Faeb: Even inanimate objects understand that your posts are nothing but a bunch of c.rap. pele o, Rakumi |
SapeleGuy:99.999% of Nigerians are actually in support of cause of the ND people. Addressing the environmental damage of the area is only fair and supported by most Nigerians. The mistake that you people continue to make is to lump the causes of criminals like MEND and the Togos of Nigeria with those of the ND people. These criminals should be expunged from the area by force. If any “war crimes” can be proved on the part of any JTF member, the perpetrators should be court marshaled. It is not enough to recite negative propaganda about the JTF and the fine Nigerian army, and claim that r.apes, or any other crime took place without proof . |
SapeleGuy:Are the Abuja bombers not the same so-called freedom fighters of ND? Are the Okah brothers from Bauchi or Borno? These thugs have their roots in the ND region and the roots must be uprooted from the same region. The Army is doing a fine job given the circumstances - don't buy the propaganda by your "freedom fighting" thugs and criminals. May the souls of the dead rest in peace. |
Beaf:Who are you calling Charlie? olodo. Rakimin Dajij |
houvest:houvest, I am very tempted to name your epistle as “The Lamentations of an Igbo Native”. The answer to your question lies in this Igbo idiom: Ana eji anya eke azu di n'ime ofe (the eyes are used to divide the meat in the soup, when eating communually). I’m sure you get the point. Gaskiya tafi kwabo ![]() |
What's all the hoopla about bribe because $50,000 was given to SNG as a token of appreciation? Why do you people think that Nigeria is rated as one of the most corrupt nations in the world? Do yo people think that you earned that reputation by sending billions of naira to poorer countries to provide free housing and education to the poor? Wonders shall never end! GEJ is no visionary as many of you expect, he is parts and parcel of a government wherein corruption is the order of the day. It is time to rid the country of these incompetent and visionless leaders. |
Beaf:Has any of your representatives in the NASS introduced any bill to this end? Has your uncle GEJ pushed for legislation to this end? Your real representatives who are thugs and thieves like MEND and the Togos of this world are not doing you people any good. Your freedom fighters seem to be fighting for their own pockets and the destruction of your people. What a pity! |
SapeleGuy:It is unfortunate that innocent people who may be harbouring criminal terrorists become fair game in war operations. You people need to show overwhelming opposition towards the criminal terrorists parading themselves as freedom fighters. Help the federal government to get rid of them. Its time to take the cause of the ND people to the political arena where it belongs, afterall GEJ is from the area. These MEND thugs and other criminals are quite s.tupid. This is the time to work with GEJ for the betterment of the whole region. |
Beaf:Lets hope you understand that the buck stops with GEJ. If heads must roll, lets hope you can honestly and for once, declare that your uncle GEJ is mishandling the situation. Also note that the long term solution you alluded to, cannot be implemented if the region remains infested with criminals including MEND, who continue to terrorize all and sundry. The millitary needs several major operations to rid the area of these criminals before any lasting political solution can be implemented. Blame your fellow millitant thugs for unfortunate collateral damages. |
Beaf:Oh dear, the ailment is worse than I thought. Please do not give others unnecessary credit because there is only one Ndu_Chucks here. olodo rabata oju eja loma je. Ewu can beer. |
I miss the good ol' Beaf. The Olodo used to be objective and fun to debate. He has since turned into a Rakumin dajij. We shall continue our fun activities after the elections, unless you change ya ways. |
Katsumoto:I'm not sure that Dede1 made a serious effort to turn this thread into a Civil War discourse. He expressed an opinion and was subsequently attacked by being called a revisionist Biafran historian - This is what actually introduced the civil war into the thread. You are typically not mischievious so I'll assume your comment was a way to start a conversation with Dede1. The resulting dialogue promises to be juicy. I dey kampe dey watch. |
