My beloved, I'm actually short of words. I'm most grateful to God for a loyal friend like you. I celebrate you always... Thank you for giving me access to your locker or cupboard back then in school... That unalloyed support was matchless. Thank you so much for that your special custard that liberated me countless times from the clutches of hunger. I'm most grateful for that your bean flour that added protein to my carbohydrate infested life. God bless you for that your powerful palm oil that save me from going blind from drinking much garri. I also want to say thank you for those your beverages, though I took some without your permission, even if you had caught me you still wouldn't have complained. I can't thank you enough for granting me access to your phone and data to use for my final year project since I couldn't afford a laptop or to spend a dime in the café. Your presence in the hostel was a covering for me when I was chased out of my rathole or cubicle since I wasn't a legal occupant. CHARLES, a special brother that stick closer than biological brothers. Forever, and throughout my entire life I promise to be a true friend to you. And as you celebrate your birthday, I promise, you have my loyalty, support and prayers. Surely you have conquered! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROTHER. |

You can't blame Doyin Okupe, it is this administration that specializes in making unpopular people popular through media trials and persecutions. |
There is something you people have refused to understand. This pastors weren't born with silver spoons. They sacrificed and worked in the path of righteousness before they could get to this level. Moreover, what you said about Christ telling His disciples to feed His flocks is being misunderstood here. The Feeding here is talking about the spiritual food-- The Word. I am not saying that the church shouldn't care or provide physical relief. But we need to understand priority-- The spiritual food. The spiritual food which is the Word can provide virtually everything. Christ said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed me to preach the GOSPEL to the poor..." Lk.4:18. What the poor actually need is enlightenment. Poverty has been existing since time immemorial. No government of the world can wipe it out until Christ comes. Nevertheless, these men are trying by making themselves available, and God is using them as conduit pipes to feed us with revelations. They are blessings to our generation. The only thing I want them to do is speak out against any evil government. |
But why are they only catching armed robbers that are loyal to those who are politically opposing them? Just curious though... But well done sha if only it is true.... The fact is just that this administration is capable of any mischief. |

MY HUMBLE RESPONSE: I tried to resist the temptation of replying you to no avail. Please sir, can you list 10 projects started and concluded by the Buhari led administration? Has Nigeria security situation ever degenerated to this level before? Has any government ever promoted nepotism, favouritism and nonchalance like this present administration? Why do all the former PDP members automatically become saints the moment they cross carpet to APC? Is there any corruption as worst as NEPOTISM? Almost all our security apparatus are from one ethnic group-- In the hand of this government the Nigeria Army has totally lost their professionalism. Is the power supply in your area now better after all the promises? After all the promises of stopping medical tourism of our political leaders so that what we have can be developed, but now Buhari is doing otherwise. Has Yusuf Buhari ever worked in any company? How come he could afford a power bike of more than 50 million? It took this administration six months to appoint ministers, we thought they were bringing in technocrats, but lo and behold they brought in fellow thieves. Then why the waste of time? The fact is that they never had plans for us. All they wanted was to grab power. Na integrity we wan chop? Most people are not thief simply because they have not been caught. Buhari can not lead contemporary Nigeria. He is not intelligent and he can't cope and carry intellectual responsibilities. I can go on, and on, and on, and on for eternity if I start listing the sins of Buhari. Now, election is coming closer, this administration has unleashed her internet warriors to paint other people black, after which they (e-warriors) will be relegated to the background. It is only a useless leader that will never take responsibility of his actions--- always blaming and transferring blames. |
Earthbound:THEN YOU NEED TO SEE A PSYCHIATRIST |
