When I read this piece of news from one of our national dailies I almost wept. And I also realized that as a nation we still have billions of miles to go. In Niger, people did not march against the government because of boko haram. People did not call the government names because of boko haram. Nobody is shifting the blame or blaming the other because of boko haram. Instead, the people are forming a united and indivisible force against this cancer. They are motivating the government instead of using hate speeches. Truly, Nigerians don't love each other. The love we always prophess is fake. We are really staying together just for the gains and not for the faith we have. We go to church and mosque everyday but how many of us had ever dedicated just one hour to pray for our leaders? Do you think they are super-humans? Why do we criticise some people with trepidation while others with uttermost disgust? The speed at which Ebola was fought indicates that we have the potential to fight for a common course because we all knew that everybody's life is at stake. But since boko haram does not carry thesame threat that ebola has, they've not gotten the capacity to spread like the virus, and they're restricted to a particular region so the other regions has developed a kind of 'I don't care attitude'. Even some people from this same region are sympathizers. Do we really have a common future?

Thousands of people marched in Niger’s capital on Tuesday to protest at Boko Haram Islamists who have launched deadly raids in the country from their base in neighbouring Nigeria.

If “someone asks me to take up a weapon, I’m ready for combat,” said 18-year-old Jaafar Ousmane, an enthusiastic student union official, who said that those he
represented were “100 percent” behind the security forces. Boko Haram has waged an insurgency aiming to create a hardline Islamic state in northeast Nigeria since 2009, a conflict that has claimed some 13,000 lives.

In recent months it has extended its raids into neighbouring countries, including Cameroon, Niger and Chad, as they formed a
military alliance with Nigeria to combat the jihadists. Police said on Monday that they had arrested more than 160 people suspected of having links to Boko Haram in Niger’s Diffa region, a border area with Nigeria that was attacked by the Islamists earlier this month.
Boko Haram first struck in Niger three days before parliament on February 9 authorised the army to enter Nigeria to take part in the
regional struggle. Some 3,000 troops are posted along the frontier.

Some at the Niamey march voiced fear of Boko Haram insurgents who might have sneaked into the city. “All we hope for is that this ends well, that there are no infiltrators,” a wary local journalist said.

“Boko Haram scares me. We want peace,” said Seydou Zamo, 45, a photographer who added that he shared concern that the armed group, known for suicide bombings, was in the capital.

John Kerry or whatsoever he's called expressed disappointment that our own election was postponed. I think this guy had not been fair enough for his hasty conclusion. Irrespective of the fact that they control the international system they are still short sighted with the happenings here. We understand our system morethan they do. Must an opposition party takes over before a political system will be tagged democratic? Every country has its own political system and pattern, but I don't buy the idea of one country trying to force the other to adopt its own, and any country that doesn't will be called evil and corrupt. Even in a soccer competition, tiki taka doesn't work for all the teams. Some team can be defensive throughout the competition and become successful.

I'm yet to comprehend why APC wanted the election to hold quickly despite the discrepancies in the distribution of the PVC. And why did Jega insist that the election most hold even when over 30million PVCs had not been distributed mainly to the Southern part? Jega even you! I'm highly disappointed. As an observer and a commentator, I have discovered that for quite some time now the leading politcal cum socio-cultural groups of the Northern Nigeria have been quiet. I know how vibrant they were early last year and how they've been pushing for a president of northern extract. But why are they really keeping mute at this eleventh hour? Is Buhari not the northern candidate they wanted? Is there anything we the observers haven't realized yet? Are they keeping quiet so that Buhari can be seen as a national figure instead of a regional warhead in order not to weep up ethnic sentiment from other constituent units? I almost angrily left the church one Sunday when my pastor was campaigning for Osinbanjo. He announced that Osinbanjo is his friend and that since we are all his spiritual children we should follow him by voting for Osinbanjo, but he received an unencouraging response from the congregation. I just don't know what is happening to the body of Christ these days. And some days ago I overheared an Imam preaching and asking the worshippers to simply vote wisely. Please I need some advice from members of this forum.

I met a lady that I'm attracted to in my church. She is pretty, hard working and cool. She works in a bank and she's very intelligent. I've been chatting her up for some time now and her responses are always short and at times annoying, both online and offline. I'm an extrovert but she told me that she's not just an introvert but she's melancholic and phlegmatic. She's so secretive. She barely get excited and she always keep to herself. How can I get her excited? Is it possible for me to atleast bring her to my own side of the fence? With time do you guys think she will mix up?
