PoliticsTagbero The Cancer Of Lagos by Neatboy(op): 1:55pm On Nov 24, 2020
I took a bus from Mile 2 to Agbara-Badagry and we had so many stops not really because of the potholes or alighting passengers but because of"AGBEROS" or "Legal Road Urchins." They are legal because they have the approval of Local and State Government; traditional rulers, the police and most importantly the NURTW-- National Union Of Road Transport Workers.

"OWOMI DA!"
Just as the driver decided to maneuver one of these Agberos jumped to the front of the bus and shouted "Owo mi da!" Meaning where is my money? seriously I was angry and very much concerned. This haggard looking young man was just ready to cause havoc or wreck the bus if not given some money. Whenever I see them I really get concerned about tomorrow. These are great destinies getting destroyed by a system set by their revered leaders. These are young men in their prime wasting away! Almost all are addicted to drugs or taking substances. In fact, it is like you are not qualified for the job if you don't abuse drugs. And anyone who doesn't have scar(s) or broken teeth and body odour is either starting the job newly or he is at the top of the food chain.

The truth is that these guys can not give proper account of the money being collected on the road and Lagos State can never be a megacity with agberos and urchins at the epicenter! Take a look at what happened during the EndSars protest-- the agberos or street urchins highjacked it! With these mindsets around I am not even sure that we can ever have proper election in Lagos because they are the willing tools used by politicians to cause mayhem. This is exactly how everything good will keep getting messed up as long as these guys are still on Lagos roads. They collect money from bus drivers, truck drivers, bike drivers, cart pushers, street peddlers, etc! The only place you can't find them is in the airport-- cause they are no friends with civility. Now listen, I am not against them collecting tolls or money from one bus stop to another but my fundamental questions are:

(1)They have been collecting this money for over twenty years now then who are they giving account to?

(2)Which administration legalized this agberos? Was it Jakande, Marwa, Tinubu or Fashola?

(3)What is Lagos State's long or short term plans for these young men? Will they just allow these souls waste away?

(4)Why can't this money be channeled towards developing their minds like organizing workshops, seminars, taking them overseas for study etc?

(5)Did we have them in Lagos' roads in the 60s and 70s?

(6)If it is to some extent solving unemployment problem then why can't the Lagos State Government reorganize it and properly educate them?

(7)Are these agberos doomed or destined for destruction because it is only one out of hundred that might become a better person after going through such a nefarious system.

(coolWho should we hold responsible for this system?

(9)Will agberoism ever come to an end? Can Lagos roads ever be free from the firm grip of agberos?

PoliticsRe: Imagine If EUROPE Was NIGERIA, It Would Have Disintegrated by Neatboy(m): 6:15pm On Jun 24, 2020
Please, this is front page worthy. Unforgiveness hinders progress. Bitterness kills faster than even the worst disease.

After the First World War it was like the winner takes it all-- sharing of spoils. Hitler also participated in that war. Lands were take away from them. He saw what took place in Europe after his country lost so he vowed that when he becomes the leader that he would reclaim what Germany lost. He grew up to power with that hate. He was a nationalist that is why some Germans initially supported him. But he allowed his hate to take the whole of him.

Nobody wants to remain conquered people forever! This is exactly what is happening in Nigeria-- the winner takes it all mentality! Europe learnt its lesson after the Second World War. If Nigeria is not careful what happened in Europe will repeat itself here. You can't be holding somebody down for long in this modern time. Even empires grow and fall, and Nigeria government or system won't be exceptional if the major players do not come together to settle issues. Now that the Europeans had learnt their lessons they allow even the smallest of nation states to decide their own faith. Nigeria is still operating with the manual of the Civil War... The major reason Europe is experience peace is because even the smallest tribe have right for self-determination if they can fend for themselves amongst the committee of nations.

Since the Yoruba and Igbo nations have joined the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization why can't the People of Niger Delta do same? Even when the talks of regional security came up the South South region was just mute. Why?
Don't they have a voice?
Aren't they united?
Can the South South really form or stand as a nation?
Are they waiting for the South East?
Did the South East include the Niger Delta as part of the indigenous people?
Will the place called "Niger Delta" ceases to be called Niger Delta if or when Nigeria disintegrates?

