Controversies trail the death of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Abubakar Audu. Some sources suggest that Audu was actually poisoned. He was rushed to the hospital and constantly vomiting blood which he then passed out and died. Reports going around now are that Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos state and APC national leader has a hand in his death. It is reported that Audu’s poisoning was pre-planned in order to impose Tinubu’s boy James Abiodun Faleke from Okun-Yoruba – Abubakar Audu’s running mate – on Kogi. Though from Kogi, Faleke was a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos. Some are citing the 1999 situation where Obasanjo picked Atiku Abubakar as his VP after Atiku won the Adamawa polls. While Atiku was yet to be inaugurated, his running mate Boni Haruna climbed into the governor seat. The allegation was made by Rochas Okorocha, special adviser on inter-party affairs to former president Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor of Imo State. He has reportedly claimed that the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is among others who killed the Kogi state governorship candidate. However, special assistant to the Imo state governor on information and communications technology Ik Ogbonna denied what he called “ tale full of thrash.” The statement reads in part: “ The story which is written in poor English purported that Gov Rochas Okorocha, the Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum gave an interview where he accused Tinubu of being behind the death of Kogi state APC candidate, late Prince Abubakar Audu. “Firstly Gov Rochas Okorocha spent the better part of yesterday, Sunday 22nd November, 2015 till about 7 pm chairing a stakeholders forum of South-East Leaders and returned to Owerri same night, it is bewildering where and when he gave the interview which thrended same night on social media? “Secondly, Prince Abubakar Audu is not yet a member of APC Governors Forum and Okorocha could not have granted the interview on that score. “The family of Prince Abubakar Audu has not blamed anyone for the death of their son neither is Gov Okorocha a member of the Audu family. “The story was written as an interview Governor Okorocha granted yet no medium was mentioned. Can one grant interview to thin air? “The purported interview is a wicked machination of people who are envious of the towering profile of Gov Rochas Okorocha and aim at bringing him at loggerheads with leaders of the Party especially Sen Bola Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State and a man Gov Okorocha holds in very high esteem. “It is also remarkable that the story has no source but emanated from the Facebook wall of a PDP apologist who must have been paid by her handlers to cause disaffection within APC family.” Source:https://www.naij.com/645874-okorocha-clears-air-tinubus-role-audus-death.html |

Diezani Alison Madueke, former minister of petroleum, has reportedly ordered her relatives to jet her back to Nigeria this Friday as her condition grew worse last weekend. Diezani Alison-Madueke has reportedly ordered to be returned to Nigeria, following further decline in her health. The ex-oil minister has not been responding to treatment since Thursday, November 19. This development has given her family sleepless night, hence the decision to have her return to the country to find spiritual healing. Daily Post reports that Diezani’s family have concluded plans to visit a Lagos-based prophet, T.B Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) for prayers. An insider is quoted to have said: “She has not tasted any solid food since last Monday. She did not speak throughout Thursday. When she eventually spoke Friday morning, she ordered them to return her to the country to visit Prophet T. B Joshua for prayers.” Madueke has been bedridden in a London hospital following her removal as overseer of the oil ministry, she is said to be battling cancer. Meanwhile, the ailing former minister who has been battling some charges of fraud leveled against her, said in a recent interview that she did not steal a dime while in office. According to her, she left $5.6 billion in the NLNG account, contrary to reports that she milked the nation’s treasury dry before leaving office. The embattled minister noted that she served the country professionally. source:https://www.naij.com/645532-diezani-seeks-spiritual-healing-returns-nigeria-friday.html |