Paulloveiheoma:I studied same course in the same institution, Uniport. My problem was that I was always reading foreign literatures or texts. I preferred them than the ones written by those wicked lecturers. Although I used to read their own texts also, but I had preference for foreign books. Foreign authors have wider scope than them. My people, I must tell you guys the truth... I was so bookish. I studied so much that a friend told me that with what I am doing if I do not have a First Class that he would stop studying or reading. Yet, my people, I came out with a Second Class Lower with so much struggling and prayers o. I later realized that Nigeria lecturers would want you to give them what they have given you, whether outdated or current. In fact, to them it is an affront or insult for you to come up with your own ideas, theories, hypothesis or fact, let alone foreign ideas. Even my project supervisor, a prof. saw my work and was forcing me to deny or disclaim my work. In the presence of many people, he checked my work and told me point blank that this can't come from a student of this school. That was exactly when I realized that most of them hardly crave for more knowledge the moment they get to certain height. Pride will not even allow them. I refused to deny my work and he refused to supervise me.... To cut the long story short. I actually fasted for over one week before God intervened. It was my first biggest miracle in life. Now, the penalty of not reading or following their literatures is that I came out with a Second Class Lower. But the rewards of not reading their literatures are that my understanding of life is wider and deeper. Five years after graduation most of the things I read are still fresh in my mind and I still use them in my daily life, relationship, and profession. |
400billionman:These problems are applicable not only to Nigerians but to every youth all over the world. He is not objective enough, and he is still trying to please his pay master by doing some damage control. |
I am running out of this country just because of these three groups or organizations. How can I survive with these people all around me? (1)THE NIGERIA ARMY (2)THE NIGERIA POLICE (3)BUHARI (4)LAI MOHAMMED How can I survive!!!! |
The Nigerian army has taken responsibility for the attack, which resulted in burning down of houses in a Benue community on Thursday. The Army said the attack was in retaliation for the killing of a soldier by some residents of the community. This was made known by Olabisi Ayeni, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Army 707 Special Forces Brigade in Makurdi, who identified the slain soldier as Danlami Gambo. Nigerian Army The soldier was said to have been alone when he was killed in unclear circumstances on Wednesday afternoon. The soldier was thereafter buried in a shallow grave, according to the Army spokesperson. The apparent reprisal by the army resulted in the death of one elderly citizen who was killed in the blaze. Olabisi who said that preliminary investigations revealed that some locals were involved in the killings of the soldier, did not say if the soldiers who participated in the reprisal attack that left a senior citizen dead would be punished for the offence or not. Also confirming the military’s attack on the community, Francis Ayagah, chairman of the local government told newsmen that the soldiers were responsible for the attack. While confirming the killing of a soldier in the community, Ayagah said he had been in touch with the commander of the troops stationed near the town to check ongoing killings linked to herdsmen across Benue State. Mr. Ayyagah who earlier confirmed the arrest of five suspects linked to the death of the military personnel, expressed his dismay that the soldiers could still embark on rampage across the town despite his cooperation. A member of the community said that the military official who was roaming on a farmland near the community, was lynched by hoodlums who mistook him for an intruder, saying that there have been reports that some killers were sighted in military fatigues in the state over the past weeks. Another account said that the slain soldier went to buy bread in large quantity in the community and when asked to identify himself by curious residents, he declined to do so and was subsequently assumed to be an attacker and mobbed to death. The attack by the soldiers has resulted in many people running away from the town because there’s nobody to protect them from attacks by gunmen. According to reports, the situation had been made worse by the withdrawal of police Special Forces from the community following a clash between the officers and commercial motorcyclists a few weeks ago. This website had earlier reported how about 20 houses were set ablaze in gunmen in military camoflague. http://saharareporters.com/2018/04/20/nigerian-army-takes-responsibility-benue-attack |
bugidon:Let us just be truthful and sincere to each other. I am Igbo, but it pains me so much whenever I look around and find out that most(not all) my people place more value on money than even human life. Our value system is really too bad, and it is nothing to write home about. Wealth, fame and riches are so glorified more than hard work, being truthful, and telling the truth. The elders are totally corrupt... In most places(not all) in the East, you are given titles not by how much truth you've told, or by the lives you have imparted, but by how fat your pocket is. Sometime ago, the pastor of my church asked single ladies in the church to come out to be prayed for. surprisingly the entire church was almost empty, and I must confess the bitter truth-- over 70% of the single ladies are from the East. They have all gotten to their marriageable ages. Most of them complained that their dates have no money for traditional rights. What is their definition of NO MONEY? When will they have enough money? Everything is just Money! Money!! And Money!!! And parents back home are waiting to cut off the heads of their would be in-laws. The love of money is the root of all evil! Every society has their own peculiarity. We all have our own peculiar problem and this we have to deal with! |
