Faeb: Tell am jare!
What we need is a system that is representative of the citizen, protects them, ensures their fundamental rights and rewards their creativity and labour. Nigeria fails every single one of the above; we need to either dismantle and rebuild our federalism or let each sub nation do the walkies.

A good starting point would be a debate that leads to a contract that concretises the definition of "Nigerian", state-citizen responsibilities and marshals a Nigerian ideology. Without this, we will continue to bumble along with drunken steps that lead only to backwardness, a meaningless geographic entity with an anarchic population; staggering from failure to greater failure.
You people are living in denial. You are incapable of pushing your agenda through the national assembly, unable to nobilze through interest groups and other democratic activist tools, yet you want to dismantle our fragile democracy? How many laws have your interest groups pushed through?

We have a constitution, your reps can amend them and if they do so to your dissatisfaction, organize yourselves and throw them out! That is democracy. If you are minimally incapable of participating in democracy, how do you suppose your SNC will be organized? Who will represent your interests at the negotiating table? Would it not be the same people who are ruling you now, the same senators and reps? olodo.

SapeleGuy: Thank you. I have visited them and can confirm that they don't need 'a handout'. They are a society of fishermen and farmers, their source of livelihood has been destroyed.
You can arrogantly call farm subsidy, grants, and government sponsored training for these fishermen and farmers, handouts, but the fact remains that such social programs are good for them and the country at large.

SapeleGuy: The land they used to till now oozes crude oil, the rivers they used to fish in are black with crude oil. The problem needs to be fixed, a handout will not do or fix the problem. These environmental problems are not irreversible, Obama showed us how multinationals should be dealt with, he did this in days. The clueless, cowardly and compromised leaders in Nigeria have not responded to this problem for decades. The question is why have they not responded?
I also do not understand why you are not aware of the fact that most Nigerians wholeheartedly support the clean up of the environmental disaster created by oil exploration in the area. You are preaching to the choir on this point.  The leaders have failed us woefully and these leaders hail from North, East, West, and South

SapeleGuy: In this same space of time one of the most modern cities in Africa has been built in Abuja, so please tell me why the environmental degradation in the Niger Delta can't be fixed?
The answer to your question lies in the bad leadership mentioned above. By the way, we have GEJ as president, what aggressive and concrete steps has he taken to date, to address the environmental disaster and other pressing ND issues?
Politics › Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by nduchucks: 1:13pm On Dec 28, 2010
@Sapeleguy, I don't disagree with most of your post. I however do not blame marginalized people, regardless of which state they are from for their demise. Throwing money at a problem is a cliche that is not applicable here. Money alone will not resolve the issue but is surely necessary to begin to help these people.

There are thousands (if not millions)of youths in the ND, and  elsewhere that need to be assisted with training and other helpful ideas. ND people are hardworking, but believe me, the marginalized people of the area will take any assistance available to them. Count yourself lucky that you do not need such assistance. Go and visit the Ogoni people and tell them that they are hardworking and do not need a handout.

I agree with you that many governors from the North have failed us woefully, but so have governors from the South, East, and West.  I'm glad that CPC and ACN are now talking about an alliance which, Insha Allah will spell doom for PDP and her thieving leaders. We desperately need good leadership.
Politics › 2011: Cpc, Acn May Announce Pact Today by nduchucks(op): 1:03pm On Dec 28, 2010
The end is near for PDP and her thieving leaders. After this alliance, APGA and LP should follow and PDP will fall in 2011 for sure. I laugh very happily in shawshaw (spelling).

The Congress for Progressive Change and the Action Congress of Nigeria are likely today to announce reaching an alliance pact for the 2011 presidential elections, where the two parties would field a joint ticket on a single platform.

A meeting that started last night in Abuja between negotiating teams of the two parties went on into the early hours of this morning, trying to agree on a vice presidential candidate and a platform for the joint ticket.

A source told Daily Trust that other items on the agenda of the meeting were discussions on how to ensure rigging-proof elections next year and also how to encourage members to register as voters.

