Hello house,
I went for the medical examination yesterday,but what worries me about the medical exam is that while the Doctor was asking me about my medical history,I was honest with all my response. He asked me if I have ever had tuberculosis,and I responded that I treated the ailment in 2002 and it was confirmed to me that I am tuberculosis free. The Doctor requested for any report backing this history. I didnt go with it,so today,I went to the hospital that treated me(State Hospital),but unfortunately,the hospital cannot find the record anymore. I did not find the record as well,as it has been a long time and I have changed location along the line.
Today,I went back to Marien hospital to explain things to the Doctor. All she told me was that she will send her own report like that. I even told me if I could take a medical fitness test from the hospital that treated,she refused and said she needs the past record. But I think the x-ray the CDHC required is also meant to detect any chest problem including that of TB. If I am OK with recent X-ray what will happen? I am really bothered. Please house,I need your suggestion and advice. Above all,I have my faith in the almighty God. He's capable of doing all things.
Please I need quick response. I am really confused. Thanks.

Glory be to God. U need to go to any of the designated clinics and book for appointment first,then you shall be given date to come for the medical tests. I wish u goodluck.

I'll advise you to be patient better late than never! US embassy probably won't even take time to check your documents all it takes is a split second decision by a visa officer and if he feels he doen't like your face and refuse you the visa you'll have no right of appeal. for me I prefer to deal with embassy that have a fair system of granting visa rather than one that depend on pure luck

Bashtee! at least u've gotten a response 4rm them and it aint a negative response from my own perspective. If u r requested to provide more of ur sponsor's dox. no qualms now, go ahead and supply them with it. Also,informing u that they are expecting response from ur univeristy is another clarifying sign of the cause of delay. tunnytox made a clear point.It's better u exercise little more patience. u are almost there. I understand the kind of pressure,anxiety and suspense u are under going,but delay is never a denial. It is better u have experience with embassies that take their time to verify ur dox and even go to the extent of calling 4 interview 2 clear their doubts,rather than one day justification of ur application thru ur dox and ur face. So,please be patient my brother. We shall get there,God willing.

You can contact them via e-mail. While contacting them,you can quote your passport number,full name,date of birth and address. Providing your application is over the normal processing period.

Yea,u've missed so much for the few week u were absent. Though all the excitement&suspense are recorded here for u. The call of longecity for medical, my experience at the CDHC for interview,commendation and condemnation of my response on the interview from fellow nairalanders and the recent development in chizquares case and much more. However,I welcome u back to the house. I wish everyone expecting 2 hear from CDHC good news. We shall get there by God's grace.

thx so much. I also wish you well in ur application and plan to study in Canada. After paying $6,500 from ur father's personal account and the balance on the acct still reads 5.2 million naira;I think it is OK. All u have to do is to prove the source of the fund. I had a total balance of 4.6 Million on my acct when I applied and I also have a CSCS shares valuation totaling 2.6million.

thank u so much. I was sent mail via DHL the document for medicals includes a seal envelope and letter giving me the addresses of the designated medical practitioners I should meet for the medical test. I was also given my passport. I was asked to go to any of the clinics with my passport and 3passport photos. I should return my passport after the medical test with a pre-paid courier envelope. thx.

Alhamdulillah! I got my medical instructions today. I give thanks to almighty Allah for this positive response. I also want to thank all fellow Nairalanders that contributed to this positive outcome through their criticism,tips,advice,words of encouragement and prayer. I also wish those that are expecting their call for medicals a positive response. For those that have already done medicals,I also pray we get our visa soon. I will be going str8 for medicals tomorrow.

after filling the form,what happened?Man, to me,patience is the watchword. I can also advise you to contact CDHC staff directly and explain things to them. I am not comfortable with ur situation,putting urself in my shoes.

thx. I don't knw the outcome of the Bank statement verification yet. Though the Bank statement is genuine and certified. I want to wait till next week Monday before I contact CDHC to remind them of the resumption date. Though I already contacted the school of the situation of things.

Thx so much. I already informed the school of the development and I have told them I may need a defferment letter,depending on the response of CDHC. Meanwhile,I hope I'll be contacted next week.

thx a lot. I already contacted the school for admission letter showing new start date,depending on the response of CDHC. I wanna wait till Monday to take my next step of action. The school's deferrment letter can get to me within 3days via courier. I

I need advice from you. I was called for interview on 4th July and after the interview,I was only told that I will be contacted soon. My concern is this,my school resumes on 25th July. I havent heard from CDHC after the interview and I heard medical result normally come out after 2 to 4weeks.
I am in a cross road. Should I contact my school for deferrment letter or I should wait for CDHC's direction to request for the new start date letter. I need advice from all. Thanks.

if you are to be called for interview,you shall be contacted through courier. Hope I answered ur question now. Ur application staying long at the CDHC office doesnt necessarily mean you shall be given the visa. I think it takes long time for them to verify some of the dox. More so,some institutions and facilities may be slow in responding to the inquiry of the embassy to the applicants case. Each application and applicant are treated independently and separately. are you okay with my response?

