Just goes to show how little you know about the US
TRAMP created the US economy? I beg don't out your mouth inside things that you are clueless of.
Comparing the US economy to Nigeria? Only deepens your level of cluelessness.

Your performance is lacklustre. Your reading comprehension is nothing to write home about. If not, you would have clearly understood that I wrote "Trump created the most prosperous economy in US history" AND NOT "TRUMP CREATED US ECONOMY".

With the way you understand things so poorly, it's not a surprise you're one of those gullibles CNN and BBC has fooled into thinking Trump is racist, Trump is bad, Trump is evil, Trump is dull.

Trump that you think is dull and not smart is a Billionaire in dollars, and he did not steal government money like Tinubu to become a billionaire. You that think you are smart, how many billions have you made with your 'smartness' undecided

One way you know Atheists are doomed if they don't find Christ and repent is the fact that they can't even get their facts right. Everything about what they think they know is total error. This one claims there are ALMOST 5000 gods worshipped by humans........and he really thinks he is knowledgeable, and that 'knowledge' is where his convictions hang. He is not even aware that in India alone, they have over 1million gods they worship! If you were the real 'intellectual' who has facts on his side, you should have gotten the most basic of your facts right. But no! you live in error and feel cool with yourself. No wonder a passage as Psalms 14:1 exists in the bible undecided

Confusing though.

Because would this Heaven be welcoming to Bhudists, Sango worshippers and Muslims?

Or strictly to those who practise a particular religion?

You have asked the wrong question.
Heaven is not for "religious people". It is for PEOPLE WITHOUT SIN! Your next question should then be how is it possible to find people without sin in such a sinful and corrupt world we live in? Answer: This is where Jesus comes in. Jesus said "except a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God". Jesus also said "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NO MAN CAN COME TO GOD EXCEPT THROUGH ME".

This is why genuine christianity is not like any other religion. Other religions tell you what laws and regulations you must obey to be accepted by God, but we all know that none of us including Buddha or Mohammed is able to keep all those laws without failing in even one of them. This is where Jesus makes the difference because Jesus did not just come to give us more laws to follow, but rather he came to die on the cross and pay for our sins, so that our sins can be transferred to him and his righteousness can be transferred to anyone who chooses to believe in him. Jesus did an exchange on the cross for us.

This is the reason why we can now enter heaven, not because we worked to become righteous but because we believe in Jesus who gave us a gift of righteousness. So if you feel you believe in buddha, the question is did buddha promise you a gift of righteousness that will make you "sinless" to qualify to enter heaven?? Or can you achieve sinless ness by any other means other than it being given to you as a gift you don't deserve just like Christ did for those who believe in him If you can answer this question truthfully to yourself, then you will stop being confused about who will or will not enter heaven among the thousands of religious people you find on earth

Your problem nelsonoba is you think too highly of yourself. Use the string "MuttleyLaff ekklesia" without the inverted commas and do a search in the Religion forum, to find out if it was because of your case I put ekklesia on the table. Don't even bother, just click on below link, to see how far from the truth, by a factor of 100, you are.

You cant say its my fault ,if you stick your fingers into your ears and not want to listen to me repeatedly saying I am not the enemy, lol

If only you've heard about the thing called "The Kingdom of God" associated with radical and liberal democracy lol. I am sure you didnt know that Jesus was interested in democracy that much that He adopted the phraseology ekklesia, taken from the first known democracy in the world, lol, the Athenian democracy bwahahaha.

But who did this thing to @MuttleyLaff cry

I think I need to start praying for you, because this is not normal. For a so-called christian to be arguing that the kingdom of God is a democracy and Jesus adopted democracy from Athens either means that person is really not a Christian or they have had their mind blinded by the god of this world to the point that they can't even see the basic truth that Jesus is King and his kingdom does not depend on democracy.

