Acid, keep ya eyeballs out of my business. ![]() Politically, I am her most loyal fan. Among many attributes, she is politically savvy and shrewd in her judgements. . .she is detached from emotional flux. She has my vote. |
haha. good responseWho said this? Who is it that posted this comment? |
I see, you don't like to take risks. You should embrace adventure from time to time. . .especially those on the margin of legality. The definition of legality is the responsibility of the government, not mine. If its not prohibited, then I am assuming it to be legal. . .until defined otherwise by the authorities. Now, would you like to take an adventure trip with me? |
Kobo, I have an idea. . .a money making idea. Would you love to hear it? |

Finally, I want to sound a note of warning to everyone on Nairaland: Do Not Argue with davidylan. Don't ask me why, just don't!Hey, stop patronizing! |
when you cut the hands of a man due to sharia law, dont expect Lagos to welcome him with open arms.Is this Davidylan or someone maquerading? Where is Toyin. . .what are you feeding him? Whatever it is. . .keep it glued to his tongue. ![]() Anyway, my hats off to you David for this response. I wanted to say something but you said it all and I will shutup. |
we've run out of valid points i guess its time to start copy-pasting the flawed analysis of others?lol! Cash for Clunker is currently CLUNKED for CASH!! The President is sorrounded left and right by Harvard alumnis. Beside brand, what else is Harvard good for? Its graduates turned Wall Street on its head and capsized the economy. Then they entered the White House and are treating it like a Corporate Financial Outfit. WTF is advising President Obama on these fluffy projects? What next. . .a bailout for Harley Davidson bikes? Oh no, I forgot its mid-year, too early! Rescues are needed in fall. Mid year is for environmental campaigns. Bring out the Harvard eggheads to rollout the environmental campaign against global noise decibel. Let's CASHout some Harley CLUNKers and save future genrations from loosing their hearing. If you absolutely have to get your education in Cambridge, Massachussetts. . .go to MIT. Harvard is only good for turning out CLUNKER heads! |
Out of the many reasons, ( - some of which are clearly criminal in scope - ), why anyone would not want their money tracked. . .it's too naive and conceeding to simply write it off as tax evasion. Do you know for how long American politicians have used "war on drugs" as a public policy instrument to win electoral votes? . . .and all they can say on this disclosure is that it was done to avoid paying tax Really? Who are they kidding? You are looking at money laundered underground for financing drug trafficking, arms dealing, gem mining, oil smuggling and so on and so forth. Tax evasion was no reason why those accounts exist. President Obama is playing with fire! ![]() |
How savage these islamist fools are..How can you deform an individual as punishment for a crime. . . .even the death penalty sounds more humane and sensible Physical handicap such as an amputated limb is one form of many ways in which an individual can be deformed. Its not just the Northerners, under Sharia law, that are deformed. Many Western and Eastern citizens living under the judicial system of tort law face injustices that decapitate their livelihood. . .in the process they are distressed and depressed but continue on strongly, masking the psychological damage beneath the skin. We are all handicapped and our abilities are retarded by the government, regardless of what judicial system is prevalent in the region we live in. The goverment is your roadblock to progress. . .not the individual from the North or anywhere else for that matter. If anything is worth condemning in this report, it is the blindness of the indigenous people to step away from the practice of foreign philosophical thoughts and embrace whatever is remnant in their own ancestral teachings of humanities and cosmos. There is just as much value and substance in it, if not more than that adopted from the Arabs and the Europeans. |
I know it is natural to compare the cost of healthcare in US and UK or Canada. The comparison is not taking into account the various indices of economic performance and demography between the two. While the cost is lower in UK for instance. . .how long does it take to set up appointment and see a doctor? What is the average front office wait time? How about after care and follow up? How about disability coverage? |
"Parents should lay up for their children". In this case, we have children laying up for their parents. It's not just right on many levels.Tayo, Parents want to sacrifice for their kids. . .government has intruded and usurped parental rights on domestic authority. Parents have lost the battle and many have surrendered that responsibility to the state or the federal govt. Though it is not connected to your concern, it is nonetheless a collateral outcome and shares roots back to congressional overstretch. Who is writing the laws? Which is the overwhelming power these big corporations wield over citizenry not only within but outside of the US and how it is essential to create equality in the face of such greed and individualistic gluttony seeing that these self created "monsters" do not have overwhelming influence over life and death situations.Morpheus, I am not sure a government run healthcare in US is a better option to the private system currently in place. I say this for many reasons but of immediate note, I do not believe that designating any more power to congress will change the culture in Washington. The constitution already divested to them the power to regulate commerce and generate revenue (tax); in practice the check and balances in the system makes it imperative that congress regulate market monopolies. . .whatever sector such monopoly might exist. . .and in fact they do have laws in place for anti-trust practice. The problems we face with private healthcare system is linked with corruption in congress. If this proposed government healthcare reform is that great as is promoted, then have the congressional members be the first to enroll in it. I hope you know that private healthcare is highly subsidized by government already and that private enterprises only carry a small burden of the balance. I need to ask the question one more time. . .who is writing our laws, is it congress or is it corporate enterprise? Look at the mess with FDA already. If government runs healthcare