Thank you so much for the criticism,advice and points. I am sure new nairalanders will learn from this forum and especially from my case,when my case has been condemned and written off at the initial stage. Most of the guyz here didnt believe I could make it to interview stage but I always follow a saying that: Even if everyone says you dont have a chance,never give up your dream. I think I have to let you realize some facts about my case and why the VO thinks I have a stand and why she probably considered calling me up for interview. I will start by making some rectifications to the points you have drawn.

- If you are working for yourself or your family (basically doing "buy and sell", you do not not need a certification. Why apply?

[b]ACCA is not about certification alone. I will earn Bsc.(hons) in applied Accounting from Oxford Brooke University,UK after the completion of the prog. If I could pursue the prog. in Canada,I will come back to Nigeria not only with my certificate,but with world class exposure and experience. Apply practical skills and knowledge to my Business wont be harmful. More so,everyone needs to think outside the box. I need to see my business grow and I am a Director(Major decision maker) in my Father's company. So,why cant I go for such prog? Do I have to see the business grow before I could upgrade my knowledge and skills? why do I have to pay for the services of the professionals(Accountants&Economists) if I can afford to be one? Why will my father pay for professional service if he has a son that can provide the service knowing well that he will sit at the realms of affair of such company in the nearest future? Administering my own Business and family business at the same time may be challenging,so why cant I get more practical skills and knowledge if I can afford it? Nobody wants to be stagnant,everybody and business wants to grow,so I want to move from that ( basic "buy&sell" to Import,Export,Haulage and Automobiles(which is already on my certificate of biz.reg). If I didnt convince the VO enough about this points on my letter of intent,she would not have bothered calling me for interview. [/b]


- If you want a certification to work for yourself just because you want to increase your knowledge (which is a good thing), ICAN is more than adequate. Why spend extra and risk your already thriving business to pursue a certification in Canada, where it is not recognised?

[b]ICAN does not match the shoes and comparison of ACCA in anyway and ICAN will not give me world class experience and exposure,as it is limited to West Africa alone. ICAN's practical teaching does not match that of ACCA and what I need mostly is practical knowledge with world class work experience and project. Furthermore,I have already made it known to the VO through the letter of intent that I am of the school of thought that believe in learning from cradle to grave. As long as I can afford to pay all my study and living expenses in Canada while I still have substantial amount of money and shares left at my disposal,and leaving my business for a short period of time with safe hands;while I stated categorically on the letter of intent the breakdown of my expenses;why can't I pursue the course? I agree with you that ACCA is not recognized in Canada,but it is widely recognized in Europe and Africa where I came from;and it's superior to the similar qualification in Nigeria&Africa(ICAN). ACCA's unfamiliarity in Canada does not have any effect on my objective as I am not pursuing the course to utilize it or get employment in Canada. It's only needed for the development of my business,contributing meaningful decisions to family business for the development of the company and to add to my prestige in the society[/b]



I do not think he did a good job trying to convince the VO on these two points amongst others.

Yes,you might not think I convince the VO,but if God says yes,who can say no? Though the VO did not show any sign if I convince her or not,yet I believe God has his ways of doing things. He wants and has the best for me. If the Canada study visa is not now,then later. All I know is that God is great.

No offence, but I also thought his definition of marketing and responses on his final project were quite elementary for a grad student trying to get an accounting designation. This is in no way an indictment of the applicant's knowledge. 

Thanks. Nobody is perfect. I didn't prepare for the question but I think I made a point that can be understood. More so,I am not a grad. student. I only have National Diploma in Business Studies and I want to increase my theoretical and practical skills in Financial education,and this inspired me for prog. like ACCA which is cost&time efficient to bridge upgrade my ND result to Bsc in Applied Accounting. Though I know I didnt respond to the question properly as a person in the management field,yet,i bet I will provide the best response if it happened to be an exam or screening to get appointed as Nigerian ambassador or Minister 

On the other hand, I think the applicant has done well for himself and put in a very strong application to get an interview which could go 50/50. However, I think that folks going for these interviews should learn to anticipate questions and understand what the interviewer is driving at so that they are able to give more "appropriate" responses. I sincerely hope in this case the applicant gets approved. Just my two cents!

Thanks so much for the comment and words of encouragement. I guess you are also a professional in Accouting or better still,you are in Management field. I also hope and pray I get called for the medicals. I will keep all u guyz updated and I am also aware of the ACCA stand in Canada. Though ACCA comes with Bsc(hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brooke University. I think a Degree in Accounting will be useful. More so,gaining skillful knowledge from the prog. will help me go a long way in my career and field. Yet,I am open to advice and support from experienced people like you most especially those that are already in Canada.

I suggest u go very early in the morning,as earlier as 8:00 am . I will advise you not to take chances by getting there around 10:00 they may not attend to you when it's getting close to 11:00 am due to my experience with them. I narrowly miss the interview,if not for the intervention of the almighty.