***Jesus adopted democracy from the Athenians undecided .....if only this guy knew who Jesus is, he would have known that both democracy and the Athenians were all created by Jesus, and as such Jesus does not need to learn or adopt any democracy from Athens***

Smh. Instead of you to just suck it in, but no, you rather be hellbent on publicly displaying your ignorance and showing yourself up, erhn. Someone should try and put duct tape on your hands and fingers

So what, if that picture originally refers to "democracy"? Whether it refers to or doesnt refer to democracy, is irrelevant. What is relevant is its common denominator it shares with dodgy politicians and/or pastors. It portrays the picture that, it is you who gives these people (i.e. dodgy politicians and/or pastors) the power to enslave and subjugate you. It is the support you give them that keeps them in balance and/or power. Step back, one by one, away from the board plank, then wait to watch and see what happens to the dodgy politician(s) and/or pastor(s). What happens is the politician(s) and/or pastor(s), sooner or later tumble and fall over, lol

"42So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them (i.e. their high officials exercise authority over them.)
43But among you it will be different Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,
"
- Mark 10:42-43

Yes nelsonoba, the church of Christ, is government of DEMOCRACY, and according to Jesus, in Mark 10:42-43 above when talking to the discples, it is a special and/or different kind of government of DEMOCRACY. Democracy, fyi, has biblical roots that you're unaware of, lol. Life, in the beginning, started on a democratic footing, lol. Also, I am sure you've heard it said that, democracy is a government of all the people, by all the people, for all the people, abi?

"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, a small rock and upon the large rock I will build my congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones},
and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against her.
"
- Matthew 16:18

I am sure you didnt know that Jesus was interested in democracy that much that He adopted the phraseology ekklesia, taken from the first known democracy in the world, lol, the Athenian democracy.

Ekklesia, meaning, a gathering of those called out and/or summoned ones, is the principal assembly, open to all male citizens as soon as they qualified for citizenship of ancient Athens. Ekklesia is an Athenian democracy feature that allowed all Athenian citizens to come together, regardless of class and so even the lowest social class of citizens to discuss civil matters and/or participate in democratic politics. Everyone was considered equal in the ekklesia and any citizen present could participate and share his ideas, opinions, and concerns." Incidentally, what Jesus in Mark 10:42-43 above, was teaching the disciples is what Theodore Parker captured perfectly well, with the quote, that: "Democracy means not, I am as good as you are, but you are as good as I am"

nelsonoba, Jesus changed the original political meaning of ekklesia to a religious one. Praise God. Alleluia. We are talking here, of radical and liberal democracy nelsonoba, lol, and that's where Galatians 3:26-28, Acts 4:42-47 and James 1:27 took their cue from, lol.

nelsonoba, let me clear you up properly on ekklesia, lol, so you'll know what is really going on with it. Maybe, you'll learn a thing or two, and would have become wiser and wise enough to make re-adjustments, where and/or if applicable, to your theology, lol.

To start with and as a matter of fact, "ekklesia" is the proper and correct noun word for used for believers, called out and/or gathered together, which the word "church", as it is, presently or currently represents.

"Ekklesia" actually, is a Greek word, which in Athens and in most Greek poleis (i.e. Greek cities or states) means an assembly of demo
(i.e. yes, demo, is the Greek word for people, as like the "demo" in democracy) So "ekklesia" effectively, is an assembly of summoned free people or a gathering of those summoned. The word "ekklesia", is derived from "ekkletos" meaning summoned and "ekkaleom" meaning to summon or call out. "Ekkletoi" refers to the called-out inhabitants or citizens of Athens or any of the Greek poleis, come together in a single place and/or single group, as a result of a call out request done by a herald, announcer or town crier.

"Ekklesia" an assembly, congregation, the whole body of believers, come together, as a result of a call out request done by our Lord Jesus Christ and not some church or something anyone starts, because as I previously typed, ekklesia is a family we belong to.

The true meaning, import or connotation of "ekklesia" is lost or eroded when it is used or translated to/as "church", as "ekklesia" represents something totally different to what we've commonly perceived what "church" is.