Jonathan's action in this case was probably based on findings of a report by Gael Raballand and Edmond Mjekiqi of the World Bank’s transport unit. The report revealed that Nigeria's trade policy has had very negative impact on the economy and also impacted negatively on the efficiency of the Nigeria's customs. Many posters' comments have largely been based on emotions and uninformed assumptions. I'd strongly recommend that everyone should read the world bank report in question. The report is actually a 304 page book. The pertinent portion will be found in Chapter 6 titled Nigeria’s Trade Policy Facilitates Unofficial Trade but Not Manufacturing Here is a Link to the report. As usual, instead of implementing a complehensive solution to the problem, they (GEJ and his advisers)decided to provide piecemeal solutions. The solution to these policy problems have been spelt out in the world bank report. Why can't GEJ and his advisers take a wholistic approach to solving the problem? The answer may lie in GEJ's incompetence. |
dcopolopo:dcopolopo, what does it matter whether the said justice is selective? If Soludo committed any crime, he should be prosecuted and if found guilty, sent to jail. The only problem I have with the British in this case, is the timing of their making the investigation of Soludo public. No sane human being should be in opposition of Soludo's investigation. |
Katsumoto:Haba! I thought at some point or the other, we agreed that the regimes of Shagari, IBB, and Abacha, were nothing to write home about, at the very least. My expectations for our next President is quite high. GEJ in my opinion would make a mediocre President - the guy is clueless. |
bidemi12: Carry ya wahala go abeg. I feel sorry for the likes of you. |
bidemi12:Is Soludo running for office in the UK? Your point is senseless, actually. If you read my posts with an open mind, you would have noted that my complaints was about the British meddling in our internal affairs. By the way, the snide remark you made about Nigerians in your post did nothing to flatter you, Mr or Mrs Bidemi. Mgbo piafuka gi isi! olodo. P.S. Mallam, ko Yarinya Bidemi, when Sarah Palin declares that she will be a contender for the office of the President in the USA, you and your people in Nigeria, or wherever you are, should open up an investigation. olodo |
Onlytruth:I agree with most of your post. GEJ just does not seem bright enough to effectively do the dismantling you alluded to. The man seems clueless. Just watch some of his interviews and you'll quickly note that he is not destined to be a great President. The best he could have done for the country was to step aside and ensure that the elections are transparent and that every vote would count. His place in history would have been secure and he would have become one of the greatest Nigerians. |
I smell a rat! Only a few days ago, Tony Blair and other British agents publicly declared their support for GEJ. Soludo, who could be a game changer, were Atiku to announce that he'd be his running mate, is suddenly being looked at, by British investigators. The British need to stop meddling in our political affairs. There is nothing wrong with carrying out their investigations quietly and letting the chips fall where they may. Going public at this point in time is an affront to our political process and they should be warned to bu.tt out. |
The responses on this thread show very clearly that GEJ's candidacy as the PDP flagbearer will not be the cake walk he has always assumed it would be. A rude awakening may await GEJ if he continues to underestimate Atiku, or the likes of Ciroma and IBB. Northern politicians have historically out maneuvered, out foxed, out strategized, out witted, the Southern politicians since before independence. To think that the inexperienced, naive, and basically stupid GEJ will demistify the Northern ruling class would be foolhardy. |
I suspect that IBB's people do not expect Atiku to defeat GEJ in the PDP primaries. Frankly if GEJ were to defeat IBB in the said primaries, IBB's political future would have been dealt a death blow. With the new development, IBB can still be drafted by a party other than PDP to challenge GEJ, if Atiku does not win the primaries. The game may not yet be over for IBB. |
silami:silami, I'm afraid you are the one powering your mouth with silly emotional outbursts. It is senseless to have a president with allegations that could lead to prosecution as a president. If you don't understand that, then I can't help you. I have not stated in my post that Atiku has been convicted of any crime, I said he is a potential criminal defendant. By the way, not all PDP aspirants are linked to criminal activities with a looming indictment in the USA - The former US congressman involved in the corruption case with Atiku was sent to prison for 13 years! . Please educate yourself before spewing rubbish here. I hope you understand what potential means. olodo |
