This rare historical fact must have been passed down the generational line through the so called ALO (tales by the moonlight affair/story telling). Chei, biafrans will love this tale. Oh my! www.nairaland.com/attachments/180447_ROTFLMAO_gif3d0c775232c7f27cf80592785b9635b6 |
Eziachi: Asking the blue print for splinting Nigeria is like telling us that you don't know where you come from Niger republic, who just tumbles into Nigeria. When the time comes, you will sure be told. Leave Biafra territory as matter for Biafra and its people and the likes of Asari to worry about. Worry about your own territory first. Igbos and Ijaws are no strangers to each other as they had co-habited for centuries and they both don't have to be inside one nation to survive. Not to worry, Asari and his cohorts will never allow you people to annex them or dominate them. BTW: Asari and his people are no biafrans, never been and never will be ![]() |
Eziachi: Yes you are not Czechoslovakia, but it an example that you can end a marriage without shedding blood, if you so wished, for some of you determined not to live together and at the same time don't want to divorce either. You of all people should have become weary of violence and war, afterall you escaped the ultimate price during the civil war. Instead of helping to find a peaceful way forward, you are here polluting the minds of younger generation to their detriment. Oga, go and enjoy your retirement peacefully and don't open old wounds. I have news for you - you lost the civil war!! |
Onlytruth: Again my question: Why do you ALWAYS assume a violent breakup of Nigeria?Be man enough to own up to your real beliefs. Was a single shot fired when Czechoslovakia disintegrated? Was a shot fired when the Baltic states left the ALMIGHTY Soviet Union?I'm sorry to say that one of your problems is that you people do not know who you are, nor understand your identity. Czechoslovakia is no Nigeria. I don't think you can sweep the civil war under the carpet and pretend it never happened. Give me a blueprint of how you can split Nigeria up without very violent repercusions, please. I'm still waiting. I find it interesting that most of the proponents of this disintegration are loumouth biafra apologists who are looking for a back door towards reestablishing the biafra territory. I'm quite sure the Asaris of the ND will not appreciate that gesture. Trust me, they are not on your side. |
rexbuton: As soon As The dialogue begins, all exploration rights, mining concessions and ownership of oil blocks must be revoked. And fresh negotiations would be decided. You cannot have alh. dantata owning oil blocks in The creeks, it is against federal character. They would also decide on demilitarised zones close to The borders And free trade areas, afterall we Are all brothers, aren't we?Interesting. If the owners of those blocks are not fairly compensated, I'm sure this idea may die very quickly. |
Onlytruth: Most people would agree that mad persons are wont to call others "mad", and life long career prostitutes usually call others "ashawo" even before saying anything intelligible. It is an old survival trick called "attack as a form of defence". lolSomething tells me that your head is empty as far as solutions to the questions I raised are concerned. Your fist sentence above is so incoherent that I'm starting to worry about you. I am not assuming that blood must be shed, I am asking you for suggestions which would avoid wars which would lead to bloodshed. The truth is, when its time to work and provide real solutions, you people suddenly become brainless. sanu ![]() |
DerideGull: All the places with fixed federal assets will remit certain percentage of fund to a pool for determined period which will be shared among nation states otherwise would have been denied the access to assets as a result of disintegration. Refusal to abide by the principles reached by the body setup by the nation states could lead to diplomatic wars or even shooting wars.I'm afraid you are still talking about sharing common resources. You may as well remain in Nigeria and devise a fairer way to share same. If you call for separation, make it a clean getaway, so my question remains: How do you share the assets? Assuming that majority of the parties do not trust others to keep their end of the bargain. |
olabukola: all seaport and airport in Yoruba nation belongs to us. Anything in ur region belongs to you. It's only oil that we sit and talk/negotiate how to share the revenue. National debt also will be shared. Since the north claims higher population they will get high share of the debt. This stance will not get you very far within the national dialoge framework. |
Onlytruth: Much as I would like Nigeria to somehow survive and thrive as the pride of the black man, FACTS ON GROUND, and my Christian faith discourage me.nwanne m, put you bigotry and hatred aside for a minute and suggest solution to the question I raised. This is what a dialogue is all about - if you are not disciplined enough to converse like a sane person on nairaland, how do you expect the so-called national dialogue to succeed when there are people like you and even worse all over the place? You cannot hide by calling me names and I refuse to respond by similarly calling you Ewu can beer or some other character. Answer the question, my friend! dolo |
rexbuton: if the country divides today, iT is Very possible that host states would lay claims to the assets present in their states especially fixed assets like ports ! An equitable means would have been to analyse the source of the revenue with Which the assets were acquired, then they would be shared on a pro-rata basis. For example, assets acquired in the pre-crude era, would most probably be have been gotten with proceeds from agriculture and mining sectors, So there's is nothing wrong in pushing these things things to those agro centres, it would particularly be possible For movable infrastructure. We would also have to pay attention to depreciation of these assets over time and there would be compensation. Military equipment, vessels, technology could be shared this way. Then For assets acquired in the oil era, the oil producing Areas would receive preference before others, because the advent of oil heralded the death of other sectors. The only exception would be lagos, due to The monies accrued from import duties and tariffs. This is just one option, more to follow...This is the kind of analysis, devoid of tribal sentiments which need to take place for successful non violent separation. Unfortunately, I am not sure that the bigots, the greedy, and the racists among us will allow that exercise to be carried out in good faith. I invite others to continue from where you left off. Kudos buddy. |
