HOW CAN BIAFRA AND NIGER DELTA SUCCEED ON THEIR OWN WITH THESE TYPE OF LEADERS? JONATHAN IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE NIGER DELTA AND WE CAN ALL SEE THE LEVEL OF IMCOMPETENCE AND TOLERANCE FOR CORRUPTION EMBEDED IN HIM. I HOPE THE IGBOS WILL STOP FOAMING AT THE MOUTH CONCERNING THIS BIAFRA. THEY NEED TO REMAIN IN NIGERIA SO THE HAUSAS AND YORUBAS CAN SHOW THEM WHAT LEADERSHIP MEANS cool
Take a look at Nigeria since 1960 and you will eat ur words.......What has the hausas and yorubas contributed to the growth Nigeria.

sanandreas: Chinese national petroleun corporation (CNPC). such a bad coy to work with. The working condition is bizarre. I remember 2004, i see my dad once in three months. His monthly salary as a nurse was 27,756 naira. He works straight 3 months and get 12 days time off. He feed himself. Imagine my dad have to carry stove to work. my father could not mould a block with all the years he spent with the coy. while his frdz who are working with Agip, CGG, Petrobras were building houses and buying cars. Their salary was over 300,000 as @ then. SAY NO TO CHINESE MODERN DAY SLAVERY
Bros, dem don enter oil industry, men wahala dey o!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can bet u they would soon chase agip and co away, the way they chased alcatel and siemens away.... this is a warning to pengassan and oil workers, if u want to safe guard ur huge salaries say no to the Chinese

Culture / Re: Nigeria's Disappearing Languages by newmaonza: 3:21pm On Nov 14, 2013
EBK2: Speak the language that will enable you be the best God has created you to be before you exit this planet into eternity. Some people are so afraid of losing their cultural identity. The only identity that lasts is Identity in Christ. Anything other than that, you are wasting your time in fighting a battle you will lose. There are languages that wont get you anywhere in this world (this may well include your ethnic language), so why bother. The earlier you know this, the sooner you will be free, else you will continue to be troubled by something that doesnt matter.

I strongly believe that the adoption of a foreign religion is the begining of this language crisis, the white men gave us Christ an colonized us and every body sees speaking english as being civilised.........The arabs were not dat successful, had they been, the bulk of us would be speaking arabic.... The Chinese are now perfecting how 2 sell Buddhism to the black world,,probably Mandarin is the universal language of the future...........

calebo101: What is superior in speaking your local dialect? Is it not same dialect 'your people' would sell you with? Inferiority complex my foot! I better learn french or Chinese that would better my prospect globally.

U think they r selling u in ur dialect.....Wait till a Chinese man sells u,& u run back 2 ur people speaking english?

ochallo: If those languages were useful, they would not disappear, while languages are disappearing, people are learning other languages. The best thing you can do for your child is to teach him fluent English without the hausa or igbo accent(base language), chinese (second best option) , french or spanish*( third best), german or korean or greek or hindi (fourth category).

But if you want them to become local government chairmen and councillors because your vision is extreemely limited , then go ahead and employ a teacher to teach them the thickest , toughest dialect of your village.

P.s
Zoque-Ayapaneco, an indigenous Mexican language is considered the most likely to become extinct, because the only two people in the world that speak it fluently, do not talk to each other!

And, it's not because they live in different countries, states or even villages - In fact, Manuel Segovia and Isidro Velazquez, both in their 70's, reside within 500 yards of each other, in the village of Ayapa in the Southern Mexican State of Tabasco. They however, refuse to converse because they simply don't have much in common. Segovia is apparently a little 'brusque' in nature whilst Velazquez is described as 'stoic'.

PURE INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

I have never believed any study & research that originates in Nigeria @OP: what u r saying is a big lie, may be those research were carried out in lekki, as far as i am concerned, if u go down 2 our public schools, u mostly hear people communicate in our local dialects, in lagos itz mostly yoruba, here in okene, na only Ibira people dey blow,,,,,,all dis research about a language dying are just confined to the elites in d society that do not mingle with the street kids........Can somebody tell me how You can grow up in Kano & not speak hausa fluently.