It should be noted that Atiku is only a "Northern" consensus candidate as far as PDP alone is concerned. The Ciroma group neither represents the will of most Northerners, nor those of most Nigerians. Any organization, interest group, or body that does not understand the gravity of having a President who is a potential criminal defendant in US courts, needs to have its head examined. Nigeria already has a bad reputation - thanks to the 419ers, now you want to have a potential criminal defendant as the leader of Nigeria?? Okwute Palestinian pifuka gi isi, is my message to the Ciroma group! The Ciroma group lives in a bubble and is completely disconnected from the real Northerners. What a disgraceful choice! Frankly I hope Atiku defeats GEJ, who by the way will not make a better President than Atiku. GEJ is clueless. Insh Allah, PDP will implode and its candidate will lose this election. |
@Mariory, That was a typo. I meant to write mob. @Naijaking, You must be a gentleman. You are even polite when attempting to insult people. You my friend are cool. olodo. ![]() |
Beaf:The fact that the posts contains uncomfortable facts does not make it tribalist. The post belongs in the politics section. The Araba pogroms were real and they indeed took place. Please ignore Beaf, he probably believes in anarchy. |
chyz:Don't be surprised if a candidate like IBB or Buhari wins your very ward, with the help of Ojukwu. |
Beaf:Beaf, This new persona of yours is more careless, less cordial, and outright irresponsible. You assumed this character since GEJ became the President of Nigeria. Reigning abuses and in many cases, causes on people who have views contrary to yours, has become the order of the day, as far as many of your posts are concerned. You people need to find good advisers for GEJ so that he will not throw our dear country into chaos and/or avoidable war. His handling of the criminals of ND including MEND, is a prime example of his incompetence. olodo |
Pharoh:If you believe my initial post can divide an already divided south, then I have overestimated the soundness of your judgement. There is division between ethnic groups, all over the south, from the south west to the south south, so your point is not sensible, with due respect. Truth be told, it is the presence of Northerners in Nigeria that has prevented southerners from annihilating themselves because of senseless regional conflicts. Pharoh:One cannot accuse you of being a nationalist. Rakumin Dajij |
naijaking1:lol @ naijaking1. The account in my first post is factual. It is not enough to say that classic ndu_chucks posts are made up of some fuzzy statistics as you put it. The fact remains that they used the tolo thingy to smokeout Igbos - by the way, there is nothing to celebrate about the whole affair. naijaking1:My post is about an incident of Araba which took place in Kaduna. The facts of that araba remain as I've stated them. You are free to describe other attacks if you wish - that's your cup of tea. Please open a new thread and give us details of those attacks. olodo |
jason12345:You must have been reading "history" books written by revisionists rather than historians. Just wait for a few hours, our resident historian Dede1 will confirm that Arabas took place. He may however not admit that more than 50% of the mob in kaduna were not northerners as that may not bode well for his preferred account. I don't understand how you reached the conclusion that I think ALL igbos would support or be against GJ. olodo |
Pharoh:Mallam Pharoh, how in the world did you reach your conclusion? What does IBB have to do with me or my post? I would have liked to read your comments on the attrocities committed by southerners agianst ndigbo during the said Arabas. An apology to Ndigbo on behalf of ya brothers would have been sufficient. olodo |
naijaking1:naijaking1, stop being so paranoid - there is no hidden agenda here. A. Yes B. No, I reported historical facts in my post. What do you perceive as revisionism in the post? C. Don't know what you are talking about here. D. Very funny. GEJ is probably effeminate enough to be scare by a nairaland post by little me. @~Bluetooth, The events took place after the Nzeogwu coup and before the civil war. I'm not surprised that many people are not aware of the various attrocities committed against Ndigbo by Southerners, old Mid Westerners, and some Yorubas who lived in Kaduna during the said period. If you are familair with Kaduna, if you make a turn into Katsina road towards Quarters, the area around the bridge down the road, was used as incineration arenas where victims were burnt to death! Very sad. |
