Demdem: Is the OP suggesting that we all should keep quiet while Jonathan continue to ruin this nation with his stupidity and foolishness.
This isn't a good idea imo.
Even with the criticism, it shouldn't stop him from performing if he can.
Far from it. Constructive criticism can be quite productive unlike the type which has risen to unhealthy levels on and off NL.

If hit squads are being trained, then the training program has suffered significant setbacks due to OBJ's letter and possibly Asari's arrest. Let's just chill for a while in the spirit of the season and for GEJ's health and sanity.

As for Akanbi_edu, stop taking my posts out of context. Our fine Soldiers are well trained in activities other than coup planning. Believe me, I know.

DerideGull: There is no doubt you are an imbecilic Nigerian because most of the ethnicity you mentioned have nothing to do with delta formed by River Benue, Niger, Imo, Urashi, Otamiri and Qua hence the erroneous Niger Delta. You have no moral grounds to highlight the foolery of a silly compatriot while swimming in your buffoonery. There are many rivers in the Nigeria emptying into Atlantic Ocean while forming deltas. One wonders why such rivers and the deltas are not mentioned or included in the political idiocy found in Nigeria.
Mr. Gull, you seem to be the only confused character here. We real Nigerians know what we mean when we say 'Niger Delta'. Your Oyibo man semantic technicality in defining ND is yours alone.

agbameta: Goodwill cuts both ways and so far, the man is yet to show us any kind of goodwill or wish us well in any way. Not listening to our cries and concern is not wishing us well, looking the other way while his administration and his own appointees steal us dry is not wishing us well, sending his attack dogs to attack and insult us is not wishing us well, what he's doing with his education minister in Rivers to an elected governor is not wishing us well, hiring crooks and corrupt people under efcc investigation to top government positions is not wishing us well, letting stella oduah slide is not wishing us well and the list goes on and on......so why should we wish him well?

He entered aso rock with a lot of goodwill and well wishes from Nigerians, but he's yet to show us the same gesture so what well wishes are you talking about?
In whose interest is it to keep him distracted from doing his job to the best of his abilities because of the overwhlmin attacks by OBJ and people like you? Isn't it better to allow him to rule for the next year or so in peace? Why are you people hell bent on sending him to an early grave?

Granted many of us believe that GEJ should not be returned as President in 2015, but the man has been on the receiving end of vicious attacks from every imaginable angle.

I believe its time to take a deep breadth and back up before we cause this man to have a heart attack or some other ailment. I do not believe that GEJ is strong enough to take these attacks much longer. Lets allow him to focus until 2015. When a man is boxed into a corner without much oxygen, he willl fight for his live in a manner which could yield unpredictable result.

I call for truce on NL. Afterall the man is our President and we really should wish him well as a human being.

Our people talk say, Agbarucha nwangene, e kuru ngene nua, na him be say "Some things you despise will continue to be indispensable whether you like it or not". For now, he is our President, let us help him through 2015 for the sake of all.
Politics › Re: World Bank Releases List Of Nigerian Looters by nduchucks: 3:02am On Dec 17, 2013
This list is fraudulent and its been in circulation since 2005.

World Bank Distances itself from list of Nigerian Looters

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LAOLU AKANDE
NEW YORK

A list containing the names of 21 former Nigerian officials and military officers with alleged sums of looted money in foreign banks have been disowned by officials of the World Bank in Washington D.C.

For about a month now the list which mentions varying amounts of money the Nigerians have stashed away in several currencies including US dollars, British pounds, German Marks and Swiss Franc have circulated in diplomatic circles, among international financial operatives and several email lists on the internet.

According to the list, World Bank is listed as the source with a reference mentioned in Financial Times of London June 24, 1999. On the list, it was noted that the World Bank passed on this list to President Obasanjo.

Earlier this year, Obasanjo was reported, (at the time Nigeria was inching close to a deal with its creditors on the debt relief deal) as saying he had been asked about Nigerian funds stashed abroad by former officials and also given such a list and there was no official denial of this from the Nigerian government.