I will commit my resources towards going 'our seperate ways' as soon as bright minds can proffer viable solutions to these issues: 1) How do we share the assets jointly owned without bloodshed. Assets like seaports, airports, investments in developing natural resources? I invite brilliant minds to list potential solutions to this problem. I have more but let's start with this. It is not enough to lazily yell separation without any framework which wouldn't lead to unnecessary violence. I humbly await reasonable contributions. |
Ngwakwe: Obdurate and irredeemable Tribalist Ndu_chucks going gaga with sarcastic approval this time. The burden is on you to prove that I am a tribalist and which tribe is mine. I suppose your cheap shot is not unrelated to my constructive criticism of your recent disappointing posts. If you are honest, you'd know that I express my opinion regardless of tribal consideration unlike folks like you, who used to be objective but have since allowed tribalism to becloud their better judgements. |
We have a very incompetent Armed Forces along with a grossly incompetent Commander-In-Chief. The day BH gets hold of a jet bomber and flies across our porous or non existent 'secure' air space, to attack Aso Rock and NASS, is the day that these cone heads in Abuja will realize that we are at war. For now, billions of available naira in security votes to steal, dey shack dem. mumus |
Could this President actually have a drinking problem as alleged by many people? Even Osun Defender is repeating the story on saharareporters. |
I wish the President and the first lady quick and complete recovery, if this story is true. If false, I'd like to send a personal message to the original author of the story "Egbe ndi Abriba piafuka gi isi, ewu" |

Kano state simply enforced its laws which are quite constitutional, the last time I checked. Law abiding citizens will not try to bring in contrabands where they are banned without expecting to face the law. One of the problems in this country is that too many people break the law with impunity. kudos to kano state for enforcing theirs. The courts are there for people who believe that their constitutional rights have been violated. |
Politicians should let this woman be. She has been abused enough, please give her space to rebuild her life without undue influence by political hawks. |
This is the first thread created by Engr. Comrade Musiwa which contains more posts than Musiwa's posts. I wonder why all of a sudden, the people who have been calling Musiwa crazy and cursing out 'who ever did this to Musiwa', now see it fit to endorse his postulations here. The fear of Jagaban Borgu may very well be the beginning of wisdom, in this day and age. una welll done o. |

ow11: One of Lugard's reasons for the amalgamation was because the Northern protectorate was operating a budget deficit and the South was very rich. Since the Crown had insisted that colonies must not be subsidised form London, He thought a merger would still keep the French from owning parts of British Territory. The above is a bold face lie. What evidence do you have to support this story - slave trade does not count. Indulging you for a bit, How long did the groundnuts, cotton and hides sustain the Nigerian economy post 1960 and how many years has the Northern states benefited from crude oil sales and Beer VAT receipts? Please be adviced that less that 1% of Nigeria's oil revenues in the past 40 years was generated from on shore resources. So what's your point? Can you people swim tens or more miles offshore to claim the offshore territories? una be Mami Water? |
@OP, make you sef start ya own blog and begin make money if you get the kind talent wey worth plagiarising na. Abi you be learner ni? |
Frankly, the OP has no point or case until he reveals his true identity to NLers. This is a faceless forum and only 3 people can legitimately make a claim such as yours and they are Seun, Jarus, and ndu_chucks who are well known by all an d sundry. ![]() |
Jakumo: To cut a long story short, Sam, you are advocating that Nigeria be split up so that the northern part of the country, whose territorial contribution to the oil wealth that sustains the nation is precisely zero, should be be allowed to carve out its own desolate and land-locked Islamic Republic of Sharianistan, whose economy will be fueled entirely by prayer and suicide bombing, thus freeing up the south to pursue ecomonic growth financed by the crude oil deposits yet untapped beneath its feet.Though your post is filled with hateful and vitriolic pronouncements, you succeeded in pointing out the foolishness and futility of Sam_Ikenna's relentless prescription. Let's hope the biafran is smart enough to take note. Jakumo, it is unbecoming of you not to have also pointed out that before oil, your economy was sustained primarily by hides and skins, groundnut, cocoa, and other agricultural products, most of which were not produced in the south. If these lazy southerners in the oil producing states have a short memory and remain ungrateful, they will pay for that error soon enough. |
What we have here is a dumb President, who is unable to manage his own political party, put in charge of the greatest security challenge we've faced as a country in 50 years. How can you people expect positive results? I am beginning to suspect that keeping the conflict in place is in the best interest of this incumbent President. This man must lease office in 2015 or earlier, one way or the other. Sadly the SE/SS leaders who are cheering him on do not have relatives living anywhere North of Abuja. |
