4reala:Abi oh. |
People should free her jare. She has a right to vote for whoever. |
OboOlora:You said it all. |
SmartyPants:Yes, I understand how it works. Previously it was 50k, guess it has been raised to 5m. My argument is that the present arrangement has to be challenged. NDIC and cbn should face the burden and not innocent depositors placing their money in a bank given a license by cbn, also supervised by cbn. Inocent depositors do not have supervisory or regulatory roles to know if the banks are going astray, it is the cbn. Depositors are not share holders of banks that should share loses or have delays to getting their full deposits, they deposit money based on assurances by the cbn. Once cbn removes license of a bank, it should refund all monies immediately to the depositors, immediately. Then sort out issues with NDIC to recover its money. |
SmartyPants:In that case it is to hammer cbn with a class action suit in billions. That rubbish of cbn saying NDIC is responsible for settlement of your money and then limited to 5m should be challenged. If the cbn licenses a bank, then enables them take deposit from customers under the supervisory role, the regulatory role of the cbn, the same cbn then withdraws the license stating the bank is not doing well, then the cbn ought to immediately payout the deposits to depositors, then recover its monies through the NDIC liquidating the assets of the bank. Simple! The cbn cannot place the burden and inconvenience of the loss on innocent customers! If I were a lawyer I will take this up as a class action suit, gather he customers, negotiate 40% of any judgement and then handle the case on a no win no fee basis. Lawyers have done this abroad and become billionaires, some lawyer won a class action suit of over $200b against cigarette companies in the US. Ned nwoko did the same and won money for Nigerian states and local governments from imf etc. |
crossfm:If we had our own national carrier, this wount happen to us naa.. Of course we know and they know Nigerians can never run a national airline and so we are like the begger claiming right. Omo, we have no right! What if all the airlines decide to sanction us? Abi did Emirates not do it? Recently the minister gleefully announced the return of Emirates as an achievement. No be juju be dat? I this case, what can be done to air france? You talk too much, they waka, making things difficult for Nigerian travellers or even their president will call oga at the top to call his minister to order. Don't forget he has lots of investments in France. |
garykoeman:You mean this man in the pic swallowed all this drugs and did not expect to be caught? How ? Lolz, his belle would have been protruding like a pregnant woman. ![]() |
Watinhapen:In fairness to the UK, they asked you provide proof of funds to show you can pay school fees and maintain yourself in the UK before comming over. The limited work time allowed is just to be complimentary and not a focus of funding. But alas, we know the main intention of majority of Nigerians going to UK for schooling is to use that as a japa route, hoping to rough the schooling and get a job after that to keep them and their family there, especially the kids. So when you say there are cheaper places to do masters, note those places are not where the wish to "japa" to. Most proof of funds we know is arranged, they cannot really afford the schooling, when you then join it with the devastating effects of tinubus devaluation of the naira, even those that had property to sell here for the money to be sent to them, have seen those property now worthless. 2022 August, I bought 4k pounds at 560 naira to 1 pound. 460 naira to $1. Ie 1m gave roughly £2k. Today 1m will give you a little over £500! No be juju be dat? |
Is this the solution? Inconveniencing innocent citizens when the criminals have gone to the bush?. The army should rather wait for the next so called seat at home and lay ambush for the criminal unknown gun men enforcers, then eliminate everyone of them leaving one to take them to their base for total eradication of the vermin. |
On the radio this evening, I heard a basket of tomatoes is now 150k! |
Whalis:Exactly. |
CeeCeeWigs:OK Ohh.. |
idahme:Thanks bro.. |
idahme:Oga, you are an experienced man that has said it all. My paddy, when he saw thing were going south, sold his suv, sold his shop, processed passport and US visa for his family and got it. He let his wife and first daughter go first. Sometime later the wife came and carried the remaining 2 kids. My guy stayed trying to run some new business his friend started, which flopped. Before you know, 2 years visa had expired. That was how this guy was stuck without his family. Meanwhile wife could not visit naija as she over stayed her visa. Few years later, story goes that her people allegedly came to serve him divorce papers. They were still in the process when failing health came in. This guy was all alone, no money, nothing. He called once or twice and I sent what I could. Actually I did not know it was that serious, not until I got the call he passed. He died all alone without his wife and kids. They could not even come for the burial. Man Joe. (1969-2023) Rest in peace.. |
Seems these apc folks are all guy men. They just open mouth and blab. Anyway I don't blame them as they know their supporters are block headed zombies, aka mumu men. How will this man just get up and say this? |
