PoliticsRe: Ending The Child Abuse Called Almajiri by NegroNtns(m): 7:08pm On Jul 12, 2011
"Al'majir" or "Almajiri" is an institution, a social one.

Philosophically, it is on the par of social welfare in Western countries. Its practice and operation however is not anywhere at par with them.

Its purpose in Islam is for both economic and cultural reasons.

I can explain further on the above statement if clarity is needed but let me go to topic.

The government need to come up with a robust social priogramme that centers on wealth redistribution for Nigerian citizens.

Such a programme will be a expensive launch but its benefits will pay off in the offsets gained through an elevated quality of living and social evolution.

That's good!

Now let's think about it. He is not the first Lagos State governor that beatified the state.
The problem is that as much as government try to improve and make life bearable for the citizens, the population is not suporting and helping the givernment in the upkeep and sustenance of the projects.

Pretty soon someone will go pee in those plants or tell his/her little baby to go stoop and defecate in the brushes.

There need to be a reaction when people witness stuffs like that. Not a confrontation but a humiliating verbal reminder to the offender for why such action is deplorable.

Apoti,

Going with that thinking offered by Gej, it gives a sneak peek into the mindset of our rulers. Each governor or president believing his regime is a personal government.

The government belong to the people. The people do not change every four years and neither is the society replaced every four years.

So there are aspects of the society that, for a wholesome sustenance, demand linkage and continuation through successive regimes.
How does he plan to implement a 20Yr vision, prpose and obtain a 20yr tenure?

President and governors should not over-commit. Promise what you can deliver within 4yrs tenure.
If it requires longer than 4yrs to implement, then it should be a pass-on to next regime.

We don't need to change constittion to accomodate tenure change. What we have is fine we just need to change mindset.

The constitution puts a pressure on the government and this for good reason. To make the three arms of government work together in finding solutions to social problems.

By amending the constitution, they are lifting the pressure off and not solving the problems.

Sad and misunderstanding of the dynamics of government and a constitutional power.

Very good vision!!

On Mass Transit, rail system is a far more commitmeNt mooney and timewise when compared to waterways transportation like ferries.

For South and South East, are there existing and functional waterways mass transit system managed by the authorities?
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Proposes 7-year Single Term by NegroNtns(m): 5:54pm On Jul 12, 2011
I agree with Dr Egbosiuba's argument.

I see a pattern where each political regime wants to introduce amendments to the cnstitution.
That should be discouraged and I wonder what provisions exist in the constituion itself on an amendment ratification and if that's be adhered to by the executive and the assembly.

Eze,

This is serious matter for me.

You have seen me in the past two weeks or so continously hammer and hamper Igbo discussions in different forums. There is reason for it. I begged them for almost a whole year to lay off attacking Yoruba politics but none listened.

I'm usually in foreign affairs and hardly in this section or ethnice. So I'm on attack myself and if you are Igbo, which I doubt in these days of multidimensional identities, you will listen to my rants. I guarantee you! Fool!!

Okoro, drop that bS, it happened, wake up to it and grab your machette!

Ndigbo you see how divided you are?

Instead of responding collectively as a people and calling it an Igboland problem, you begin separating yourself into Anambra, Enugu, Anioma, Awka, Umuahia.

When it happened in Ekiti you didn't hear Yoruba say shame on Ekiti. We rallied our voices around Ekiti and spoke with one voice, the Yoruba voice! The Oyo man did not say if this had been Ibadan, the Lagos man did not say if this had been in Agege, nobody said if this had been in Shagamu.

We might be cowards but we are at least united in our cowardice.

Your cowardice is on display for the world to see now. A repeated kill and rape in the heartland of Igboland. You are divided in your cowardice.

Not to mention a r a p e is a far worse offense on the psychology of the tribe than a murder, and yet you are impotent and paralysed to act.

Listen to how sordid some of your excuses sound:

"It was a surprise attack"

ProudIgbo, muderers and rap_ists don't wait to be invited, they drop in! , and this wasn their first time doing this to that town.

"We didn't attack for consideration of counter reprisals and lives of Igbos in the North"

Abagoro, teach that value to your fellow Igbos that sometimes a silence in the face of an enemy harassment does not mean cowardice, it is necessary sometimes to swallow hurt and humiliation in consideration for much bigger gains elsewhere.

"We are planning and they will hear us soon".

Once they run into police or army cover, forget it. You have to wait for another opportunity from which you can avenge this humiliation.

To namfav, shame on you! They say fulani killed and raped women and you responded with a defense that they don't rape. Shame on you! So killing is okay? Why do fulanis run for cover if you are as brave as you claim? Why not wait and face the people if you are that much sure in your prowess to dominate?

But wen it hapend n Ekiti, u guys(igbos) tnk the Ekitis and Yorubas suld imediatly cary their cutlases and guns and stat masacrng the fulanis

They said the problem was recurrent in Ekiti if I remember correctly. That means the Fulanis remained behind in the community and didn't run.

That is different

Fool! The Imo situation is a repeat. The fulanis have done this there before.

In Ekiti, there was no women raped. That's a great disgrace to a community. When a foreigner enter your community kill your people and then lay your women on their back and forcefully take them against their will. He's shoowing you he dominates over your a s s. He's daring you to try something if you can. This is not first time they did this in Imo.

The Ekiti youths went after the fulanis but they ran to police for cover.
Without the police cover they all would have been killed.

So yes you are d_amn right "its different"!

Tpia,

Yes, I do if the target group is distinct enough in its history, arts, culture, customs that such exclusions in leads do not impact the tracking.

Chinenye,

In politics its good to border on controversy. I want you to vote for me when I seek office in Yorubaland.

Ilorin people block them for border, let the malu pass down but block the blood thristy murderers.

CrimeRe: Herdsmen Kill 2, Rape Women In Imo by NegroNtns(m): 4:33am On Jul 12, 2011
Ah, I see!!

When this happened in Ekiti, there was no r a p e it was just fighting and robbery, no killing. The yoruba youths in that town went after the fulanis but they knew before hand what would happen to their a s s and sought protection from the northerner polioce commissioner.

The youths were warned against disturbing peace. That was niothing but fighting and robbery.

Igbo did not let loose, they came on line and talked bad and harrassed yorubas here and called s all kind names

Fast forward to now.

Fulani killed your ppl, r a p e your women. . . Fulani put in blokos and pour in seed for igbo t o t o,

And all you do is protest on the road. Wetin u dey look for on tyhe road?

Na lie, wetin una go do? In an explosion everyone is in state of panic, perppetrator, if still alive, has merged into panicked crowd and dissapeared.

Only retaliation is to take battle to Boko base but if government knew where it is they would already be wiped out.

Please don't touch innocent Hausas unless they in fact show support for the carnage.
