Common sense should tell most people that if this report is favorable to GEJ and his cohorts, it would have been released right away and the usual suspects would have been shoutin "Fresh Air" all over the place.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are using this delay to further cook the books thereby making them in line with the audit report. But not-to-worry. President Buhari and Attorney General Lai Mohammed will expose then soon enough.

I really want to believe that this story is false, but if it is true, GEJ simply needs to tender his resignation. This is too much of a disgrace to our great nation.

Stop attempting to shift the focus from your failed leader. The issue here is how the commander-in-chief is handling this war shi kena.

Go and open a thread on OBJ and discuss him, if you know how to open a thread. dolo

NNPC rougues, Subsidy thieves, corrupt Army leaders, thieving thugs from the SS (Tompolo, Asari and others) are ganging up to stop Buhari by all means.

Unfortunately for them, Nigerians are wiser today. The days of these thieves, who have hitherto operated with impunity, are numbered.

One of the reasons why I don't believe anything said by these primates is that they appear to be quite dumb. How can anyone call himself a Primate? Do they even know that Primates arose from ancestors that lived in the trees of tropical forests? Why are they putting themselves in the same category as eastern lowland Gorillas and mouse Lemurs? nansense

Fani-Kayode is on point. The first thieving virgin which will be made to face the full force of law will be FFK himself so one can't be surprised that he is being used to fight for PDP with his last drop of blood.

my problem with the military is they chase them when boko get to their territory they turn bk allow them to regroup and come for fresh attack

y not pursue them to their base uproot them destroy their network take over the base and prevent future attacks

seems some pple dont want d war to end
That's the height of incompetence and the worst display of lack of leadership and command one can imagine. GEJ has never ordered any offensive action against these thugs. They need to be pursued all the way to Chad and Niger republic to put the heat on these government who are also supporting BH. If GEJ is serious, this war could be over in a matter of days.

Lets hope the newly aquired attack helicopters have been deployed to the war torn areas. If so, this so-called offensive should last no more than 30 minutes before the culprits are wiped out!

I'm afraid though, that our commander-in-chief may not have procured the services of mercenaries to operate the helicopters until our boys are ready.

Lets assume for a minute that a Perjury lawsuit is instituted against Buhari and he loses the case, what is the fine for Perjury? Nothing in the case would be enough to discredit Buhari more than GEJ has already been discredited, nothing in the case gives INEC or any other body the authorization to disqualify him from running for office, or from being removed after he wins.

So you people are simply crying over spilled milk. GEJ is a goner.

An individual can bring a suit against GMB on this issue,it has its procedures.
If u want us to forget this distraction, you might as well toil with constitutional criteria, and it doesn't speak well for the polity.
If he has the certificate required,he should tender it,that's the law.
Let's not make excuses for him, we experience this when looking for employment, unless you runz it,which is corruption
I don't think an individual can bring a criminal case against anyone, only law enforcement bodies can do that.

Obinoscopy:
The legal proceeding would be that Buhari lied to the court (perjury) by saying his credentials are with the Military. If the military fail to present his credentials during the legal proceeding, then Buhari is fried.

This is my theory: Buhari couldn't find his credentials. He then tried getting a photocopy from his file in the Military. The Military, just like the typical government agency who don't have a good record keeping tradition, realised that they can't even find Buhari's photocopies. Thus Buhari and the APC decided to put the blame on the Military by swearing an affidavit indicting the Military of being in custody of his credentials. What Buhari fail to realise is that the Military will always want to absolve itself of any blame. And they could do that by denying ever being with Buhari's credentials. And if they do that, it means Buhari has committed perjury.
That perjury case would be impossible to prove, if it ever gets to court. For obvious reasons, individuals cannot bring a criminal case of perjury against Buhari, and I don't see how any law enforcement authority will bring such a charge, in the current political climate.

This issue is a mere distraction from dealing with more important issues which should be addressed by both GEJ and Buhari. We, as a country will suffer for this irresponsible act of distraction.

My own theory is that Buhari's certificate has been lost by the authorities for quite some time. However, the certificate is not an issue because you don't get to rise to the position of a General, successfully pass through several millirary courses (some at the master's level), in Nigeria and abroad, if you do not have the qualifications reflected on the said certificate.

We should be holding Buhari's feet to the fire by demanding that he shares his vision for Nigeria with us in more details, instead of wasting time on this certificate saga. We already know that GEJ is a failure.

Will Nairaland Still Be Open If Buhari Was President?

He promulgated Decree No 4 of 1984  that restricted Press freedom and imposed hefty jail terms on violators whose opinion  were considered injurious to his government , he never tolerated descent under any guise!

Fela was at the receiving End of his anger for singing about selective justice and corruption among the northern elite,

My Question is Simple If Buhari was president will Nairaland be standing today?

Nairalanders are wonderful they can turn a simple (innocent) picture, into something hilariously spectacular

The Freedom on this Forum is almost infinite but till date No Nigerian is in Jail or gone into Exile for expressing his Views or holding an Opinion !

Will This Have been Possible Under A Buhari Presidency?

even before Obama showed his birth certificate to the public,
the relevant authorities had screened the documents and cleared him for the political office.

We are not even asking buhari to show us, the public, his school certificate.
He should simply submit it to INEC!
The law allows for the submission of an affidavit in lieu of the certificate itself. If I were in your shoes, I'd hang on to any distraction to shift focus from GEJ's failures. I no blame una.

You people have a few more weeks to enjoy before your venue of celebrations is shifted to Otuoke.

@Barcanista, even before the source in the military stated that the Military are not in possession of Buhari's Original Credentials, I found that Buhari's statement on his affidavit very strange. Employers are not known to keep certificates of its employees.

However, I know Buhari is a man of integrity and many academic achievements. I don't doubt his credibility for this election. However, it's his responsibility and the responsibility of the party to present his certificates to INEC or if it's missing, they present an affidavit explaining what happened and attach any other form of evidence to back up the affidavit claims (like a police report or sth). Failing to do so might affect him later if legal proceedings are instituted against him.
Your points are well taken.

However, as a practical matter, there are no grounds for any legal proceedings against Buhari on the basis of this affidavit. Buhari has done nothing illegal and neither has INEC. Any related lawsuit will be summarily tossed out as frivolous. If you believe otherwise, let us know what the legal grounds for such a lawsuit would be.

This statement by Attorney General Lai Mohammed is quite instructive.