According to a popular international website on debt issues, Odious Debts Online, as reported on July 27, 2005, "in exchange for partial debt relief, the Paris Club of creditor nations have handed Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo a list of well-placed Nigerians to go after and prosecute for allegedly stealing and stashing public funds in overseas bank accounts."

The website, well read in western capitals said "according to various reports, President Obasanjo confirmed the list publicly after he was pressured by a delegation from the state of Kwara to reveal the conditions of the Paris Club debt relief deal."

Politics › Jonathan Fights Corruption, Says NDDC Has Failed To Justify Its Huge Allocation by nduchucks(op): 6:41pm On Dec 16, 2013
Very Good, better late than never

President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday regretted that nothing on the ground could justify the huge amount of money the Federal Government has so far spent on the Niger Delta Development Commission.

He said since the laxity of any government body would always be attributed to him as the President, he would henceforth clinically look into the commission’s books with a view to ensuring that those in charge do not depart from the conventional and acceptable way of managing resources of the people.

Jonathan spoke at the inauguration of the new NDDC Board led by Senator Bassey Ewa-Henshaw at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“From three per cent to one intervention or the other, if you aggregate the total amount of money the Federal Government has spent on this agency is enormous and I don’t believe on the ground that we have something to show very clearly.

“People are so inquisitive now; society is becoming more open and of course the freedom of press laws and so on, so everybody will want to know what is happening in the NDDC and it is your responsibility to do things differently,” Jonathan told members of the new board.

While directing the new board not to embark on new projects but concentrate on ongoing ones, the President also warned members to avoid the incessant infighting over money that characterised the last board which led to its dissolution.

He said a body like the NDDC should not go into a voyage of contracts procurement but ensure that ongoing projects were completed to the benefit of the people.

DerideGull: I am utterly bewildered to read from you that any funny agreement in Nigeria should supersede the constitutional mandate. It appears Nigerians will gravitate to any depth or crack in order to practice their tribal bigotry.
You people quote the constitution when it suits you but not because of principles. Should we now call you a bigot because of your statement below, which you made back in 2010? Have you now changed you mind and now ready to have Ndigbo fight for GEJ's presidency? Isn't the very zoning arrangement which GEJ rejected the reason why you said Ndigbo should not fight for him when the repercusions of GEJ's breach of agreement turns into a real fight? Do you not see the negative repercusions of GEJ's actions?

Mr. Gull, try to be consistent
The written or unwritten gentlemanly agreement of PDP on zoning of the presidency, which ironically produced Goodluck Jonathan, must be observed. If the Goodluck Jonathan does not feel comfortable with such political arrangement of zoning, why did he not kick against the modality that selected him as the Vice President? Or better still, Jonathan could join another political party without such presidential zoning agenda

Anybody who called on the Ndigbo to engage in any form of fight, even a moonlight wrestling match, because of presidency must be retarded junkie.
I didn't make it up your post is still there for all to see.

I believe more people agree with the OP today than the number we had only 3 months ago. True leaders sacrifice their personal ambitions for the betterment of their countries and for peace' sake.

The word on the streets in Abuja is thayt Patience is now very much afraid and may force GEJ to abandon his 2015 ambition. They have enough money to enjoy retirement in exceptional opulence .

Politics › At This Point One Must Suspect Obasanjo In Asari Dokubo's Arrest by nduchucks(op):
Given recent events in Nigeria and Obasanjo's allegation that GEJ is training Abacha type hit squad, I am forced to look closely at these events.

(1) Asari Dokubo was arrested in Benin republic and accused of taking part in activities deemed Boko Haram related.
(2) Abacha's Chief hit man, Al Mustapha was recently set free and one of the first people he visited, even before he went home was Asari Dokubo
(3)Asari Dokubo has a "University" in Benin and even Delta State sponsored students there (What training did they go for, millitary? )
(4)Is GEJ and his Ijaw people actually planning for war if GEJ is not reelected as stated openly by Asari-Dokubo?
(5)The President intervened and got Asari released from jail (what a shame!), in support of OBJ's claim that GEJ protects criminals

Given OBJ's influence in Benin Republic and West Africa as a whole, I wouldn't be surprised if he provided evidence to Benin which enabled Asari to be arrested.

