Brazil great Ronaldo has rated Lionel Messi as the best player in the world at the moment.
When asked to name his top five current football players, Ronaldo named Liverpool star Mohammed Salah, Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard and Paris St. Germain duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe apart from Messi.

However, Juventus superstar and Messi’s arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo was a notable omission from his list.

“Messi, of course, he is number one, he is a talent that means it will take 20 or 30 years to see something similar,” said Ronaldo in an interview with AS.
“I also like Mohamed Salah, Eden Hazard…Neymar, I love watching him play, and of course, Kylian Mbappe,” he said.

Mbappe’s performances, particularly at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, have drawn comparisons to Ronaldo but the two-time World Cup winner said that he doesn’t believe in such comparisons.
“Many people say that he (Mbappe) looks like me. He has a lot of speed, he finishes well, he has great movement, he shoots really well with both feet, he has an incredible stride,” said Ronaldo.

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said it was tragic and unfortunate that bandits have remained active in parts of the country, killing innocent people and throwing families into despair during this period that the world and Nigeria battle Coronavirus pandemic.
This is President Buhari has condoled with families who lost loved ones in an attack by bandits in Sabon Birni Local Government, Sokoto State, praying for the quick recovery of those that sustained injuries.

In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari said, “As the world and Nigeria battle Coronavirus pandemic, it is tragic and unfortunate that bandits have remained active in parts of the country, killing innocent people and throwing families into despair.
“We will not abandon you to your fate because we are determined to bring these mass murderers to their knees and crush them totally.’’
He noted that a major military operation code-named “Operation Accord” was launched by the military, targeting the bandits that had been tormenting North-West and North Central states.
He said, “This operation will be full time and sustained military offensive that is intended to deny the bandits any breathing space to reorganize and regroup.’’
President Buhari reassured Nigerians that the government was determined to protect them against “remorseless psychopathic mass killers who have no regard for the sanctity of life.’’

A 17 years old Bauchi teenager who confessed to Vanguard why she killed her husband said she didn’t know that sex is a marital obligation.
Salma Hassan, a resident of Itas-Gadau who was paraded at the Bauchi Police Command on Tuesday, revealed that she stabbed her husband when he wanted to make love to her, adding that she thought he wanted to defile her.

“I never knew that sex is a marital obligation. On that fateful night when he approached me for sex, I refused him because I have never been involved in it. I honestly thought he wanted to defile me. He later got angry and was trying to force himself on me with slaps and beating, then I picked up a knife to scare him away but he kept coming. I didn’t know when I stabbed him with the knife in his chest.

“I have already given my statement. I don’t know what will happen to me now. But I wouldn’t have done what I did if I knew better,” she said.
According to a Police statement, a knife was recovered when they arrested Salma for culpable homicide at her home in Itas-Gadau.
“On the 24/04/2020 at about 0900hrs, one Haruna Musa ‘m’ of Itas-Gadau reported at Itas-Gadau Division, that one Salma Hassan ‘f’ 18yrs of the same address stabbed her husband, one Mohammed Mustapha on the chest. As a result, he sustained serious injury and was rushed to General hospital Itas–Gadau for treatment where he was certified dead. The suspect was arrested and has confessed to the crime. Exhibit recovered from the suspect was one knife,” the statement reads.
