Well okay. Here it goes. There is this guy I met on myspace and we only talked one time. He has his mobile number on his account so I decided to send him a text. Am I crazy to have done that? He responded to my text asking who is it? What should I tell him after I tell him who it is? I don't want to seem desperate or weird. I'm asking all guys to give me advice on how they would feel if they were in that guy's shoes? Do you think I should talk to him? What should I say to him? Truly everyone has the right to their own opinion, but there is hardly that many races that would not claim their own is the most beautiful/handsome. I find it quite bizarre then to witness this phenomenon with some Nigerian men - perhaps it is an affinity for something different? I don't know. On Somali threads - many claim they choose Nigerian men over a Somalian because he might have money - even if it IS from drugs (can you imagine) unlike the Somali men, they also claim the men have big noses, are a lower race and are ugly? Though they claim their Somali women can be loose, and Nigerian women have big rear ends, they still love their Somali women and claim they are the most beautiful.
One thing I have observed though with more and more British Nigerian women is though we used to (and the majority still do) only associate ourselves with Nigerian men, more and more feel this no longer makes sense. Many would calls these females gold-diggers and falsely assume that is the reason in all cases (though undoubtedly it could apply to some). But perhaps it is because a lot of our own men prefer other races to their own?!
Well, I believe in the theory of choice, so I hope to see more Nigerian women dating more non-Nigerian men and perhaps the tensions will reduce on both sides. It seems the only option now - as imbalance seems to be the problem, not people's choices, but the imbalance in choices. I am sorry to say. I personally have never dated a non-Nigerian/west African before you ask. But posts like this make me reconsider why I have turned down those men - white, West Indian, Indian, Libyan, Angolan, Brazilian - even Somalians have chased me, and personally I don't believe I am all that (I wonder why Somalians if their women are the best - guess beauty is varied and they can understand that at times)?

Don't hate me for posting this, but it seems people take views/experiences they have had with a few and categorically decide this is the general truth then post it about the majority. I have only one Somalian female friend strangely enough, but I have met many and, yes they are beautiful - not all - but many. The same is true for my Nigerian friends - especially without makeup - they are even more beautiful!

Before you say it - I can't be jealous at the original posters comment because I don't know him, and I believe the same is true for Amaka and any other women that posted angrily on this forum. We will probably never know each other so he makes little difference to my life as do I to his. If you did detect jealousy, maybe you [b]were [/b]perfectly spot on.

Can you imagine what it is like to be probably the only race with such a high number of men who believe other women are better looking.



I can't be jealous of how Somali women look, because I am thankful for what God gave me (so is my man ), but I for one will admit, I am HIGHLY jealous of the support Somali women have from their own men in relation to beauty! That being said - I don't envy all other aspects!

I am like you were too with your dating preferences. If it was not a man from my country, it was another west african.l That was the farthest I would go. But now I don't care as long as the guy is a muslim.

I agreed with everything you said especially the stuff I highlighted in bold. When you said that we were the only race with such a high proportion of men who think other women are better looking, that was very true. I think that is the reason why some of the females here including myself get annoyed with threads like these saying how we are not as good looking or as good in other aspects to as other women. and why can't we be like them and so on,

nope, i'm not hating on light skinned girls. there is nothing to hate on. i'm just stating a mentality a lot of africans have, which is the lighter is better attitude. you can't deny that. if that is not the case then can you care to explain why skin bleaching is so common in africa especialy nigeria, if people did not have this mentality?

don't waste your time. no matter what you say and no matter what beautiful pics you may post of nigerian women, it's not gonna change these men's thinking of what is beautiful. they will always find other women (i.e. east african and other non-blacks) to be more attractive. they will swear up and down that those women look better when in fact ALL ethnicities have gorgeous women. like the saying goes "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder". since they have this perception that lighter features and softer hair are more attractive even if they see an amazing looking west african chick they still would feel she could not hold a candle to a horn african chick or other non-black chick. so what they find beautiful is what meets their criteria for beauty, which for most men, especially african men, it is the farther away your features are from the typical black african look, hence the obsession with horn african chicks and any chick that has some sort of features close to European (i.e. hair texture etc, )

Correction: The last few pics were all nigerian. The set before was senegalese.

The motives behind my response to princek12 was to show him just how ridiculous it looks when people just throw numbers around. He stated only 5% of naija girls are beautiful, while 25-50% of brazilian girls are beautiful without any scientific evidence to back it up. I did the same but in the context of Brazil's transsexualism, so I could try and show the guy how ridiculous he looked.

exactly. there is absolutely nothing wrong in finding people of other races attractive, b/c they are our fellow human beings so it is natural to be attracted to them. but to deny the beauty in your own people is self-hate. no matter how beautiful a pic you post here of a naija girl they would alwys fins somethin negative to say. but you post a white woman, hispanic, asian, arab etc, they would find nothing wrong with it and say how they are all so beautiful when they have just as beautiful if not more beautiful women right in their own homeland. even if you post a pic of say a gorgeous nigerian girl and a not so gorgeous latina, white or arab, they would pick the one who is not naija. they overexaggerate the beauty of women of other races and downgrade the beauty of their own women.

i must say i'm glad to see you guys standing up for your countrywomen. that's what real men do. i see you are not weak and don't have a warped mentality like some of these fools in here. princek12 and omar22 give a bad image to all other naija guys b/c they make it seem like you all are self-hating and put other women above your own. i apologize if some of my comments in this thread and other threads may seem harsh. sometimes i get the feeling that i am blaming all naija men for thinking like them.

that applies to ALL WOMEN INCLUDING BRAZILIAN WOMEN. most people in the real world look average. MOST WOMEN NO MATTER WHAT RACE DON'T LOOK LIKE MISS WORLD.

hey good for you that you did not limit yourself since black men would not hesitate to marry out of their race. many even seem to even prefer dating out of their race. however, i don't think white men are better. and i think black men are certainly better looking. i would still prefer a black man any day, but it is good to open your options since many black men are disloyal, especially when they become successful. white men also tend to treat ALL women better. black men treat women usually just tend to treat white women or women of other races better.

I'm sure the OP knows what Nigerian girls look like, considering his mother and sisters/female relatives are all Nigerians. We sef we know what we look like. Exactly! They talk about how these horn african chicks have soft wavy hair and our hair is too nappy when they have the same kind of nappy hair. Then they wonder why we say they are self-haters. They could not hold a candle to north african men either. They have gorgeous hair and sexy eyes, whixh they also lack. But you would not see one of us make a post about how other men are the best in africa. These same guys posting pics of somali girls would be the first ones ro criticize us if we made a post about how other men are the best.

they don't even have to wear makeup to look better. other west african tribes are gorgeous too like the wolof, who in my opinion are better looking than somalis.