"Ekklesia," as far back in the Old Testament wilderness days, has always been an assembly or congregation of called-out people (i.e. Acts 7:38 is referring to the congregation in Deuteronomy 9:10) and it's no different in the original Greek New Testament whether used in non-secular and secular settings (i.e. Matthew 16:18 and Acts 7:38 for non-secular then Acts 19:32, 39 and 41 for secular) Notice in Acts 19:32, 39 and 41, that "ekklesia" is used three times, for people not connected with religious or believers matters, but are assembling or gathering together.

So the point is that "ekklesia" isn't about physical structures, buildings, cathedrals etcetera, and the Greeks, the originators of the word, never referred "ekklesia", to be church, building or place of worship.

I am sure nelsonoba, you'll return here to say, all this etymology stuff on "ekklesia", is bunkum and time wasting, it's nitpicking over minute details, and that it's pedantic and fault-finding or you, even might say, church or ekklesia, whatever the noun used, it doesn't matter. Well if you do nelsonoba, that will be you delighting in ignorance(s), with saying, church or ekklesia, it makes no difference, that it's much ado about nothing and so what's the big deal. Fyi, I could tell you more, like about the English word "church" on its self, and about its actual pagan origins, but this is will be overstepping the scope of the thread's title heading, lol. Maybe another thread, another time or another day, lol. Again, I am not the enemy, lol.

shocked shocked So because of my case you went to do this PhD thesis on "ekklesia"

So you know all these things you wrote here, yet you don't know Christ?? Such an irony..........

If only you had heard about the thing called "The Kingdom of God", it would have solved all your problems because you will know that all kingdoms are ruled by Kings and other appointed people! God's kingdom is not a democracy! I know this is hard bone for babes (nepilles) like you, but when you begin to come into spiritual maturity you will understand it. For now, what you need is just to accept Christ as your Lord and begin to follow him grin

nelsonoba, the pasted above picture, is worth more than ten thousand words.

I have seen that picture many times, but you fail to open your eyes to understand a thing! That picture refers to DEMOCRACY. It can also refer to some other forms of human government where human beings appoint a leader to govern them. When it comes to the church of Christ, is it a government of DEMOCRACY Have you ever heard God consult you before calling any of the men of God we hear about today? Have you also heard the devil consult you when he calls any of the fake pastors we know of today? So mr man, there is no democracy involved here. Keep your democracy to politics. After all, in God's kingdom, Democracy is not allowed because God is king all by himself and didn't need our help to become all powerful

nelsonoba, you'll fare and do well, if you listen to the above voice of reason and wisdom from petra1. Only don't be mistaken that we are not allowed to do and/or make right judgements. Evil flourishes and prevails, when good people stay silent and don't make good, right and correct judgement

Oga MuttleyLaff, Petra1 has said the exact same thing I believe. I believe the body of Christ is not perfect and people will always make mistakes as such. I believe that the fact that the body of Christ is prone to mistake does not mean we should condone and encourage such mistakes to continue. I also believe there is order in the body of Christ (which the bible describes as an army) just as there is order in any military force, and in the military, when officers are, there are procedures to deal with them which we know as a court-martial. You don't just go about as a civilian looking for Colonels and Generals that have broken the law for you to discipline them. If you try it, you will have problem, but if another senior General constitutes a court-martial to deal with the same erring officers, things will be addressed adequately without more problems.

Also, you can't use because of the mistakes and errors of 70% of people who are pastors to now condemn all pastors and be saying all pastors are evil or fraudsters. If you haven't met genuine pastors in your life before, I HAVE MET MANY MYSELF! I have also met fraudulent pastors and to even shock you, I have been defrauded in the past by some people who claimed to be "pastors". So don't think I am saying what I am saying because I haven't seen bad pastors before and I am naive. Now, I know better to not just trust people simply because they claim to be pastors, but because of the character I see in them.......just as Jesus said, "by their fruits, you shall know them".

I am more powerful than you can process, so you throw a screaming temper tantrum, when you've ought to have outgrown throwing temper tantrums. Do you know that, at the root of every temper tantrum are unmet needs? Temper tantrums, however fun they may be to throw, rarely solve whatever problem is causing them. Don't be a baby about this. No tantrums. Your temper tantrums are the makeshifts of ignorance. I know it is out of ignorance because I am not the enemy, lol. You obviously dont know.

