lawman88:
Happy new year Nairalanders,

My wife is very churchy and spiritual. I love her for that but she told me this morning that the spirit ministered to her to sow something huge to a reverend father, so she carried all her December salary and gave to a reverend father. I asked her why she didn't notify me before she undertook it and she said such instructions should be carried out without anybody's knowledge.

I'm not a catholic member, I'm RCCG. catholic members in the house, is that how your doctrine is? We are young couple and I wish we don't have any serious disagreement for now.
I don't think it's the best to share your family issues here on social media. You will get different advices that can harm your marriage. My humble opinon.
FamilyRe: Traditional Marriage Ceremony in U.S.: NEED HELP! by Neozy(m): 1:57pm On Jan 01, 2018
Every ceremony will be done in the bride's parent house.
1. Introduction and engagement :
It can be done like a month to the wedding or preferably a day to the wedding where the groom will come with his family members to come meet and get to know the bride's family members and also make known his intention of marrying their daughter. The bride family would have sent a list of goods the grooms family would bring along with them while coming like a month before the date. The list usually include like 42 tubers of yam, a travelling bag filled with clothes and clothing accessories for the bride, honey, kolanut, palm oil etc. They will also come with the bride's price although the bride price is usually returned to signify that the bride family did not sell their daughter but they gave her as a gift. The bride's family will have a MC (known as Alaga Ijoko) while the groom's family will come with their own MC also which is also known as Alaga Iduro. The Alaga Ijoko will be host and will achor the programme. (They are the first person you need to contact for further details on your wedding plans). Tell the groom together with his male friends to prepare to postrate for the brides family.
The brides family will cook for everybody present at the party although the groom's family can support them with money, or a bag of rice etc.
2. Wedding ;
This depend on your religion or preferance. You can either do a church wedding or a Islamic wedding(Nikkah) or a court wedding. Any of this three makes you officially and legally married by the Nigerian law.
3. Reception :
This is where you serve everybody various delicacy of food. You cut the wedding cake, take photographs with family and friends. Etc. It is immediatelly after the wedding.

.
I will advise you to do the introduction and engagement on a friday and do the wedding and recpetion on a saturday.

It would have been better if the op did not mention his name to avoid further delays. Anyways as my people would say a one eyed person is the king in a village inhabited by the blind. UI is the best in Nigeria for post graduate studies.

I m not spewing hatred but stating facts. It's all over the Bible that the needy should be helped. What are the foundations laid by clergies strictly for the poor? People die everyday in hospitals. Gos said his judgement will start from his house but we shouldnt wait for that before getting things right and done
What are you trying to say? I don't get you. Is it the #2bn stadia project that is killing people everyday in hospitals? Get a life, stop hating.

Religious in Nigeria is a bloody scam

Brainwashed ppl
1. Your English is bad.
2. Who is brainwashed between taxpaying Nigerians that attend governments universities like Uniosun, OOU, KWASU etc and pay up to 350k as school fees and a winners member that out of his own discretion choose to pay or not to pay tithes and offering attending Covenant University.
Stop blaming the church for the failures and inabilities of the government. Taxpaying Nigerians deserve good roads, quality and affordable education, good medical services and food security. THE CHURCH DOESN'T OWE ANYONE.
EducationRe: Winners Chapel Constructing N2bn Stadia For Covenant And Landmark Universities by Neozy(m): 8:21pm On Dec 09, 2017
I'm so happy. Haters of the church can start their wailing. The church is moving forward and the gate of hell can never prevail against it. Haters should go and hug transformer.

I sincerely hope the poor ain't left out from the spending of the church

May God open the eyes of our pastors to make right investments.. The poor and the needy should be the main priority of church funds.. Lord help us all
In fact the church was established because of the poor. May be they should even stop preaching the gospel and they should focus 100% on feeding and caring for the poor.

My wife took my phone and deleted jane's number and saved her number as Jane.

You see, someone had tipped my wife off about my side chick, jane. I then got an SMS from jane asking for #5,000 airtime. I rushed out to the mall, bought the airtime, and sent it to jane, She did not acknowledge receipt of the airtime.

When I was relaxing at home after work, I kept wondering if jane had received the airtime. So I sent her an SMS to find out if she had received the airtime. Her response was, "Call me now".

I got out of the house to make the call. You can imagine my horror when my wife answered the call! .......

Well to cut the long story short, I'm still standing outside.....

Should I go inside or go back to workhuh?
Isn't it hilarious that some people actually belived the op? The Op is just joking. It isn't real.

That's the way it has been and that's the way it will always be. Even our so called Atheists remember God when there's no other place to find solution to their problems.

This reminds when me and my course mate (an atheist) were traveling from school when the tire busted and the driver lost control, my friend was the first to shout "Jesus" and I couldn't believe my eyes ooo.

I have seen atheists who call pastors to pray for them, they confess their sins and give their life to Christ so that they can make it to heaven peradventure if they die
cheesy
Those so called atheist know within themselves that there is God, they just like to be decieveing themselves.

caprini1:
This is not putting any country down, but just my observation. I just came back to Lagos ,after a 7 days working visit to Ghana,Tema ports precisely. My kind of work takes me to many West African countries.

This time I said I was going to do direct conversion of my spendings to naira..,and believe you me ,even with the numerous problems in naija, almost everything is still very cheap compared to Ghana. The most crazy part was fruits,I love fruits,I bought two balls of the tiny local tangerine, for 1cedi.1 cedi will by you 10 balls in Lagos.I don't want to go to food,a very good normal 500 naira meal is about 20cedis,that is about 1600.

A distance of mile 2 to Volkswagen in Lagos ,which is 100 naira,is 2 cedis 30 pesewas which is about 200 naira.By taxi it's 15 cedis which is about 1300 naira.Once a taxi driver notices you are new ,the fares are multiplied.

For the 7 days there were electricity blackouts ,3 hrs per day for 3 days, and my hotel doesn't have a standby generator, and the staffs don't give a hoot,if you are sweating or your phone's are not charged. All they will tell you,is the light will soon come back.At least in naija I know ,light will go off,so back ups are available.

Then finally,I noticed, most people I came across at the port, don't really like Nigerians, but are interested in the money we came with,so sad. One of the hotel workers where I camped ,was so angry that naija qualified for the world cup and they didn't, that he acts it out.

Anyway ,honestly there is no place like Naija ,our diversity is our strenght. And hey,it's still easy to survive here than out there,my own opinion though.
Naija for life jare. Nigeria still remains the best country in Africa.
