OK to break the law while exercising your freedom of speech. |
o42austino: I think d will was made long b4 he sold d property, he forgot to Amend his will, my Uncle did the same thing and it is causing problems now among d Children. It is inconscievable that Ikemba simply forgot that the hotel he was selling, was willed to his child, hence he didn't make any adjustments. Highly unlikely. musiwa92: ojukwu gave the child something... inheritance is the right of children in africa.. not of women... in africa..Well, Ikemba legally willed quite a bit to his wife. Legal provisions trump tradition in this case. You said Ojukwu gave the child something but you failed to tell us what. The hotel he willed has been sold! |
The great Ikemba Eze Igbo Gburugburu, Odumegwu Ojukwu, to the dismay of his wife and children, admitted that he had a love child by willing Jubilee Hotel, Zaria, to his love child, Tenny Hamman. The truth of the matter is that the hotel had been sold to one Umar Faruk, a businessman, before Ojukwu died on November 26, 2011. The hotel has been converted to a warehouse and shops by the new owner. I am unable to rationalize this act by the great Ikemba. Why would he not have removed this line item from his will? Was this a calculated act or simply an oversight? I'd appreciate any explanation of this seemingly irrational act. The legacy of a historical and political figure, Ikemba, should not be allowed to be tanished without including the facts in our historical records. I'm all ears. |
No one is going to 'legally' murder this child. It should be a slam dunk case of "not guilty' by reason of insanity. Those who should be jailed are the adults who drove this child insane by forcing he into a marriage without her consent nor the ability to rationally offer the said consent. Mgbo piafuka gi isi (and this applies to all responsible parties one by one). nansense! |

The OP is correct. Here's the link to Washington Post Article Though the contents of the article may be closer to the truth, the Post should take it easy on our President. Nansense!! |
