Politics › Re: Man Demands Reps Pay Him N115m For Helping Them Draft 50 Questions! by nduchucks: 7:31am On Dec 27, 2014
Even in the most "advanced" countries, the representatives are not supposed to be experts in every area. They routinely hire experts/consultants to draft legislation and their staff is made up up additional experts for support.

No need to disparage the house members for using a consultant - there is nothing wrong with that. What is wrong is a breach of contract if one exists. The consultant should be paid as agreed to.

Politics › Re: Nothing Wrong With Jonathan's 21 Billion Pledge by nduchucks:
@OP, Sir Barrister Olugbemi Olukayode, your submission up there is typical of irresponsible and ignorant acts which make reasonable people question the quality of our educational system. I assume here that you went to law school in Nigeria, and if you did not, I suspect that you obtained your law degree in one of those fly-by-night on-line law schools.

You quoted an irrelevant section 91 of the The Electoral Act of 2010, to justify the apparent criminality by GEJ and his billion naira contributors, in a foolish attempt to cover-up the apparent criminality. Section 91 as you correctly pointed out, pertains to election expense.

What the heck does election expense have to to with the amount of money an individual can contribute to a political party? What you did with your submission is equivalent to a defence lawyer going to court and stating that his client is not guilty of physically abusing his wife after beating her until her eyes were gouged out, because he did not commit the crime of rape. Barrister does that make sense to you?

The relevant sections in the electoral act which you should focus on are section 91 (9) and section 90. phillips70 has already done justice to section 91 (9).

Section 90: 90. - (1) The commission (INEC) shall have power to place limitation on the amount of money or other assets which an individual or group of persons can contribute to a political party.
So Sir, Barrister, your homework is to go and find out the limit which INEC has placed on the said contribution. A first year law student can find this out very easily. Once you've done that, please come back and tell us whether GEJ and his billion naira contributors have violated the law.

Until then, your submission and those of others, blindly defending GEJ and his gang of rogues will be ignored.

I noticed that as well. This makes economic outlook under GEJ and his economic team quite bleak, given that conditions have worsen since 2013.

The earlier we put these pastors and Imams such as Oritsejafor and Gumi, who profit from inciting religious violence and hatred in Nigeria, in jail, for threatening our national security, the better for us.

Gumi & Oritsejafor should not only be threatened but locked up.

Dangote is a big boy and can absorb the hit.

Those of you who have under N50million in the Nigerian stock market and haven't yet cashed out and safeguarded your money in other instruments, are in for very big losses in the next few months.

I sold all of my shares in Nigerian stocks few months ago, I ain't returning for a while. cool

OK, apologies, however I know you did not support him in 2011. Now, in the said post, you talked about almajri school and Agriculture. I think he has delivered much of those 2. Agriculture is arguably one of the performing ministries and many Almajiri schools have been completed and commissioned....
Quite frankly, I was a card carrying member of the PDP when GEJ came to office, though I did not appreciate the way OBJ essentially forced him on us.

I looked for reasons to support him and was impressed with certain wins by his team. GEJ has since lost my support for the reasons I pointed out in the link I sent you earlier.

Now why do you support GEJ?

They are sentencing our great soldiers to death and prisons for offenses which the commander-in-chief helped to facilitate by creating an environment for failure. While Ihejirika and others cart away billions of naira to run for political office, those on the front lines are sent to harm's way with inadequate equipment.

Come February, 2015, the commander-in chief himself, GEJ, will be court martialed by the people and sent back to Otueke.

Another irresponsible act by an insensitive state government which atimes acts as if the constitutional provisions of this great country should not be respected. You don't have to trample over the contitutional rights of any Nigerian to run your gaddem state. They did the same to my people from the SE now they've grown more wings and are doing it to Northerners.

How I wish you did not have the youthful indescretions in Chicago and elsewhere which cost you the VP slot and the goodwill of Nigerians. Big lesson for the youths here.
Politics › Re: New York, Moody’s Latest Rating On Nigeria Supports Strong Economy by nduchucks: 4:07pm On Dec 23, 2014
For comparison:

Country.....................Rating...................Outlook
Nigeria......................Ba3.......................Stable
Ghana.......................B2........................Negative
Kenya.......................B1........................Stable
Congo.......................B3........................Stable
Brazil........................Baa2.....................Negative

Nigeria is rated higher than all the countries listed above with the exception of Brazil, though Brazil's outlook is given the negative outlook.

This is a good rating for Nigeria and GEJ and his economic team should be given some credit for this report.

Having said that, if our resources are better managed, our rating should be at least Aaa . The same economists who work for GEJ, stabilize the economy on the one hand and loot billions on the other.

When Buhari and his high integrity team of economists take over, I envision our ratings improving to Aaa. I hope GEJ does not take this moody report as a license to run to the big boys for additional $10billion loan. In fact, he should not dare to obtain a single kobo in loans until he and his team of rogues are booted out!

ItsMeAboki:
No mind them, they are too emotional to notice the key words: Multimedia broadcast to AriseTv, which was aired in Nigeria, particularly Abuja; to me that inferred the statement was made in Australia not in Nigeria.

More importantly, if Ihejirika wants to be taken seriously he should also have joined the American Government in the suit, who through its Ambassador wanted him probed for embezzlement of billions of naira it alleged he diverted from military funds meant to fight Boko Haram.

Ihejirika who arguably one of the wealthiest retired Generals allegedly pocketed billions of naira meant for the Army.
According to our source, the US Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle raised the issue when he met recently with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja. Ambassador Entwisle at the meeting at the Presidential Villa, said the U.S is particularly concerned about the sudden riches of Ihejirika........
The US Ambassador told Jonathan that the Americans who were in Nigeria to assist in the fight against insurgents were shocked to find out that what was on ground did not match the billions allocated under Ihejirika’s watch.

Finally, a voice of reason.

The lawsuit filed by Ihejirika is another attempt to deceive gullible tribalists and put the wool over their eyes.