It shows power belongs to God. 12.40 The burial has been officially fixed for 2.00 P.M. Imams retire to small mosque in compound as rejoicing continues however no one has confirmed seeing him. Thousands troop into Ogbonicha as rumours of revival spreads. Rejoicing continues but Audu not in sight. 12.32 A mammoth crowd besieged the residence of the late Abubakar Audu as they await the corpse to be brought out of his room Angry friends and relatives try banging hard at the door trying to force it open Interesting twist as prophet seeks to pray for Audu’s corpse and bring him back to life Security inside and family members would have none of it but angry youths break the door open The prayer man has successfully been forcefully taken in by the wish of the crowd and they have all joined in the prayers for the resurrection of Audu with Holy Ghost fire renting the air as well as shouts of Allahu Akbar . Dino Melaye and some family members came out through the back door to calm the angry crowd. While they are largely engaged in fervent prayers others are weeping loudly by the door There is no word as to what the programme of burial is. No official word only a shut door and a waiting crowd Both Christians and muslims I meant to say As men and women of faith engage in fervent prayers to bring Audu back to life others are digging his grave in one end of the compound Uproar as news filters in that he has risen. No confirmation yet. Grave diggers discouraged. Slow down work as people keep asserting that Audu is being revived. Grave diggers redouble work as doubts spreads. |

Two ex-aides of Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress in the state. The defection took place on Saturday when the APC candidate in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva, took his campaign tour to the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area ahead of the December 5 governorship poll. The new defectors are Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Furoebi Akene, who resigned his appointment penultimate week, and Dickson’s Special Representative to Southern Ijaw, Apreala Pereladei. The two, who said they had defected to the APC with their supporters, insisted that the APC represented the needed change that would accelerate the socio-economic and political development of the state. The Southern Ijaw, home to Dickson’s strong allies such as his Chief of Staff, Government House, Talford Ongol; late former Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; and Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Konbowei Benson, is believed to be a major battle ground for Dickson and Sylva in the December poll. Of the total 663,639 number of registered voters released on November 5, 2015 by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the election, Southern Ijaw has 120,827 voters, second only to the Yenagoa Local Government, which has 139,777 voters. Among the major towns in the Southern Ijaw area, where Sylva campaigned on Saturday, were Otuan, Amassoma, Koluama, Foropa and Oporoma, headquarters of the council. Addressing supporters after the defectors were welcomed into the APC by the party’s Chairman, Chief Tiwei Orunimighe, Sylva assured them that the party had come to change their lives from poverty to wealth. He urged them to embrace the APC if they wanted development and progress. He said that the Southern Ijaw was a strong stakeholder in APC because his running mate, Wilberforce Igiri, and the state chairman of the party, Tiwei Orunimighe, were indigenes of the area. Sylva said, “Oporoma people, Southern Ijaw people, if you want development and progress, it is APC. The opposition party is dead. We have buried it in Abuja. We will also bury it in Bayelsa. “On December 5, vote for me and my deputy. After victory, we will sit down and look at how to bring peace to Bayelsa, companies will come, and there will be jobs and enjoyment.” source:punchng.com/dicksons-ex-aides-dump-pdp-for-apc/ |

The Kwara State Government has debunked reports in the media that 16 villages in Baruten Local Government Area of the state have been invaded and occupied by troops from neighbouring Benin Republic. The media was awash with reports that there has been tension in the border town of Okuta in Baruten LGA of Kwara State over the alleged invasion of the 16 villages by Beninese soldiers, who had also reportedly hoisted their country’s national flag there. But in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Alhaji Mahmud Ajeigbe on Friday, the Kwara state government said the affected villages of Okuta District of Baruten Local Government Area of the state are calm and still under the control of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The statement further stressed that although no foreign government has erected any structure nor hoisted their national flag in any of the villages as erroneously reported in the media, the state government has already taken the precaution of alerting the security agencies. “Emir of Okuta, Alhaji Idris Abubakar, Chairman of Baruten Local Government Council and security agencies in the area have all confirmed that residents of the sixteen villages are going about their normal activities without fear and that there is no sign of foreign security agencies or their structures in the area”, the statement said. In the same vein, Malam Abdulrasheed Lafia, Vice Chairman of the local government, who also doubles as the chairman of the Local Government Boundary Committee, said the issue surrounding the disputed Ogomue land had been resolved since 2005. Mr. Lafia claimed that the National Boundary Commission, after a 2004 visit, resolved that the land actually belonged to Benin Republic. He, however, said news report of an invasion of the 16 villages is a sponsored one, as no such invasion or attack exists anywhere in the local government. The vice chairman, who produced a copy of the letter on the issue, said the news report was mischievous. source:www.informationng.com/2015/11/alleged-territorial-encroachment-by-benin-republic-false-says-kwara-govt.html