vibratingpenis:I my opinion way better. I went to ui in the early 90s, if it was how it was then ie still relatively good, but falling apart, I wonder what it will be like now. I do not know about the standards of teaching. But I assume it is still high. Anyway, accommodation wise, I don't think there is comparison. My pikin stays in a 4 person a room hostel. Each room with toilet and bath, each student with a private corner, table, locker, stand alone bed. Not perfect by just ok. Feeding wise, you pay for 2-3 meals daily, they are issued meal tickets to go get their food. Students cannot leave the school premises without email confirmation from the parents. I can login and view the academic progress of my wards. Teaching wise, no story like buying handouts or lecturers intimidating kids to offer money or sexual favors etc. A session is a session, nothing like strikes. In 1 year time span, a new student is already in 200level. You do not hear of vices like cultizm, neither have drug issues, where it come in, such students are kicked out immediately! Nothing like truancy, no matter your background, no student is allowed to have vehicles in school, you all trek together, or enter campus transport, not the shenanigans you see in public schools. All students must attend religious activities, which carries points as well good behavior. When they complain of certain things, I tell them they don't know how good they have it. Eg, just imagine those days in teddar, indy etc halls where there was no running water, besides the sewage pipes were broken. People will pile shit on top shit, when it is full, they shit on the floor. Cleaners will come the next morning, use their raw hands to pack the poo, wash the place, meanwhile queue is outside waiting to destroy the place again. Private uni aren't perfect, but since some cannot send kids abroad now, better not so subject ajebo kids to the trauma of public schools. |
vibratingpenis:I went to ui. My kids are in private uni though. |
If you are a student, please take the loan in full, why, at the rate we are going, to pay back the loan after graduating will be like buying a loaf of bread due to inflation. Eg 2015 a guy sued a company for 40m. That 40m could buy 10 brand new tear rubber Toyota corolas at 4m each. 2024 he won the case, but his 40m cannot buy 1 brand new corola that now cost 67m. Abeg take the money. ![]() |
spartachico:So billionaire does not have sense to know if the foreigners with their foreign capital and with single digit interest rates financing from abroad cannot make it, he too cannot? Abi will the billionaire not face the same challenges eg power, diesel to run generators? Billionaire that will take loan from naija bank at 36% interest rate? Imagine comming to naija with eg $100m loan from texas, you are then servicing the loan with eg $100k monthly. You were buying dollar at 300 naira to $1 so using 30m naira to service the foreign loan from your sales. $1 now becomes 1500 naira, meaning you have to now use 150m to service the same loan monthly! Not just that, diesel that was 120 naira per liter becomes 1200,1600 per liter, electricity bill goes up to eg 200 per unit, all sorts of taxes and bills, from local gov to state, to federal, you expect business to work? Na juju? Why do you think domiciliary accounts are filled up with idle dollars Nigerians are not using? It pays that billionaire more to keep his money in hard currency than risk it in business that inflation, expenses renders all sales as losses. I say it, if you are in business in naija, you will realize no one is making money now, they are only struggling to stay afloat. Most are burning through their capital. Once that is exhausted, they will close shop, sack workers. |
Na rope them commission? ![]() |
Daniiel:Staff quarters no go charge this kind school fees ohh..
|
vibratingpenis:So you think. Some people just choose private uni instead if public schools simply because they cannot imagine their kids schooling under such conditions optainable in the public schools. They see private uni as alternative to the enormous cost of foreign uni especially with the exchange rate. No be say their kids no know book. Ie jamb rejects. Dont believe the tales as said by deprived people say rich man pikin no know book. Guy, na them sabi book pass. Go to babcock Iperu and try to get admission into law without scoring 280, 300 above and see how impossible it is. |
Oga, enter tasty fried chicken ie tfc. Buy their chicken with rice or spaghetti combo. It is ₦1400. I personally prefer the spaghetti if I am too tired to make breakfast. |

Na wah, when a king surrounds himself with such ass kissers, the people suffer. Thank God even him is embarrassed at them.
|
Franzinni:Lol, daddyshowkey was just yesterday naa, maybe blackie or to wound am, mention bands such as OFEGE. lol |
If you know this, you be old school ![]()

We weh de use 50kobo buy 1 bread, buy 1 moi moi, slam it inside the bread aka miomoi burger, then wash it down with a chilled bottle of coke. 50kobo in the bursary of teddar Hall uni ibadan in the early 90s. |
udemzyudex:Oga, it might not be lies. One easy way you can tell how good a country is fairing is by the model or age of vehicles you see on the roads. Someone that visited naija late last year after 9 years in the UK, said the vehicles on the roads looked like they were from a "mad max movie". Most are very late models. You see people buying 2003, 2010 cars and celebrating that they bought new cars. I understand on the streets of Ghana, the vehicles are much newer. Go on YouTube or face book and watch A1 diesel. See the kind of vehicles they fix, supposedly avarage mans cars in Ghana. |
Omo, to fight government na long thing. |