Salvation nelsonoba, first is individual and personal, that is meaning, you save yourself first, then soon after its about personal relationships, as in meaning vertical and horizontal ones, lol. Never see or look at another person for your excuse to not believe and/or not become a believer.

Also nelsonoba, contrary to your poor judgment and/or thinking, I do not stand at the door to stop those who are genuinely interested from entering in, because I have entered the narrow gate. Not the wide gate and its easy way road that leads to destruction but the narrow gate, that leads to life, and only a few find it. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God, and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us, lol.

If you were the only kind of 'christian' I ever met growing up, I would never have seen any need to become born again. It is Pharisees and Saducees like you that Jesus looked at and told them "woe unto you brood of vipers"! And the reason is because you don't want to enter the kingdom, and yet you stand at the door to stop those who are genuinely interested from entering in. It is because of reprobate souls like you that Jesus took a whip and flogged nonsense out of some people in the temple.

I plead with you to repent and be genuinely converted before it's too late.

It's true that some G.Os don't collect salaries they are entitled or even have refused collecting salaries for many years till date, not because as a sign to show that their faith is in God, but they know they take advantage of benefits in kind, also called fringe benefits. If you are confident you're not the one with the sawdust in your head, then why don't you prove your useless theory and start a church and be successful with it for 10 straight years? Do that to prove it, and we will come and bow before you and accept your philosophy. Otherwise, shove your useless philosophy we don't need it! Empty cymbals making the loudest noise!

If it is easy, then go and pray for a dumb or blind or paralysed person and let us see them healed na! You believe you know what happens in every church including places you've never been to?? Can't you see the level of your sensibility? Do you appear wise to even yourself? And the worst thing is that many of the people like you who try to form "intellectuals" and fight everything Christianity are not even half as educated as some of us that despite everything we still acknowledge God and are humble enough to know there is so much about God we don't know or understand. Can you explain how you managed to keep breathing oxygen while you were asleep and unconscious last night? Can you tell us the exact volume of oxygen you used between 12am to 6am this morning? Is organised religion not one of the lucrative and most viable business in Africa ni?
Is it not emotional blackmail and being self-conceited to be fronting that you the religious leader is the highest giver in the assembly ni?

And if you think it's very easy to start a church and be successful, then why don't you start one yourself and show us an example? Do you know there are over 200,000 registered churches in Nigeria, both real and fake combined? How come out of over 200,000 there are not up to 100 churches that have become so successful that so many people know of them like Dunamis, Winners, Dominion City, Redeemed, etc??

But your brain will not allow you do the maths to see reality. Please go and start one church let us see how easy it is!

And for your information, there are churches like Winners, Dominion city and others that I know of where their G.O.s don't collect any salary. They are entitled to salary, but they have refused to be collecting it for many years till date just as a sign to show that their faith is in God, and God blesses them through other sources including from members and non-members. Some of these GOs have businesses that generate money for them. Some of them have hundreds of people on scholarships.

But people like you and Daddy freeze will not open your eyes to see the truth. All you know and talk about are the fake pastors who are not there for God. Why don't you ever talk about people like Apostle Suleiman who has hundreds on scholarships and provides direct employment to many people from his businesses outside of his church?? Liar.

If you know what you are doing, people will hire you.

The tech industry is the only place where you are not asked for certification or grade before you are hired. Just be good and show previous projects you have done.