One thing is certain, I will be on business trips between November 2014 thru Nov 2015. Its going to be worse than Ija Ore.

Great question. This meeting shows how out of control and ineffective GEJ really is. The man has lost control of his own party, otherwise he would have made sure that this meeting does not take place as planned. Since he did not stop the meeting, GEJ should immediately suspend OBJ from PDP for anti party activities. ko kwa?

Politics › Obasanjo Summons Southwest PDP Emergency Meeting by nduchucks(op): 8:34am On Dec 14, 2013
We dey observe

Worried by the disunity in the South-West zone of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former President Obasanjo has summoned a meeting of the stakeholders in the zone for today.

Saturday Tribune learnt that the fence mending meeting would hold at Chief Obasanjo’s Top Hill residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

According to a source, all the six states, namely; Ekiti, Lagos, Ondo, Osun, Oyo and Ogun would be represented at the meeting while invitation had been extended to the states’ representatives.

“We are having a meeting with Baba Obasanjo on Saturday (today) in Abeokuta. We have not received any counter order (from Abuja). We are going there to know the way forward.

Honestly, we don’t know what is happening to the PDP in the South-West. We have lost our identity in the scheme of things; strangers seem to have taken over the party we laboured for because of disunity among us, so, I think the meeting is timely,”the source told Saturday Tribune in confidence on Friday.

It was further learnt that five representatives per state are being expected at the meeting.

DerideGull: I have problem with the manner and tone of the alleged letter from Governor of CBN to President of Nigeria. The channeling of the letter lacked professionalism required of people manning sensitive position of a country. If Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was not up to a sort of political mischievousness, he would have copied Minister of Finance and Director of NNPC. Nigerians talk and yarn about transparency from their government yet failed to question the intention of dubious letter from Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

There are certain documents on government transactions that are not meant for public consumption. So you should be advised to forget the idea of seeing such documents unless you have some forms of clearance from the government.

Look pal, Nigeria is not a nation and needs to be restructured. I am for any probe that will expose all facts and any party found delinquent should be summarily dealt without reservation.
The problem you have with Sanusi's professionalism is one thing, but as someone pointed out, it may not be prudent to give the alleged thieves heads up, which could give them plenty of time to hide their possible misdeeds.

That said, do you not agree with me that the senate probe should be extended to banks and bankers who may be able to provide any information on who is pocketing the billions of dollars in interest? Don't tell me that you have any reservations on this. Despite your reservations about Sanusi's motives, do you not agree that all potential culprits in the alleged potential criminality should be investigated?
Politics › Re: Senate Probes Alleged Missing $49.8 Billion by nduchucks: 3:06am On Dec 14, 2013
DerideGull: Mr. Chucks,

You have disappointedly turned yourself into a Star gazer. Do the countries and companies that buy crude oil from Nigeria deal with CBN? The buyers deal with banks designated by NNPC and other entities in downstream petroleum business not CBN. The onward remittance to CBN is carried out by NNPC and other entities as when due and required by the law of the land.

It is unfortunate that the governor of CBN has joined forces with President’s political opponents in a silly character assassination. If estimated crude oil worth of $50 billion dollars is missing, how does the government meet its responsibilities for the fiscal year?
Thank you very much for your reply and I completely agree with you that banks designated by NNPC can document the movement of these NNPC monies. While we must condemn character assassination wherever it is found, I must confess to you that I have never seen any documentation or accounting provided to the public which includes interest paid on these monies.

I'm sure you'd agree with me that the senate probe should extend to banks and bankers who may be able to provide any information on who is pocketing the billions of dollars in interest. Don't tell me that you'd have any reservations on this.

DerideGull: Bros you are dealing with borderline goons. A fund or capital that might not have been accrued or received or even remitted by the buyers of the crude oil has been declared missing. Nigeria needs to go.
Mr. Gull,

Would you happen to know where NNPC keeps the proceeds from their transactions before they remit them to CBN as required by law? Do they use banks or do they maintain their own banks or vaults?
