Sweetnecta:Sorry, bro lol, your name confused me. Anyway, that's true. If the girl has a pretty face, she is pretty regardless. |
azharuddin:LOL, Good visual. |
Sweetnecta:Sis, I am in no way saying dark skinned women are not beautiful, but just in the way they wear hijab (in MY experience that is). They don't seem to wear it as nicely. I don't have a better way of explaining what I am trying to say lol, By they way, are you talking about the african muslim women living in africa? (which part specifically) |
It seems to me like black/african muslim women don't look as good in hijab as arab or south asian women. I am not saying these women look better, but that they look better in the hijab. I have yet to see a black girl who still looks pretty in hijab. I don't know if it is the way they wear it, but it doesn't seem to suit them as well. I am a muslim and black myself, but I feel like when black women wear hijab it does not look as good. I know the point is to look modest, but that does not mean you can't look pretty. But then again not many african women wear it any way (aside from the somalis) so I don't see too many examples of pretty african hijabis. I have seen some Black American women in hijab as well and they don't seem to look good in it as well or wear it well. |
Araboy:Except for Hagar, most of those black women were CONCUBINES NOT MARRIED to those arab men. Prince Bandar's mother was a servant in his father's household and Prince Bandar was born out of wedlock. Yes you are right gulf arabs are the most racist. And ironically, they tend to be the darkest arabs as well. |
@the OP are you a light-skinned igbo? If you are then that might help. Anyway, I hope you haven't slept with him already. Is he a muslim or christian? The muslim ones I know do not usually marry women who have slept with them before marriage. A lot of arab men date black women to get free sex with no marriage commitment, but when it comes to marriage they tend to go find an arab virgin girl to marry. Arab men might be attracted to black women, but I don't feel it is a healthy attraction. Just sexual. Arab/black marriages are rare. In fact, I have never seen one. They rarely marry out of their race and the few who do marry white. |
I'm glad to see more responses. I haven't checked on this thread in a while. Anyway, I asked the question before b/c I thought if I could not find another Gambian from my country I would stretch it out a little bit and marry someone from the same region lol, I don't meet too many guys from my country although that is what I prefer, b/c even though I grew up in the U.S., I want to return to live in my country sometime in the future. Well, hopefully. Another west african guy would still be different, but it would not be as drastic as someone who is not african at all, or say from a foreign region of africa. I am not tribalistic, but I want to minimize the cultural differences in my marriage as much as possible. So the closer to home the better, if not from home. |
THE AMAKA:yea. ill c how things so with guy b. i thought its fair to give him a chance. and besides he has a pretty decent job. i just hope he keeps his promise about going back to school. |
sulad82i:lol, im still in college actually. anyway, thanks but ill pass. |
googles:lol, |
check properly you will still feel comfortable with one than the other,
You're right. I feel a bit more comfortable with guy b cuz not only are we both muslims, we r from the sam country. Guy a is from another west african country, but i can relate to him well also. |
THE AMAKA:Thanks girl. I think I will stick with guy b. The religion thing is important for me, b/c I plan on having children. And it would be hard to raise kids with the parents being of different religions. I will see how things go with guy b. Guy a is out of the pic I guess. |
shilling:Yes, actually I would. That's why I was asking this question. For me it is important that my guy is a muslim and has a college education as well. I think I will just have to break things off with this new dude as well and wait for someone better. I know I am not gonna find someone who is perfect but if he at least meets my basic criteria, then I am happy. But these guys are each lacking one of those. The first is not muslim. The second one didn't go to college. The thing is now, how do I break up with this guy. I need a way to tell him. |
There are these two guys that I both like very much, but I can't decide who to be with. Here are the characteristics of both. Guy A: He is christian and I'm muslim, but his father was a muslim. He's about to graduate from college this year. However, he is more into athletics than his academics. He's two years older. He is very good looking and very sweet. However, he messes around with a lot of girls, mainly white girls. He claims he is looking to get serious now. I am afraid he might me a cheater. Guy B: We are both muslim and he is quite religious. He is five years older. He was in college, but dropped out due to many reasons. Unlike the first guy, he doesn't have papers so he has to pay out of his own pocket. He says he plans on going back to get his degree. He is much brighter academically than the other guy. He is okay looking (not ugly but not handsome either). He is in-between, but I could trade good looks for a better personality. He is also athletic as well. So there it is. I don't know what to do. I'm leaning towards the first guy more, because is more educated and with him i can be sure he might not be after papers, because he is an american citizen as well. Both guys are african and so am I. I never talekd about papers with the first guy though so he doesn't know whether I have papers or not. I just always preferred an african guy who was raised abroad like myself. Guy B has been here for six years. Guy A has been here since he was about 4 years old. Guy B's main flaw is the fact that he only completed high school and Guy A's main flaw is he is of another religion. I feel like I should be with Guy B b/c of the same religion, but I like Guy A more. I've also known Guy A longer, but I broke things off with him, b/c I was worried about the religion aspect. He wants me back, but I'm now with Guy B, but I still miss Guy A. The funny thing is when I'm talking to my new guy, I keep thinking about the first guy, because they sound so much alike in their voices and way they talk. I would like to know other people's input. |
jalether:Yea, i agree. It is embarassing to have arabs win the african cup three times in a row. Actually it's four times in a row, b/c before Egypt's three wins, Tunisia won it. The last time a black african country won it was with Cameroon in 2002 I believe. |
But sometimes I feel that the fact that Egypt wins the nations cup three times in a row, repeatedly fails to qualify for the world cup might make a mockery of our nations cup to the outside world. |
Why in the world was togo banned from the next two nations cup? That was a very stupid and unfair decision from CAF. Can some please explain to me why they were banned. |
shesi:I agree with the bolded parts. Let's not forget that they still fail to get anywhere at the world stage. Let's also remember that we had two west african countries (Senegal and Ghana) who have made it to the quarterfinal stage of the world cup. And I have hope that Ghana can repeat that again and make it to the quarterfinal stage of the world cup. I am actually hoping that the african teams would take it a notch further an make it to the semifinals. Hey, who knows africa might even take the world cup. I might be sounding too ambitious, but you never know. Like one of the posters said, today's football match is not determined by a team's history. They change players and strategies. Just to show you how unpredictable football is, look at how Egypt is three times in a row african nations cup champions yet repeatedly fail to qualify for the world cup. They demolished algeria 4-0 in the nations cup semifinals yet that same algerian team beat them for the world cup qualifying game. |
Princek12:VERY WELL SAID! |
shesi: I agree! They held out very well. Egypt didn't easily crush them like everyone thought. We are still better than arabs when it comes to football. I don't care. They barely beat Ghana. Let's stop hating. A lot of nigerians are just mad Ghana beat them and wanted Egypt to win. BUT LET'S BE HONEST GHANA HELD IT DOWN WELL. IT WASN'T AN EASY VICTORY FOR EGYPT. THE RESULT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN THE OTHER WAY AROUND. |
chic2pimp:Now as usual, the north africans are gonna feel more superior to black africans. Damn! I can't believe they won this a THIRD time! DAMN! |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN!!!!! Only if that last shot had gone in! Damn! |
The start collapsing every minute in the last few minutes to waste time. |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This is so sad! Not a third time in a row! |
blacksta:Exactly. Now they r gonna keep faking injuries. |
Damn! Ghana, why let them score now, why! |