Faeb:
Talking about social security as an excuse to continue with flawed and useless system, is just the height. The problems in the ND and the disgrace of almajiri are the result of a wicked govt system that benefits parasites only.
We need to dismantle the system to save our lives.
The bolded  part above has now shown us that you share the same philosophy with the Boko Haram extremists, and other extremists thugs of ND like MEND. You people are incapable of ruining our dear country. You are better off helping to formulate and nurture our democracy to adulthood. Your first assignment is to find out who you Rep is, and submit legislation, for him to push through. This gunboat rascality will get you nowhere. olodo.

You can't dismantle  the last man that stole your girlfriend and you are here talking about dismantling the great nation of Nigeria! Wonders shall never end. Unpatriotic people like you belong in jail. Rakumin dajij
Politics › Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by nduchucks: 1:22am On Dec 28, 2010
@Onlytruth, negro please!! Your thieving leaders, are squarely responsible for the failures of the systems you are describing. If they spent 10% of the funds under their management properly without looting them, we would have been further ahead. The alottment of your blames smacks of laziness and ignorance, buddy. Quota system ko, Quorum ni.

@Sapeleguy, the common people of the ND, the almajiris, and indeed the youths in Nigeria who are denied education for reasons beyond their control, are the most marginalized Nigerians. We should be ashamed of the demise of these people.  A good social security system funded by only 0.005% of annual looted funds by your governors, the feds, and the legislators should be more than enough to take care of these people.

Do you prefer a country where Islamic extremists go to plant bombs inside churches on Christmas eve?

@Onlytruth, stop acting like Mr. Dummy Beaf na. I told you that I needed more information before reaching the conclusion that those laws should be abolished. I then asked you specific questions that may help me answer my question. But what did you do? You started discussiong new issues.

Ngwanu, exactly what question did you want me to answer? List the disadvantages/advantages of the said law to help me reach a conclusion, olodo.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by nduchucks: 12:41am On Dec 28, 2010
@Sapeleguy, only a dictator in Nigeria can bring about true federalism in the time frame that you believe it should be implemented. The realities on ground however, shows that there are both national and foreign based competing interests that will slow any President down.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by nduchucks: 12:33am On Dec 28, 2010
@Onlytruth, answer the question my friend!! What are the advantages and disadvantages of this law from the perspective of a progressive Nigeria?

Abi you are not capable of making your point? We Nigerians are all in the same boat, regardless of our states of origin. Please leave the failed leaders out of this, no one can defend them - they hail from every part of Nigeria.

Do you agree that in some cases, nations find it necessary to institute some sort of quota system, to correct an unfair imbalance in certain areas. Would you concede that at some point in time there was a major educational gap that needed to be bridged in certain parts of Nigeria?

Merit alone is not enough - certain actions are necessary to ensure that women and other ethnic and educational minorities are not shut out of the national cake - so to speak. Do you now believe that we are advanced and sophisticated enough that merit alone should do?  Even countries like the USA do not believe that Merit alone suffices to ensure justice and prevent discrimination. ko kwa?

Please note that I am not suggesting that our laws do not need revision.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by nduchucks: 12:17am On Dec 28, 2010
@Onlytruth, stop beating about the bush! What are the advantages and disadvantages of this law from the perspective of a progressive Nigeria. Please forget ethnicity or tribe. I'm all ears. Make your case, we may even agree kpa kpa.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by nduchucks: 12:04am On Dec 28, 2010
Onlytruth:
Okay, lets try!

Do you accept to abolish quota system and federal character and zoning of offices based on regions and tribes? huh
I believe there is value in many of our laws, our legislators should revise them to suit our needs.  I do support the revision of laws or constitutional provisions that have become outdated.  I wouldn't simply say that I would accept the abolition of any law without having studied or read studies that conclude that the law is no longer serving its purpose.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by nduchucks: 11:59pm On Dec 27, 2010
SapeleGuy:
Our regions are not hypothetical, you don't have to limit yourself to a region, the sustainability question applies to all of Nigeria. I like the idea of accountability you tendered but just think how powerful that would be within an environment where true federalism was allowed to flourish?
Indeed, our nation will become the greatest nation in Africa when we get there. I do believe that our goal should indeed be true federalism. We do however have to approach its implementation very delicately while being sensitive to everyone's interests. As a practical matter, I don't believe we can achieve true federalism in the next 5 years, but we can design a fairer system that will ultimately get us there.

