I'm suspecting that Zambeef was using the cpompany as front for some other shady deals that violate terms of contract.

To the person asking if Governor has right to kick a company out of state.

In some situations, yes, the executive office of the state government is responsible for total safety and protection of public interests.

On land matters in the West, the state has 100% uncontested right to oversee land use. Land belong to the people but state is the overseer.

PoliticsRe: Why Is There A Lack In Philosophical Thoughts In Nigeria And Africa? by NegroNtns(m): 11:13pm On Jul 08, 2011
Mr Why,

Thanks for understanding the humor.

Let's trail the origin of the metaphorical "alcohol".

Babylon invaded other lands and established its teachings and culture within their society. They in turn became the medium through which the babylonian philosophy is spread to other far lands. In addition to the invasion, it also immigrated freigners into its own land and converted them into its beliefs and philosophies.

Egypt, Phoenicia, Mesopotamia, Greek, Rome, United Kingdom, USA. Every one of these imperial powers repeated the Babylonian model.

Why do they take their philosophy out and sold it to foreign cultures?

Simple! A philosophy is useless to itself. In isolation and narrow capacity the philosophy does not receive wide application. Philosophy is a people's messenger.

A messenger is persecuted and not appreciated amongst his own people, he must travel out and exist in foreing land and amongst appreciative strangers who in turn become custodians and adherents of the new teaching.

So in order to push African philosophy, we must learn first the skill of selling. So that we can sell our messenger to the white man and he will become drunk in the message in his hands and start spreading.

I'm philosophical in my outlook.

Outside of an apology to Biafra, which I do not subscribe to, I do support and believe that West and North owe it as the proper call to humanity to help healing of the Igbo spirit.

I say this because we are all humans first and we all shall be humans last.

We arrive in life innocent and devoid of self identity and we depart life succumbing to the struggles of mankind , irrelevant of identity.

So the surrender of Biafra and its casualties of war is a libel for its atrocities arising from the coup and as well its arrogance leading to the war.

God forbid but if a tsunami happens in East the rest of us will not sit back and say oh, that's Igboland they deserve it.

Our human conscience will instantly start wondering - oh, hope the children are okay, hope the women and the elderly are okay, hope the men are okay,, . . . This is how human tribes relate to each other's tragedies and rescue.

So, it is evident from observing Igbos to know that their psyche is still not healed and they are very much as unsure as we are of what's to happen to Nigeria.

While Yoruba has never lost touch with its will and the determination of what to do, Igbo on the other hand will find it very hard to jump behind another leader calling for a separation, peacefully or otherwise.

The pain of rescuing Igbo is that he is not satisfied being a tenant. For this reason others are skeptical and not interested in coming to the rescue.

Igbos have a lot of psychological pain to heal. They cannot heal their own, we must aid their healing, from a distance.

Its a partnership! The Igbo must also be willing and trusting to submit to the therapeutic care through which a new meaning in relations and cohabitation can emerge.

How did Nigeria make the declaration of war?
PoliticsRe: Should Ojukwu Apologise For The Civil War? by NegroNtns(m): 9:25pm On Jul 08, 2011
Red, In a case where Igbos demand apology from Nigeria, yes you will be right there.

However, this is like asking Hitler to apologize for leading Germany into war.

Tpia,

If you go back in Yoruba history and review the different accounts of what Oyo did, there is no reason why any Yoruba child should not be proud of the land and the bravery of our ancestors.

There are three Yorubas

Ooh, let me stop! This about Ojukwu apologising to his people and not the moment to analyse and brag the pride of successful and functional treaties of protection and cohabitation between the Yoruba major and the Yoruba minor.

I am interested in making Igbo children a new culture, a proto-Yoruba minor that exist and breed on our land.

PoliticsRe: Why Jonathan Would Be A Failure by NegroNtns(m): 7:53pm On Jul 08, 2011
I think its disrespectful and too harsh to throw this at the President.

In terms of his getting grip on the affairs, I agree he lacks clue of where to begin or what to do.

He is depending on his ministers and aides to point and shepherd the regime's directioin and decisions.

Gej was VP for four years, and President for few last months of the last regime.

Adequate time in the executive wing to develop some competency in leading.

He should be the shepherd and not the sheep!

PoliticsRe: Should Ojukwu Apologise For The Civil War? by NegroNtns(m): 7:32pm On Jul 08, 2011
We cannot reason along the thoughts of Ojukwu or do a research paper on him.

There is a flaw in Igbo gene generally, period!

As an ethnic group, it is more common and prevalent for Igbo consciousness to see things in far more magnitude of what it truly is and then to attach their ego and bet their future to the inflated value of the object.

They put the cart before the horse, they count chickens before the eggs has matured enough to hatch, they act on impulse first and make assessments later. This explains for their repeated failures to become a majestic culture in society.

They do this with their ancestral roots, their history, their culture, society, prosperity, conflicts, war, academic, administration, and so on.

That's their downfall, they refusal to take stock of true worth before making undeliverable commitments.
PoliticsRe: Should Ojukwu Apologise For The Civil War? by NegroNtns(m): 6:53pm On Jul 08, 2011
Can you people let sleeping dogs lie?

