Who are all these people talking about Yoruba this and Yoruba that. . .? Eh, who arethese people? Here s the bottom line, your ethnic group have failed you in the central conference. You dont go to an interview for a job and blame the interviewer for failing you. You have the responsibility to understand the nature of job interview, to know how to read personalties and most important to understand your own capability to influence and then make tha capabiity work in your favor. If you didnt get the job, its not because the interviewer was bad. . . its because you needto improve your skills and win him/her over. It's simple!!!! In history, no government authority has ever succeeded in eradicating a political movement. Never. . . !! Grassroot political movements are the backbone of a strong political power. Movements inch their way into the center, not away from it. The way you do it is you become a political opponent to the mainstream. If on the other hand you abandon your political aspirations and instead start demonstrating guerilla activities. . . then guess what, You drift further away into marginalization. MEND is digging its grave. If I were a MEND leader I will send delegate to Fashola and the people of Lagos and apologize and reinstate our grievances against the FG and solicit his help in negotiating a sustainable inclusion. I have been lamenting on NEGOTIATIONS now for some time. Everyone will agree that Fashola is a very skilled negotiator and have tremendous influence with the FG. Who is better to have on your side than such a man? To those of you wondering why Yorubas outsmart other groups. In a political culture. . . you do not need frce, you need strategy. Th Yoruba style ought to be a good model for those ethnic groups that want political survival. The greatest of the Northern warriors, Usman Dan Fodio himself based his seven Hausa states on the model of a very successful and ancient Oyo strategy for Imperial power and dominion. It worked for the Yorubas through the ages and it is still working today althgough the aplication evolves based on the circumstance on the ground. The Yoruba throws punches in the air and raises dust with his feet. . . but while you are wondering when his physical blow is going to land . . . he has done far more damage with his brain and you are the victim in that spol, |
Negro bobs head and snaps finger. . . Congo, I'm diggying that song. . . now ya talking She's one leg in, one leg out. . .gotta get the body in my friend. |
Wow! You guys are still on this topic. ![]() |
Aloy, That's beside the point. Im a Nigerian and my focus is along that line. What is MEND going to do on the wake of the Governor's warning to make sure there is no repeat? On the issue of Lagos as a target against Yoruba. I hope not but I believe there are many potential disadvantages if the Yorubas in Lagos were to target and boycott certain markets. The financial impact would affect lives in Delta far more adversely than the oil they are claiming can compensate for or offset. Everyone keep talking about war and violent confrontation. . . but in the impulse, no one is considering that lives will be uprooted from their immediate source of sustenance. Put the hostilities aside and heed the Governors warning. The Governor is your authority, not OPC. |
Thinking of going down south next weekend too. Just get into moi bikini and enjoy the beach. Thatz if the hurricane doesnt carry me awayLock that thing down. . .click click!! . . .warn all those seniors to get life insurance before they glance at "your bouncy chest", lifeguard is for water rescue. . . not for cardiac arrest ![]() |
Its two things passionate women love best. . .a romantic lover and a fantasy journey with him. Songs are the gateways to that fantasyland. Sample this. . . I''l give you the sun, the moon and the stars that sorround it, I'll even give you the world and all that you wish for. ![]() If you tell this to a man he will call you a thief, ole!. If you tell it to a woman. . . ooohhh, she will tell her friends she has met the man of her dreams. Be reminded that "dreams" and "fantasy" carry same meaning. |
Lol its wet and hot over here.hahahaha. . . hmmm, I bet it is! ![]() I need the feel of an open water. Savannah offers that to me. . . beside the fact that their streets and settings reminds me so much of Lagos. |
Its hot here too and dry. I feel like going to Savannah for weekend. . . |

Did you say something else? I couldnt be sure if you asked about a winning. Yes, I won some money atthe BINGO! ![]() |
No sweat. . . OPC will not attack your people. . either in Lagos or anywhere. Fashola has spoken. Fashola has delivered a very responsible and appropriate message using this incidence as lessons learnt and to warn MEND and any other entity that might nurse similar ambitions that he does not want a repeat. Thats it! Its now upto you how you manage that message. OPC will not manage it for you, . .you have the burden to share that mesage amongst your people and respect the Governor. |
Lmao, . .I have a special dedication song for you and David. Let me know when its official. You will love the song. . .if he sings it to you well you will tear up. ![]() |

