Perhaps, if it were before the brazen robbery of Ihedioha's mandate in Imo State, I would probably join those echoing the sentiment that Lyon's mandate shouldn't have been affected by his deputy's mistake.

However, given the recent turn of events, I have two things to say:

1. Lyon should have done his due diligence. His ignorance has cost him, and heavily so.

2. Since some people in the APC decided to drag the nation's apex court into their madness, let the season of madness begin. If it is good for goose, it is suitable for gander. What PDP lost in Imo, she has regained in Bayelsa. What APC won in Imo, it has lost in Bayelsa.

The leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has sent President Muhammadu Buhari a warning, telling him never to return to Borno.
In a video obtained by TheCable, the leader of the sect conspicuously told Buhari that his members are fully on ground in the North-East.

He said they will attack Buhari if he visits Borno again. “Buhari came to Maiduguri pretending to be a good man. He shouldn’t try it again,” Shekau said in Hausa language.
Speaking further, he gave condition for Chibok girls’ release, noting that the schoolgirls would be set free if the federal government let go of the sect members currently in detention.
Recall that in April 15, 2014, the sects abducted about 276 female students from Chibok girls Secondary School.

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday declared that 90 per cent of Boko Haram’s victims in the past years were Muslims.
“It is the reality that some 90 per cent of all Boko Haram’s victims have been Muslims. They include a copycat abduction of over 100 Muslim schoolgirls, along with their single Christian classmate; shootings inside mosques; and the murder of two prominent imams
“It is a simple fact that these now-failing terrorists have targeted the vulnerable, the religious, the non-religious, the young, and the old without discrimination,” he said in an article in Speaking Out; a guest opinion column for Christianity Today, published in US.
However, in a swift reaction, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, rebutted the President’s claims, saying the Federal Government “has not commissioned any multi-stakeholder survey to ascertain the facts and figures.”

President Buhari was reacting to the outrage trailing the murder of the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Rev. Lawan Andimi, after Boko Haram insurgents who kidnapped him rejected a N50 million ransom.
‘B-Haram targets without discrimination’
President Buhari said the perception that members of the sect were always targeting Christians in Nigeria is not completely true, adding that the terrorists have targeted the vulnerable without discrimination.
However, an investigation by Vanguard showed that the terrorists have intensified attacks against Christians and why they are doing so.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, on Tuesday, said the recovered $308 million looted by the late former Head of State, General Sani Abacha will be used on the construction of Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, Abuja – Kano Expressway and the Second Niger bridge.
Malami said this in a press statement published on the website of the US Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria on while signing on behalf of the Nigerian government,
In Malami’s words, “As you are aware, the government of Nigeria has committed that the assets will support and assist in expediting the construction of the three major infrastructure projects across Nigeria – namely
“These projects currently being executed under the supervision of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority as a public-private partnership (PPP) will boost economic growth and help alleviate poverty by connecting people and supply chains from the East to the West and to the Northern part of Nigeria, a vast area covering several kilometers with millions of the country’s population set to benefit from the road infrastructures.“
The AGF also noted that this agreement has “culminated in a major victory, for Nigeria and other African countries as it recognizes that crime does not pay and that it is important for the international community to seek for ways to support sustainable development through the recovery and repatriation of stolen assets.”
He noted further that “without the commitment of the three parties to the Agreement (Nigeria, Jersey and the United States) and that of the legal experts and Attorneys representing Nigeria, it would have been impossible to achieve the success recorded today.”
Malami urged for greater cooperation and mutual respect amongst countries in the implementation of expeditious cooperation measures already set out in the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and in the implementation of the GFAR principles on the repatriation of stolen assets.
He called for the civil society organizations and the Nigerian public to be involved in the monitoring of the implementation of the key infrastructure projects that will greatly enhance road transportation in the country.