then who will oversee compliance of the pharmaceutical companies? Please don't say FDA! How will a corrupt agency that is very incompetent in managing drug production and supplies in a private economy be relied on to oversee proliferation of prescription drugs signed by doctors on government payroll? People are claiming that its a good idea because citizens are offered choice between government plan and the private plan. True, product offerings fom multiple suppliers is good for competitive commerce and innovation but certain social institutions are best left out of competition between the government and private enterprise. I will give an example with education. Many states issue permits and licences to private enterprises to run headstart schools. These private headstarts are funded through taxpayers dollars. The operators turn around and charge parents for enrollment and attendance. It is becoming commonplace for these headstarts to expand operationsto accomodate curricullum from pre-K to 2nd or 3rd grade. This is a perfect example of conflict of interest between a government funded entity in direct competition wth government run public school. |
As to FDR? I will quote from Arthur Schlesinger, Jr's book - The Coming of the New Deal: "Those taxes were never a problem of economics. They are politics all the way through. We put those payroll taxes there so as to give the contributors a legal, moral, and political right to collect their pensions and their unemployment benefits. With those taxes in there, no damn politician can ever scrap my social security program."Good point! In retrospect, its a good thing Bush failed in his attempt to throw SSI into speculative market. |
The biggest insult to me of this entire healthcare reform crap is that members of Congress & their families will NOT be enrolled in it, they will have their own private healthcare seperate from the rest of us insignificants."CHANGE WE BELIEVE IN". . .well, walk the talk! This is one of many things wrong with congressional privileges and I thought Obama wasgoing in there to change Washington. Here is the chance to start from top. . .lead by example. Reform healthcare from top where the privilege is at the subsistence of tax dollars. |
lol at "APBBN". Tayo, you no well o. . ![]() |
Cash for Clunkers is not unique to the USA. We've got the same scheme here in the UK. I guess its something to help local car manufacturers, and also with the added benefit of an environmental effect. No be today wey the automobile industry was made a quasi-public institution. The End of Imperialism! The UK, for many centuries, trotted round the globe forcing its parliamentary system of government and capitalist economy on natives in different continents. America is in that same position UK was many years back in the sense that its overbearing power shrinks and to maintain scale of revenue flow, which is dwindled from foreign earnings, it collapses inward on its own citizens. The citizens start to feel what the colonies felt under the imperial power of foreigners. The fact that the same scheme of subsidy for cash purchase exist in UK does not excuse the practice as anti-capitalism. Anti-capitalism is reason why Cuba has for many years been economically cordoned off from rest of the global economy. Anti-capitalism is reason why America invaded Panama. Anti-capitalism was used diplomatically and militarily to wage war and destroy societies that supported their own indigenous industries against imposing influx of American corporations on their soil. Why would America and UK practice, in effect, the very same policies that they advocated against? Is that not fraudulent? |
don't see what the gripe is about socialism. America needs to fall into these cycles when necessary.Amerca has an anti-solcialism policy towards South America. . .or anywhere else on the globe for that matter. Precisely, America is preaching democracy and capitalism around the globe. No socialism, no communism, only capitalism. Falling into a socialist cycle when necessary is not acceptable and could only mean America had been a fraud all along. If there is hope and faith in socialism for economic recovery, then Chaves, Morales, Mugabe and all these other people are doing the right thing for their countries economically. |
Nothing wrong with the picture if as Oriki said she is ill or at home but indisposed to care of our baby and keep the house. Heck, I will strap the baby on my back and be that man in the picture. But can he take the rope off his neck for Christ's sake? |
The govt can't imagine just giving money out to its citizens . That would be some sort of socialism so why not disguise it in programs such as of "cash for clunkers."Ahhhh!!! That makes sense. . .so what happened to his mantra of "CHANGE WASHINGTON"? If White House would fund socialist programs disguised as capitalism, then who is left standing to convince Congress from hiding pork allocations under such generous but defeatist programs? I guess Bush left some barrells of "kool aid" behind for Obama to dispense to the dumbed citizens. By the way don't worry. They haven't taxed you that money yet but will do so in years to come to recoup so you still have a chance to escape back to Naija to avoid it., waiting on Becomerich to finish work on his new map so I will know if I belong in East, North or West. ![]() |
Can the Obamamaniacs please shed light on this. I would love to hear from those who have fought valiantly in support of President Obama's stimulus plan. Please enlighten me on why your cousin in the White House is doing this? CASH FOR CLUNKERS. . . But first, did anyone see Geithner on abc's This Week? Does the guy suffer from autism or something? He sounded like whining Palin. . , .no sorry, Palin has more testosterone than this guy. Anyway, why should my tax money subsidize a car purchase that I am not driving? |
What resemblance? My brother, throughout his teenage years, looked exactly like MJ in his teens. My father's features when he was in his teens were the same looks. We have no blood relations wit MJ, we know who we are, although we love him. Resembling MJ does not make Omer his son. . . Besides, . , if Omer was truly his biological son, then his looks at 26 would be a carbon of MJ's when he was at that age. In many ways, the first blood son is always a split image of the father. Omer is not a split image of Michael before or after his transformed features. |
What!!! Still on romance, 'thought this post was done. What's happening Roki? |