Lagos is a no mans landLagos is as good a no man's land as the oil in Delta is a no man's resource. Lagos belongs to us all. . . so does the oil. Do you fail to make that wise connection? The struggle is already successful. The federal government is already begging for talks. You call Federal Government talks a "success". Isn't this the same FG that you have no trust in to represent your interest? What makes you think that the talk is a success and not a strategy to stall MEND and delay resolution further while giving the appearance of honest brokerage? |
Your people need negotiators to speak for your interest. You do not need antagonists to make it more difficult to give credit and symapthy. I will give you example. . . MEND blows up oil facilities in Lagos. Few days later some terrorists blow up a hotel in Jakarta. The situation in Lagos makes it very easy for your struggle to play into the hands of a propagandists who might want to market you as a terrorist and disgruntled tribe. You need negotiators. . . people who know how to tear down political barriers and deliver results. You see in US for many years the African Americans spent hours marching and protesting with placards. It became the rule to contain their protests and allow the vent. . . knowing it will soon dissipate and the country can return to normalcy"business as usual". The mainstream society held on to the upper hand. The protests were not delivering results. A new set of political radicals saw fit to begin negotiations with the powerful white ruling communities. . . and that's how the Blacks in America made inway to establishments and became effective in their partnership with the mainstream. You need the same strategy. |
Well, guess where the money is going to come from to repair and rebuild those destructions? Guess what lessons those thieves have now learnt? They have not been killed remember. . . but they have now been taught to hurry up and get as much as they can in as short a time as is possible and in a more discreet manner. This makes the equation more exclusive. |
Ehoi, What a juvenile response! If that were to happen, how do you see your struggle evolving into a successful mission? |
For God's sake, put your Yoruba hat, your Hausa hat and Igbo hat to the side and strap on the Nigeria hat and then you can express your feelings about this. That will motivate you to speak objectively about the problem. Fashola is correct, Lagos is no longer Nigerian capital. You all can relocate to the new capital now. However if you are going to stay in Lagos or visit Lagos it will be on terms with the safety and consideration for life and property. You are not allowed to blow anything up and it doesnt matter if you are from North, SW, SE or SS. You cannot seek justice for oil inequalities with the destruction of commercial activities in Lagos. Ifthat's your goal then you are not welcome, you are banned from entering the state or any of its posessions and failing which the state reserves the right to exert appropriate penalty and punishment on violators. Its as simple as that, take it or leave it. |
I dey kampe. Yes, we do think alike. . . I forgot! Wow!! Well, no worry life is full of lessons learnt. God will address your needs. Wetin be dis Dans Le Reves thing? Is that down by the river. , is that what it says? |
There is no more Yorubaland, Hausaland, Biafra. . . there is just NIGERIA. |
I believe Nigeria should fold into a cocoon and transform internally. It might take 30yrs to complete the growth but when we break out of the shell our destiny will be better defined and promising to readily take on global challenges.Omo, This is what I said in another post today. It coincides precisely with your take. This what we need to do. |
You still dey with that dis nambari guy? |
Omo you no dey go back o. Belle sweet me as I take eyeball you so. How you been? |
Hey Mandingo, I got good news for you. Today, after a lengthy discussion with the Igbos. . . I decided to join their side and advocate a just cause for their right to ownership and full participation in the government. Of course my action will be limited to NL for now. I am still a full fledged Yorubaman but I am not happy at all in what I see in my brothers and sisters from the East. I hope well intended fellows will join with meon this mission. It cannot be denied that the pains of war, though not visible to the naked eye is still a malignant scar buried deep within the soul. The noise about Biafra is not an ordinary noise. . . but rather an honest attempt to correct the injustices and inequities of losses. . human life and property. The plight of my Igbo brothers and sisters touch me deeply. They need to know that we care. . . that we understand. . . that we share in their struggle for redemption and progress. We all own this country together and we are each a partner - the Hausa, The Igbo and The Yoruba -, its a three way partnership. One going at it alone will not succeed in the ultimate goal to join heads and elbows to reconstruct and reform our societies for future generations. Two going at it alone will all but ruin the gains of prosperity so far laboured and fought for on the sweat of the multitude. Three going at it together completes the team. That's what we are. . . a Team. It's not a competition but rather a reinforcement to beat the odds together and emerge a stronger nation. Let me cut the speech short here. . . Igbo Kwenu! Igbo Kwenu!! Igbo Kwenu!!! |
Mandingo I have answer for you but make I greet my sista first. |