Very well said! I studied Mechanical Engineering in Uni, but I started learning programming years after I graduated. I didn't just learn wordpress, I learnt HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, Laravel, Angular, Vue.js, Node.js, Typescript, MySQL, NoSQL. I didn't go to school to learn them, I took many courses on YouTube and Udemy, and I did many personal projects to practice what I was learning and I was very consistent in my learning process. I didn't give up even when I faced many hurdles I found difficult to cross until I crossed them. From the day I started my first course beginning with HTML to the day I got my first job in the industry as a Junior PHP developer was about 13 months. After being on the job for about 6 months and I updated my CV to include my few months of experience plus the other new technology stack I had also learnt since I started my first job, I posted my CV online and updated my LinkedIn, and I started getting regular job offers from recruiters almost everyday. In order not to exaggerate, any week I don't receive offers from recruiters to accept their interview invitations for a job they have available, I receive nothing less than 2 invitations. There are some days when I receive up to 3 different invitations for job interviews and I haven't applied for any of them.

The point is this; be very serious with your learning. Don't go into web development just to learn how to build wordpress websites. And don't be a mediocre. Push yourself consistently and keep learning and practicing, and after a while jobs will start chasing you. Don't go into this industry so that you can get a job after 3months of training or even after 6months. You need to give it time and consistency. In fact, if I were to advice a novice who wants to start now, I will tell them to budget at least the next 18months of their life to tedious learning from courses and practicing, and to be honest, if they follow this rigorous procedure, even before the 18th month, jobs would be looking for them. Again, don't expect to be learning like only 10hours or less a week and be able to achieve this target in that 18months

Most of the good programmers in Nigeria today didn't study computer science.

Pcguru, a popular programmer on this platform didn't study computer science.

Dhtml18, who has now deactivated his account, another popular programmer here didn't study computer science. In fact, Dhtml18's case is very interesting, because he studied medicine and surgery, became a qualified doctor but he is not practicing medicine, rather he's programming and he has worked with many notable organizations.

Note: there is a world of difference between a web programmer and a WordPress installer.

We dey look

Are you sure you're OK? So you want them to send private jets that can carry no more than 10 persons all the way to South Africa and fly back just like that when there are hundreds or thousands of people waiting to be flown back? If you don't upgrade your thinking capacity to be very objective, I wonder how you can ever think to grow wealthy like some of these rich people or rich pastors you envy. People like you would not have a problem using a bucket to empty a swimming pool when you have neighbours you can borrow a pumping machine from to do the work in 1hour

Romance / Re: Ladies, Would You Date A Guy That Won't Ask You For Sex Until Marriage? by nelsonoba: 12:21am On Aug 31, 2019

Does a guy like that exist?

Even if he did, ladies would assume he's not OK down there...

That's how one impotent pastor imprisoned one girl like that for life all in the name of I'M A PASTOR, SO NO SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE

I hope you will maintain this boldness to explain to God when you stand before him in judgement at the end of your life

Culture / Re: Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor's Iwaji (New Yam) Festival 2019 by nelsonoba: 12:03am On Aug 31, 2019
PerfectlyPerfect:

New yam festival is a period of celebrating the bounties of the harvest. Nothing occultic about it. Besides, define occultic.
People rush to condemn our traditions and readily embrace stupid foreign traditions even when some of ours are better

Mr man stop lying to yourself! There was absolutely nothing good about our African traditional religion. Who did Amadioha help? Do you want to talk about all the human sacrifices that the "gods of the land" were always demanding from time to time? Or the killing of twins until Mary Slessor fought against it?

We may have a few good things in our culture such as respect for elders, etc, but certainly nothing good when it comes to traditional religion.

Thank you my Bishop for recognising our culture.
Sadly in my church, the new yam festival is being declared occultic.
To this day, it truly baffles me why we all cannot worship God whilst still upholding our many harmless traditional values.

Oga, Jesus said YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS AT THE SAME TIME. EITHER YOU SERVE GOD OR YOU SERVE MAMMON, BUT NOT BOTH!

If those new yam festivals involve making incarnations or some form of appeasement to the "gods of the land" or to dead "ancestors", then IT IS INDEED OCCULTIC and no genuine child of God has any business participating in it. But if the festivals can be conducted without any reference to gods of the land or ancestors and people can just bring their new yams to church and do Thanksgiving to Jesus alone, then it is VERY SAFE FOR A GENUINE CHRISTIAN TO PARTICIPATE IN IT. OTHERWISE YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!