PoliticsI Am Really Struggling To Wish This Government Well by Neatboy(op): 2:27pm On Mar 25, 2020
I am seriously struggling not to wish Buhari and this administration death in this Covid-19 crisis because it's against my belief. I am really struggling.
And it shall never be well with any man that still believes that this useless and demonic administration is not incompetent!
May the judgement of God fall upon any man or woman that still pretend that Buhari's government is the best thing that has ever happened to us!
I have never been this angry before! In fact, I have never spoken bad or ill concerning this administration since its inception, despite the fact that I was amongst the lonely voices crying against it in 2015.
When I heard of the over 70 soldiers killed recently in an ambush I wept! Which country in this modern time will lose such a number just in one blow!? And this isn't the first time! Why are these evil men playing politics with people's lives!? The Nigeria Army is at a low ebb! It is at its worst state ever! The Army that was once the pride of the nation has become an object of mockery under this government. The Army has become a center for corruption under this government! So sectional and tribalistic under Buhari's uselessness! The indiscipline in the Nigeria Army is at its very peak now! Right before our own eyes the Nigeria Army has become the Fulani Army infiltrated by Boko Haram. One can not go and report any Fulani herdsmen again that invade his farm and kill his people to the police or army anymore because they waste no time in taking side! And the truth is that they are not anywhere near winning the battle against terrorism up north!
At the watch of this demonic government Nigeria has become the home of two more deadly terror groups: ISWAP and Fulani-Herdsmen. Under the watch of this evil demoniacs Nigeria has become the world capital for poverty!
The truth is that even Yar adua's administration was never this sectional and tribal! There was nothing like pro-North or anti-South then. This government is just so good at putting round pegs in square holes! Sincerely, I am struggling not to wish Buhari death. I have never been a supporter of Biafra or Nnamdi Kanu. In fact, I hate his approach, but daily now, I kept finding reasons why he has been unperturbed in his movement and for the disintegration of this country. Let us stop lying to ourselves! This country is not working! If Pastor Christ, pastor Oyedepo, Pa Adeboye and the prayers of other great ministers of God from this soil can not salvage this country, then, can your prayer actually cause any change? We just need to sit down and tell each other the truth. We can not be trying one thing always and be expecting different results. Just few days ago the entire country was shouting and asking the Federal Government to shut down our international entry points at least but to no avail! Now they want people to close their shops and business places but what provisions have they made for the common man!? Have you gone to the markets or the streets and see for yourself how much the common man spend just to feed and survive to the next day? The insensitivity of this government really nauseates me!
The only prayer I will prayer is that: may the judgement of the Almighty God fall upon every leader, past or present who has a hand in bringing this great nation to this level. If GEJ's administration could curtail Ebola we actually expected this administration to do better. Ebola was deadlier than Covid-19, yet its effects were managed. I am yet to grasp or comprehend the precision and the determination with which Ebola was fought to its knees by the last administration despite its level of incompetencies. But this government is worst! This government does not have value for the life of the common man and I don't really care if this virus starts from the top.
PoliticsRe: Abaribe’s Armed Forces Bill: Ohanaeze Rejects It. Warns NASS On Implications by Neatboy(m): 1:45pm On Mar 16, 2020
valentineuwakwe:
Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC), the apex Igbo socio-cultural youth body, has described the newly introduced Armed Forces Bill in the National Assembly as an invitation of coup d’etat against civilian Presidents.

The Igbo group cautioned members of the National Assembly on the implications of the proposed Armed Forces Bill by the Senate if passed into law.

Ohanaeze Youth opined that the bill, if allowed to stand, would truncat Nigeria democracy as the contents of the proposed legislation seeks to wrest the sacred Powers and authority conferred on the President and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces by 1999 Constitution Section 217 and 218 for the Composition, Appointment and termination of service Chiefs of Armed Forces of Nigeria by vesting it in a Commission which can be Manipulative in on a rogue collaboration with enemies of Democracy to Overthrow a Civilian President.

DAILY POST learnt that the Armed Forces Bill sponsored by Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe, seeks to address presumed lopsided appointment of heads of Security Agencies in the Country,

However, a statement forwarded to DAILY POST on Sunday by the President General(OYC), Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Secretary-General, Okwu Nnabuike, queried why such sensitive bill empowers a commission to recommend to the President whoever they feel is qualified for appointment as Service Chief and Head of Security agencies in Nigeria without Mr President’s input if it’s not for sinister motives and nefarious activities of the sponsors.

The group further added in the release, “OYC condemns vehemently such Armed Forces Bill, as it is an abuse of legislative powers, traduces military Tradition. Political Musketeers will arm-twist unlawfully a sitting Civilian President if Senate passes it into law. Such powers to make appointment of Service Chiefs will be bestowed on non-elective persons, who might use it for anti-democratic motives to hold the Presidency at ransom against the collective interests of Nigerians.

“OYC wants the National Assembly to know that the Igbos are not in support of any action that might jeopardize the Presidential System of Government which Igbos stand to benefit in 2023. We disassociate ourselves from the proposed Armed Forces Bill and urge the National Assembly that such reckless bill would not be supported by the Igbos as it is dead on arrival”.

Please just tell me. What is the difference between this bill and the Federal Character Principle that gives leverages and upper hand to the North vis a vis other regions or tribes? If you think the bill is unhealthy and it will breed incompetencies and favouritism over meritocracy then tell me if the Federal Character is not doing same? If the Northerners have not found anything wrong with the Federal Character then why should these boys from the East find anything wrong with this bill? Or are they trying to paint Ohaneze blue and give it a nationalistic colouration?

Person wey hate you done hate you, there is nothing you can do about it.

PoliticsRe: The Cruel Lie Told Against The Igbos by Neatboy(m):
Strong words! Seriously Igbos are more united even than the Northerners or Westerners. It is just their independent and liberal nature that make it looks like they are always fighting themselves. In some cases it is just mere political difference that are also common with other people.

Show me one Igbo man that fights his brother and I will show you five northerners that have killed their brothers. And I will show you two from other tribes.

I leave in Lagos, and I am yet to see any other tribes that organizes village meetings or kindred meetings more than they do. their family bond I believe is stronger than that of other tribes.

The truth is that so many unholy things are happening in the Church that the leadership are ignorant of. The Church should be growing spiritually, morally, financially and in number all at the same time. If only one aspect is growing there definitely will be issues. The Church is the salt of the world, and not just its saltiness or sourness, but if the salt lose its nutritional values it will no longer serve its proper purposes.

Church leaders need to create balance and do the needful. This issue of Church springing up up and down will be minimized if the bigger denominations will properly take care of their ministers like the Catholic and Anglican Churches. I was a Catholic and I know how much the priests are being taken care of, but the greed and selfishness of many G.Os are nothing to write home about.

Yes o! Anyhow you put it. Everything is possible to the man that believes. Buhari was the first person that won an incumbent president in Nigeria. But before then, people like you had shouted "IT'S IMPOSSIBLE! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!" To the high heavens until it finally happened. When Obama was vying for the President of the United States your likes also shouted "IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!" Finally it happened. It's only a shallow minded man that thinks that some things are impossible. Even if some things are impossible with men, definitely with God all things are possible!
