ZnO, Think about my offer on Fashola and let me know your conclusions when you are done reviewing your notes on zoning regarding the SS President. Thanks, Signed, Negro. |
Matter of fact the reference is there that ndigbos called him their son, ebelechukwu. Anyone "chukwu" anything is an automatic flag and indicator of igbo or SE. You all voted for him as a SE son. You have repeatedly been proud of your 90% or better turn out to get him in because by association with the region he is a proxy President for igbo. So to say SE is coming in 2015, you need to reasses your politicakl notes on zoning my friend. The cchair goes North in 2015. |
Neither is happening. Look at how GEJ has already been challenged by North and so far he has yielded. Just two months in his first term. I don't know about North but West sees Gej as representing East as well. If we talk about zoning, what are the qualifying zones? Put Edo man for Presidency next, they have been in national politics a very long time. Put Benue, Plateau, Kwara, U see where I'm going? So Gej is from the East. Take it back to North. Then come around to West. After that back to East. |
I'm glad you switched the discussion ZnO. Alhaji, see what I said, came true did it not? You cannot slack for igbo, you have to constantly pound him if you want respect. But to answer you ZnO, the North you were speaking for already have plans to stop an igbo ascent to Aso rock. You gonna need support from the same Yorubas you are tarnishing to get that success. U know that don't u? |
Nigeria is used to academic titles and traditional titles, that we never assess capabilities and potentials based on scorecard accomplishments, and nor do we demand it of them as a measure of excellence and appeal. You all want change, Its time for change and it begins with a higher expectations. We will inspect your track records. |
But I will re-state the fact that 'Fashola' will never be President of Nigeria. , Because ? |
Forget all that nonsense about obj ran 8yrs. Wth? Field a more quallified candidate with that can match results and non-discriminating appeal. ZnO, since when did you become the mouthpiece to tell us what North want or hates? Give me a better candidate than Fasola in terms of tangibles. |
i wish u can be debating like this without tribalism That day is gone. I'm here now with a mission. I spent a whole year pleading with igbos to stop their battering of Yorubas and they refused. The war of tribalism and propaganda is on!!! |
The fact he did not discriminate in his deportation policy says a lot ! Does it not? If you are looking for a non-discriminating candidate will Fasola not be a choice? |
I don't know if the CBN Chairman's wife is white or black. There were three Dr Sanusi from that family - their father had about 96 kids and more than half of them are successful in one way or the other. If this is the one married to a white woman, he will not run for Presidency in 2015. He schooled in England and is very laid back. The fact he is even in CBN is surprising. However, if its any of the other two, you can bet yyour a.s.s they are in the contest till kingdom come! |
<Quote> Fashola, Ngozi, Rochas, El-Rufai and Sanusi </quote> Fashola - broad appeal, successful execution of office duties, role nodel for aspiring governors, fiscal responsibility, high scorecard results, open partnership for foreign investment and growth consolidation under a 100yr plan to transform the environment and economy of Lagos. Let me stop at this point for now. Now, compare the other potential candidates on this hopeful list and match or beat Fashola results. Remember I Did not include his academics, professional or even awards. Just the publicly acclaimed results alone. |
Unlike the traditional islamic names, Sambo is a native Hausa name. I believe it means junior sibling (like Dada in Yoruba), can't reflect correctly on my knowledge of Hausa native names now. |
Vincenzo, Ask other Nigerians who the "whine tribe" is. Would you like a new post on the topic so you can get a good feedback? There is a quota system in the federal arrangement - Gowon was a magnanimous person, although you hate him; as you do every other good leader in this country. He forgave your trespasses and welcomed you back into the fold. A very good man and igbo owe - not Zik, not Ojukwu, not Irinsi - him (Gowon) your praises and gratitude for whatever success came out of igboland, in manpower or land resource after your post-Biafra recovery. If he had done like most other warring commanders do to a rebel group he should have installed non-igbos as administrators over you and your land. But that man did not! He brought you back in as if nothing had happened and then included a sharing allocation to accomodate your recovery. Yet, your ungrateful greedy a.s.s.e.s hate him! You were lucky Murtala or Obasanjo was not the one in power, igbo will be reunited with its kin in Cameroon and Ijaw, Efik, Edo, Urhobo, Igalla will be the new owners of the land. But, as I have said repeatedly, if igbo is verY sure that it has any ounce of glory in its historical past, if igbo is sure that if it wasn't for outside alliances it would have defeated Nigeria, if igbo Is sure that its innovation iS superb, if Igbo is sure that Biafra is a super power, if Igbo is sure that it has more wealth than any other grp, if igbo is sure that it will defeat and take over Nigeria, if igbo is sure that it cherishes its homeland. . . . . Then what are you waiting on, go on another rampage, repeat your atrocities of the 60s, bring Biafran guns out, assert the will of the land of the rising sun. Fools!!! Gowon is not in power this time. Let's see if you don't end up as new ethnic grp in Central Africa. |
Fulani people should start buying grazing land in ebonyi, that will qualify them as land owners and rightful residents of the state. Right udezue? |
Listen to the tactic Omoruyi is using. He's attempting to bait them to step out of their hole. 1. He said we don't have a face! In other words present a spokesperson for facetime. 2. We don't know what they want! In other words, let's open dialogue to hear your demands. 3. Let's give them their demand. In other words, you are close to getting your trophy, just few more things to do to get you there - Come out and talk! Appointing a factime spokesperson to go in negotiation will be their doom. I hope they fall for the trick, but I doubt their mind is that simple. |