We have enough resources to become to become the greatest nation in Africa, but we have been suffering from the curse of Oil. Insha Allah, we will be free from this curse soon.  Good leadership is all it takes.

@udezue, Even if those areas are indeed Igboland, they make up less than 10% of the land you people claim to be yours. My statement remains correct.

@Sapeleguy, there is nothing interesting about Onlytruth's point of self sustainability of other regions, if he succeeds in his futile attempt at creating the said nation.  It suffices to remind you people that, it is in the record that, it was the farmers in the North that produced the groundnuts and resources that supplemented the various budgets of the West and East up till 1970.

Onlytruth's superiors have already attempted to carve out a nation from land they did not own - they lost that war and should learn to live with it.

I wonder why every area of the ND or the so-called south south which you claim is Igboland, is oil producing. Why is it that 90% of the land that you people claim to be Igboland is oil producing?  These people do not want to be part of you or share your identity. Leave us (them) alone!!

We have not yet forgotten how many of you claim that subtantial parts of Lagos is Igboland, small time, Sabon Gari in Kaduna and Kano will be Igboland. cheesy
Politics › Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by nduchucks: 10:42pm On Dec 27, 2010
@Onlytruth, you are not smart enough to put the wool over the eyes of bright forumites who are capable of reading right through your foolery. Igbo land ko, Congo land ni. I suppose Port Harcourt is not oil producing.  Indeed none of the Ikwerre land which you probably claim is Igboland,  is oil producing.

Oil is not a major factor in your "false" claims of other people's land as Igboland.  Your superiors have already fought the war and lost, deal with it!
Politics › Re: Atiku Challenges Jonathan To Debate by nduchucks: 10:11pm On Dec 27, 2010
GEJ sycophants lead by Beaf are quite narrow minded.  Their peanut brains do not allow them to see that the party who forms an alliance with LP and APGA wins the presidential election.

PDP is on its way to oblivion! GEJ's handlers are well advised to prevent him from debating Atiku. Most people know that GEJ's wife is more brilliant than GEJ himself. clueless olodo.

I think it is safer to stop at the bolded. Port Harcourt is Igbo town. The British know this and is therefore defensible internationally when the saga begins.
Would one be right to also conclude that most of the oil producing land in both the old Mid West and the so-called ND area is Igboland? Please identify the remaining Igboland in present day South South region, for our education. Dalu o.

Your name calling is not enough to dodge the issue.

Do you, as a progressive Nigerian (now quite doubtful), find it dispicable that a campaign organization would put together a roadmap for rigging the upcoming presidential election, as revealed by the documents in question?  Do you have the capability to be honest enough to say that whoever is responsible for the production of these documents does not deserve your vote?

Most people have come to expect what your answer to the questions above would be, since your uncle GEJ is at the center of this affair. Olodo

The issue here is not your perception of my personality, the issue is about these documents which spell out GEJ's roadmap to rigging the upcoming election. Be a man, and address the issue, no name calling or bashing of SR. No curse words or abuses please, they will ban your new username agaian, if you stubbornly continue to insult people at will.

I can give more than ten reasons why I support Jonathan.

One of it is that Akanu Ibiam International airport has provided a quick international access to our ailing leader Ikemba.

That alone is huge enough for me.

Sai Jonathan! grin grin grin cool
If I were you, I wouldn't make this, not yet functional, Akanu Ibiam airport a major factor in making a decision to support GEJ. Trust me, air ambulances are designed to be able to take off from air strips that are of less quality than ordinary aerodromes. Its not yet Uhuru, at least until the first 747 or better takes off and lands from Ibiam airport, with air traffic control equipment and personnel at international quality and levels.

Like me, Ikemba speaks Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba fluently.  I wish he had been allotted at least 1 or 2 oil blocks -I suspect he never sought to own any. I disagree with many of his tactics and strategies during the war, but that does not diminish the respect I have for the man.  Frankly speaking, if you've ever had any contact with him, you'd quickly understand why he is loveable and dearly loved by his people.

@Rossike, where is your compassion for a very ill man?