The day Nigeria will start recognising state of resident instead of state of origin, then, and until then Lagos State will continue to be at the bottom in this chart. Is this the Anambra that I know or? Well done Osun, Oyo and Ogun |
I don't like being pessimistic, but sometimes I get scared whenever I analyse the problems of Nigeria that I've always thought, "Has The Country Gotten To The Point OF No Return?" |
With the height, fever, excitement and drama that encapsulated yesterday's match between R.Madrid Vs PSG got me thinking. I don't watch soccer just for the sake of getting excited or whiling away my time. For instance, when Chelsea won the Champions League at Bayern Munich's backyard I learnt so much aside the intrigues. I learnt determination, never to write any man off cause you don't know tomorrow, and that you can succeed against all odds. But I have decided to pen down this because of what I learnt yesterday. Now, I decided to narrow it down to our local politics and the cries emanating from different quarters bordering on age brackets in politics especially regarding the highest political offices. With the arrays of talents PSG paraded yet they were humbled by the old and much experienced R.Madrid. Then, the Fundamental questions are: (1)Does age really matter when it comes to politics? Since we have the oldest president, PMB that is underperforming, and the youngest governor, Yahaya Bello that thinks anticlockwise. (2)Can a young inexperienced man/woman lead this complex nation plagued with tribalism, nepotism, corruption and morally bankrupt value system? (3)Should we jettison "age-limit" and just make it open for all? (4)Can our young leaders compete economically with the already established "old-cargos" when it is crystal clear that economic and political power are siamese twins? (5)Should there be legislative bills, like "Affirmative Action" for proper youth representation? (6)Does youthfulness equates intelligence and does old age or grey hair equates wisdom? (7)Obama was a youth when he was the President of the United States. But he didn't just jump from nowhere and assumed the presidency. He was a senator and that was a healthy platform. But in Nigeria, where can an average youth starts from? Where I come from even 50million naira is not enough to campaign for a local government office. You have to settle, and settle, and even settle so many ancestors, Sangos, obatalas, orishas, amadiohas before they will even listen to you. YOUR SINCERE OPINION AND MATURE CONTRIBUTIONS AND ADVICE ARE NEEDED PLEASE! |
most of the younger ladies(not all) I dated were really thorns on my flesh. The matured ones are just too nice. The one I have now treats me like a king that I am. Age is also a factor when it comes to home, relationship and marital wisdom... |
I asked a lady out in church. As at that time I knew that like three other guys were asking her out. Instead of she to tell me say she no want, simple! But she chose to use the wrong words, "You are not in the picture." I cried inside ooo. In fact, I cried out then. And I loved her then like life itself. I knew that those guys didn't love her cause they all had serious dates. I was just begging for one. Now, all the guys had gotten married, not to her, except one that had left the church. Nevertheless I still kept her as a friend. Now we are so closer than five and six and she is dying that I talk to her again. She don show me green light tire. For where! I no gree. You know why? Because she had pushed me out, and I have gone wild in terms of my choice of woman. She even get scared with the kind of babes that come my way. My dear, indeed, The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born. Chill! I am getting marries this year to one of the damsels. No kill yourself because of a woman!!! |
ycat:Yes brother, we need to start seeing each other as brothers. If religion does not bind us together as brothers at least humanity does. It is crystal clear that we'll all give account to our Father whatsoever we've done so far. Words are seeds and words are swords. Our words can divide, kill and destroy. You don't need to stab someone to kill, one's word is capable of doing much harm like AK47. We might say something and think it's just a mere word. No! No word is a mere word. Once it is planted in the heart of your neighbour, you'll definitely reap it now based on reaction or in the nearest future based on relationship. |