I went to school in Kano with a son of former Emir of Kano, Sarki Mohammadu Sanusi, who abdicated the throne for Ado Bayero. The Emir had about 96 children. I don't blame them for not coming out. Come out into what, misery and sufferhead? |
Move this crap to romance! |
On another post few days ago, I started to formulate a devilish idea to post in response to namfav - who I believe is fulani. My sister watched the drama and sent me text. "Hey, in regard to retarded idea, no you will not"! That was the end of the drama. Lol! A distant parent was fulani and she took a high dosage of that dna in her blood. So I will be in trouble again if she sees this. But honestly, I'm tired of their nonsense believing they can cause trouble and no penalty. |
Aloy and Alhaji, Good points! To Aloy's point, when confronted with periodic assaults, how far do you take dplomacy before you fight back? To Alhaji's point, the author made it appear these fulanis were transient and not paermanently based on the land. |
I told them to start uprooting their mansions and properties from Lagos and get ready to emigrate to Cameroon. So what you see is advertisement for the moving company that help ships the Lagos property to Abia before the emigration. Don't be alarmed by it! Lol! |
Makes sense! |
On the fulani nomad! Can you imagine if Tiv farmers go into Fulani cattle ranch and cause trouble. Wouldn't they want to know his busines there? , and deal wit his a.r.s.e? |
Yep, sangross! My great grandmother had a stall there and I would run errands for her between Epetedo and Ebute Ero when I was little. Lmao! |
How does a nomadic tribe, people who travel light and have no vesting on the land hold off the land owners in a face off fight? It is incomprehensible! Have we acquired western education so we can loose our sense of being? How does a passerby come through your house, armed less than you, and hold you hostage? . . . In your own house! There is time for legal justice and there is time for jungle justice. This confrontation demands jungle justice. |
Ti oju o ba ti ehin igbeti, oju o ni ti ilu eko = What? Why do Lagosians use that phrase and in what context? Where is Ehin Igbeti in Lagos? Why was the place named Ehin Igbeti This is in reference to a repulsive situation. Ehin Igbeti was a dump, a fenced off area for depositing waste. It was an open fill of decay and filth, located on the outskirts of town. |
I believe you are right on Ilubirin. I knew it was sandwiched between Ebute Elefun at the tail end of Epetedo and the bay into Obalende but I mixed it with another area altogether. What is the name of the market coming fom Moloney heading North before getting to King's college? Kakawa to Onikan is Campos and Odan. |
Its a conspiracy and jealousy to kill their bravery and brilliance and prosperity. We need human rights organization to investigate ! Loud mouthed fools coming behind everybody else and thinking they are owed respect. Bini Empire should have done to them what Oyo did to Dahomey. They were lucky they didn't border into Oyo empire, they will be ruled by an Oba instead of Obi. |
310 Muhammad Bello, in ARNETT 1922: a) [p.13] West of Katsina and Gobir there are seven separate countries called “Banza Bakwai”. 311 These are Zamfara and Kebbi, Yauri, Nufi [Nupe], Yoruba, 312 Borgu and Gurma. Each of these has a Sarki [i.e. king] who is equal to the others , b) [p.16] The country of Yoruba is extensive and has streams and forests and rocks and hills. There are many curious and beautiful things in it. The ships of the Christians come there. 313 The people of Yoruba are descended from the Kanaana [= Canaanites] and the kindred of Nimrud. 314 Now the reason of their having settled in the west according to what we are told is that Yaarubu son of Kahtan drove them out of Irak to westwards 315 and they travelled between Masar [Misr, i.e. Egypt] and Habash [= Ethiopia] until they reached Yoruba. It happened that they left a portion of their people in every country they passed. It is said that the Sudanese who live up on the hills [i.e. the Nigerian Plateau] are all their kindred; so also the people of Yauri are their kindred. The people of Yoruba resemble those of Nufi in appearance. 316. In the land of Yoruba are found the birds green in colour which are called ‘Babaga’ in Arabic and which we call ‘Aku’. It is a bird which talks and is beautiful. 317. Now in this country of Yoruba there are many wonderful things. Mallam Mohamman Masani has related them in his book Nafhat’ul Ambariya. He has also written further about this country in his book Azharu Ruba about Yoruba. 318. The people of Yoruba catch slaves from our land and sell them to the Christians so we are told. I mention this to stop people selling Moslem slaves to them, because of those who buy them. Harm will result from this. ------------------------------------------------ Notes: 310. Muahammed Bello - Scholar and later (1817-31) Caliph of Sokoto, author of many works in Arabic; his Infaq al-Maisur, cited here, was written in 1812. A partial translation of this passage was included in Denham & Clapperton 1826, 163, 165. 311. i.e. the ‘bastard seven’, as opposed to the seven true Hausa states, the former being supposedly descended from the legitimate and the latter from the legitimate sons of the legendary ancestor of the Hausa, Bayajidda. 312 Yoruba (or more correctly, Yaraba) is the usual Hausa name for Oyo (as noted e.g. by Clapperton 1829, 4); but cf. also below No.66e for its use in a more general sense. 313 Cf. No.68a and c below, for this mistaken belief that Europeans visited Oyo; in fact, of course, the Oyo dealt with them only through coastal ports such as Porto-Novo. 314 Cf. similar stories of descent from Nimrud (‘Lamurudu’) recorded later in Oyo traditions (Johnson 1921, 3-4; and discussion by Law 1984, 199-205). 315 Yar‘ub ibn Qahtan, legendary ancestor of the southern Arabs; evidently a folk etymology to explain the name Yoruba. 316 i.e. parrots (Hausa aku). 317. Muhammad ibn Masanih of Katsina (d. 1667): see further Bivar & Hiskett 1962, 116. These works relating to Yoruba have apparently not survived. 318. For the sale of Hausa slaves through Oyo, cf. No.55g above. Bello appears to disapprove of this because it involved the sale of Muslim slaves into non-Muslim ownership; cf. further Fisher 1988. |