Eze, too late! I'm on it.

Tpia, what gave the peoiple the impression that there was truth in his deception?

There is this thing called "circle of influence"

Leaders of a society are like commodities. People invest in them.

Naturally the society reject being told what to do or being coralled into specific models of behavior and lifestyle.

Leaders must cultivate and have the image and persona and message to get the people to listen and "buy-in" to his message. He is selling credibility. Overtime, if his messages match results and outcomes in their practical sorroundings he will appear credible and earn their trust and obliged response when called to act.

The people have abandoned their own self will and gave him a mandate to do what he wants with their society and communal interest. They are not reasoning but following in faith that he has their best interest at heart and will protect and safeguard it. They respond with patriotism.

So when Ojukwu said, not in one radio broadcast, but several to his people repeatedly demonising Nigeria and upholding the glory of the "land of the rising sun", he started mixing with propaganda with facts on ground. He appealed to their spirit. They believed in his credibility. They trusted in him. They were long past a stage in their formulation to question the true state of things. He was so convinced in his Oxford education and elitist ego that he began to even dismiss his peers and officers in the Army as unworthy of his time.

To you now Gen Buhari, did not Gowon exercise a lot of restraints and even used last minute efforts, in jeopardy of his own job and life to the frustration in North, to appeal to Ojukwu to sit down for more rounds of talk with Adebayo and Katsina?

Did ojukwu accept? He saw Gowon, a recruit with secondary level education, beneath his position as a commissioned officer with Oxford education.

Ego and pride lead to ruins.
PoliticsRe: Eleni Gabre-madhin Vs. Okonjo Iweala by NegroNtns(m): 6:29pm On Jul 08, 2011
Paul Krugman is not a person of reference cos we are talking about Iwelas who have got their PhDs

In America, you don't need a Msc or PhD for social recognition or public service.

Their people are eduvated facing forward and so emphasis is put on application and social service.

Nigerians are educated facing backward. We put emphasis on credentials, even when the person has no practical skills or track record for social changes.

We put emphasis also on institutions, rather than human capability.

WBank is a predatory institution. Many third world countries have had their otherwise stable economy destroyed by the financial instruments of WBank.

So its not clear if, given our history with WB and their contributions to the destruction of our economy and currency, we really ought to endorse that institution as a great friend to our interest, though we are proud of the individual accomplishments of the Nigerians that worked in it.

We remember SAP - structural adjustment programme. That was a WB instrument forced upon our country using backchannells to bribe and coerce our leaders into the agreement.

So let's be proud of Mrs Iweala as an individual but I will exercise caution in doing same for Wbank or its principles and goal for Nihgeria and Africa generally.

ZnO

Maret women riot occurred all over Nigeria. Shut up about market women riot. That is communal action.

Give me an IGbo woman that has ever transformed your society, A transforming individual.

Kuti, Tinubu and Kofo Abayomi were transformers. They single handedly at individual capacity, not communal action, impacted political and social changes.

Before Nigeria there was Queen Amina in Hausaland, there was Moremi in Yorubaland. Give me an Igbo woman of their parity in social leadership.

Mrs Iweala is the Greatest you ever had.

These other women I mentioned are not anywhere close to her accomplishments in contemporary terms but they were at the same scale of social relevance as she is now.

In future there will be many more women transformers and we look back to Iweala and she will be viewed in same light as Abayomi, Kuti and Tinubu appear to you now.

Ekt is talking about this young girl that's already appear to be at parity with Iweala in academic achievements. Once she is absorbed into social changes who knows how far she might end up going.

Remember when John Paul died and they were looking for successor? Olubunmi Okogie was a candidate for the papacy. Nigeria's proud moment, is it not?

Paul wolfowitz resigned as chairman of WB, Mrs Iweala was a candidate for the chair. Proud moment for Nigeria.

I like Mrs iweala and I rejoice with you Igbos for her accomplishments and her vision.

I can see why you worship her- first Igbo female transformer!

For those of us who are used to a long list of transformers worship is uncalled for.

So don't translate our cool response to her remarks as hatred.

She has great qualities but she is no goddess!
PoliticsRe: Should Ojukwu Apologise For The Civil War? by NegroNtns(m): 5:02pm On Jul 08, 2011
Of course he should, ojukwu owes Igbo men apology for deceiving them into thinking he was well equipped and had all the resources to fight the war and also leading them to believe that Igbos outnumber the enemy in force and population. Some die hard Biafrans are stuck in that lie and still believe till tioday that Biafra owns the land and all the people from their Eastern boundary with Cameroon all the way to Benin and down to Port Harcourt and all way up to Benue. They refuse to accept thta Ndigbo is a small number of clans covering a small area of Nigeria. Their attempt to grab other people land and culture and ancestral roots is causing resentment now.

In addition and most important Ojukwu need to apologize for putting innocent Igbo women and their innocent pikin directly into hostile and dangerous conditions and for unecessarily denying them access to food and water, causing millions to starve to death or die of disease. He also owe apology to them for causing their displacement from their homeland and forcing them into refugee conditions in foreign lands.

Ojukwu owe entire Igbo people apology for abandonment and neglect.