ycat:This is the hardest sentence to make: I am sorry. And this is the most common sentence that humans have used for centuries to deceive each other: I Love You. I have been on Nairaland for years now and I have never criticized any ethnic nationality. My both parents are Igbos. Seriously, I have gotten education and I truly know its essence. As long as we didn't create ourselves. As long as we didn't choose our ethnic groupings-- we just found ourselves in a divide. As long as when an Igbo man dies he will not be buried in the air but in the ground like other people. If a Yoruba man is involved in a plane crash that kills all, he won't be exempted because he's a Yoruba man. He would definitely perish alongside the other nationals. To me, there is nothing special about being a Yoruba man or being an Igbo man, because both grow old, live, and perish. I see life entirely differently. There are things that we don't have power over. If so, then lets stop acting like God seek our opinion before putting us in that family or tribe. For instance, two years ago I saw an Hausa young man at Iyanoba, Lagos, carrying over ten big watermelons. It was so heavy that I almost wept when I saw the way he was even struggling to take a step. Immediately I started wondering, and started asking myself, if God had created me in the family of a Fulani herder what would have become of me? If I had not seen myself in a community that places high value on education what would I have done? I could have been the one carrying these watermelons. There is nothing special about me except that I have Christ in me. I have seen great people with titles and with academic excellence dying like chickens. They fall sick, bedridden, and die yet with all the qualifications. That is why I still wonder why people take irrelevant issues serious--- Like arguing which tribe is more beautiful. Which tribe eats good food more. Which tribe is more resourceful or industrious. These only whip up sentiment, ego and superiority complex. So, from the bottom of my heart I love Yorubas. I love them with their faults and I love my own people with their faults too. I have Igbo friends that had disappointed me but it never made me say all Igbos are a disappointment. I have Yoruba friends that had also done same. But I don't see it as a Yoruba problem but as human problem because it is common. |
Alariwo2:Don't generalize and mix up issues. Like a commentator said, this problem has a root. Whatsoever you are saying might be untrue or true, but the fact still remains--- your point is just a single branch of a whole tree. These BigTwo are to blame for anything bad that happens to the entire Southern Nigeria. And any treatment we've received from the North so far is simply because these BigTwo have decided to fold their hands helplessly when they are relating with the North but stretching out their hands to throw punches while relating with each other. |
Alariwo2:What is it that you don't understand? I was asking how we can work together better, and not who is better. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. But a good heart focuses more on the people's strength and less on their weaknesses. |
STAMOS:Just as it was so unrealistic for a black man to rule America. Just like it was initially unrealistic for a woman to become a German Chancellor. My dear, just like it took one accident or event to change the way the East and West view each other, so it will also take only ONE EVENT to change everything back to normal. And when it happens, both sides will be left with no other option but to embrace. And that big EVENT is coming... soon |
ycat:Envying keh! I don't have that evil seed of envy. Simply put: I love the Yorubas even with their faults and I as well love my people even with their attitudes. I just wish that a day will come when it will be so glaring to everyone in this part of the world that we can not do without each other. |

Your end is coming thief. Fraudster!! |
How I wish this platform has a way of checking people's IQ before getting them registered... |
oooduancalmdown:WETIN DEY SHOCK YOU? NA NUCLEAR BOMB? I JUST DEY WONDER HOW YOUR OLD AGE GO LOOK LIKE. LOL... ORIGINAL TROUBLE MAKER. AHAHAHAHA. BRO. WE ROCK TOGETHER TILL INFINITY |
oooduancalmdown:Your problem is just superiority complex, but I Know so well that as a human the whole of you only constitute half a bucket of dust. I made it clear the both groups copy from each other. Listen bro, there is something you don't really understand about life. First, you didn't create yourself. Second, you didn't choose any tribe, you just found yourself in one ethnic line the moment you started reasoning. But then, why are you taking trivial things too personal and serious? Mehn! God help our youths. Just counter my points with a superior argument or points and stop resorting to insults. |
4kDdullard:SERIOUSLY MY BROTHER THE PROBLEM IS JUST POLITICAL. BUT IF WE CAN BREAK THE FENCES OF SOCIAL, ENTERTAINMENT, CULTURAL, LITERATURE AND MARITAL WHY CAN'T WE DO SAME IN POLITICS? |
ChidiAlaigbo:I see them everyday. They rock together... I don't actually care who started it first or who does it more. All I know is that both of them are rocking it together wella in this regard |
oooduancalmdown:Can't you guys just buttress your points without insulting and throwing jabs and curses for goodness sakes? |
How far has the competition taken them to? Competition is good but in the political platform they compete with each other in the wrong way. In fact, why is there no trust specifically in politics but there is trust in business and marriage and entertainment? |
